I didn't know about the different colors either. I happened to see a pack of seeds from one of the organic seed companies (can't remember which one) at Portland Nursery. They must carry 20+ different seed companies and most of them are certified organic.

Cheap enough......

Went to a fundraiser for Cash Hyde yesterday, he's a 4 year old using cannabis to fight cancer in Montana. His family was supposed to be there but they just found out they are battling cancer attack number 3 :(. This was such a big deal because the local dispensary holding the fundraiser got Marybridge Hospital to sponsor their cause and donate "reggae runners" which are the little tyke kid flintstone style cars that are modified to hold an IV pole so kids can get around the hospital and have some fun. This is huge even in our cannabis-friendly Washington world to bridge western medicine with the cannabis movement. Woo!

And on an even more personally exciting note, I got to vend next to Gary Kline and his wife all day. We really connected... had lots of time to talk "organics" and they are ready to start getting a foot in the cannabis world. They were just vending his "Medicine Man" line of soil. They were excited to meet me and impressed with all the quality I offer and how I connected with and helped so many patients etc. They then asked me to send them a proposal for giving a class on processing which I'd have the BLO facility to do it in. I'm super excited and honored to be bridging this world also, especially with an organic guru!

Gary Kline has been promoting organics in the area for decades and is now semi-retired. Folks know of him both near and far and this is a very exciting connection to make and awesome opportunity for me to give a class in such a legit setting!!

Too bad I can't share with all my OFC friends about this exciting news, I could have really used that resource of information to share with the greater community of commoners to help put my class information together. Perhaps I can start some sort of private thread somewhere so I can get some support off the main forums radar. Any one know if starting a private group is possible? Just tired of the open forums and sketchballs n' cooks abound around here... anyone?

You can create an invite only group (or a moderated one) in the group menus, so you can keep the discussion civil..

That explains it. Ok, who wants to start me up a group ;) Even a WA patients group would be nice, but I would really love another organic-oriented refuge off the main forums. It could be called "no bull shit group" ....kidding. Thanks InjectTruth for solving the mystery for me ;) much appreciated! ~mgd

Evernote can handle a private or public board with ease. Worth checking out for the other technologies that this free program offers.

There is also a version for smartphones making updates easy if you're on the road. You can access your account from any computer.

If no-one else does, I can do it.. even though living in Italy I have very little to do with the subject :)

Well coot ya sure got me turned to to the app world ;) The smartphone version sounds interesting also... I will look in to it. My only hesitation is the security issue. I do like the fact that the server here on icmag is in the netherlands... another private group here in icmag would be sweet, I really did like the refuge of the ofc and would like to put together something of a similar nature.

Thanks Ixnay007~ that is such a kind offer! I will talk to "stan" about it and see if I can get his participation. It doesn't matter where you are (its who you're with??) We have cuts and genes all over the world at this point. I believe I'm not the only one who would appreciate a new private group ;) We'll catch back up with you after the weekend. We're bound for Mt. Rainier  How's the weather in Italy?

MGD - Nice thread :) Good Vibes seem to surround you, nothin' but positive 'tudes in here, good to see and very good to see your successful garden :D Props 'n Respect all day :tiphat:

What's your final take on the no-till system in 5gal buckets? I empty my 5gal each use (recycle, re-amend, refill) but I have some 18gal that are on their 2nd or 3rd cycle and only getting better. I thought the 5gal might be too small and collect too large a mass of roots to really break down effectively (?)...

Here's a 3rd cycle no-till, ain't much to it really eh ;)

Thanks for the reminder BlueJayWay ;) Its true, folks have always been kind, cool, and majorly supportive in my thread, I just never stray very far on the main forums and i'm missing out on a lot of conversations I'd love to be having about a lot of different things.... Kinda rough out there I've noticed and not necessarily uber girl-friendly. Its just that there are so many subjects to discuss and I do love my information organized. As in the info in the threads being relatively relevant to the topic for the most part...you know what i mean ;) otherwise I can't find anything! LOL!! So I try to stick to all things to recycled living soil in here instead of cooking/recipies, all the topical stuff I do, local events etc etc etc... I need a group with topic headings for all that. The ofc was great for that but they have very few members in there now...and I don't have access to it anymore... time for a new group that I can be part of, I feel more at ease off the main forums I guess.

My final take on the 5 gal. is that its the smallest size I'd attempt that methodology with. I would guess you're only going to love your 18'ers more and more. Not so much a problem with the roots breaking down, the soil I had was plenty active enough to devour them quickly, definitely guess those root balls were gone well before the next flowering in that pot would happen... In fact when I dumped the final round there were not any old root balls present. In considering the size thing, a big consideration is more so towards looking at the benefit of bigger masses/communities/networkings that would only offer stability and essentially less "entities" if you will... to care for, hydrate, etc. I know there was hesitation in the "bed" style gardening back when we were doing 6K vertical in these skinny "tiers" but it wasn't as dialed in several years back with as active soil that we developed soon after that round. Another reason for the 5 gal size is that they were free :) aaaand yet another part of the reason for the 5 gal's were partly for the practicality of a single female being able to move the damn things around... even had to stash them all at one point because of a house appraisal or something lol!! Not something you could do yourself with an 18 gallon community! So, living stability and good security is a must the bigger you go. Can't really move something like that in a hurry. The ability to have the space for a second setup to rotate for seamless cycles was good thinking too that was discussed in here at different times in the past... If you're really in to the cover crop thing and don't want to wait for it to develop until you can simply be able to start vegging... you'd have the cover going in the back up containers, "mowed" once, and ready for babies as you're harvesting your previous cycle. I miss this garden and want to start working on some outdoor soil for next year with all this great horse shit I have now :dance013: Esp. in an outdoor situation its no-till all the way! ~mgd

OH geez, now you have me thinking - trying to move a dozen 18gal tubs yikes!! Roller wheels will only get you across the room LOL.

The particular size (18gal) does seem to be working out very well for two ladies in each, sometimes I flower when only 6" or so (mostly a quick flower to double check myself about a strain before it goes production) and even 6 plants can comfortably go in that container @ that size.

I have a bucket of red clover I started, off to the side, it's a solid mass of sprouts, I don't remember spreading more seeds but I have sprouts in several buckets that are one week into flower, guess I was gardening medicated that night and just tossed seeds wherever I saw fit, hehe, growing great under 600w HPS as seedlings LOL.

Speaking of mowing - I have mini salad greens going to the side also and those get mowed quite often for a quick tasty treat while gardening - balsamic & hemp oil MMMmm.

Just scored buckets & buckets of horse shit/kitchen scrap WORM castings, yum!

OH, did you mention a website of yours a few pages back or so? In mention of your topicals etc., I'd be interested in learning more ;)

Yep... they're even heavier when they're WET! lol.... that's cool u can fit 6 in 1. Might have to thin out your "solid mass" as you may have some blue mold to conted with if its too dense. but anything you thin out be sure to leave in the container :) Yeah balsamic and hemp oil sounds niiiice. I have some here but saving the hemp oil for that sick patient who needs some medicated hemp oil. We have this store here called "oly olive oil" and its this amazing bulk place... half is exquisite olive oils from around the world (none more than 4 months old) and half is balsamic vinegars that are out of this world. I got one bottle of the fig balsamic vinegar. WOW..... but yeah so nice to snip or pinch your way to a fresh salad any time. We have a sunroom in our new house that we'll be doing lots of winter greens in soon.

I do have a site, I posted it once in the couple years I've been active on this site and no one seemed to care. https://sites.google.com/site/missgreendreams/ InJoy! ~mgd

The weather is hot hot hot.. and dry. 90° + and it will hopefully rain this weekend, for the first time in weeks.

Let me know, my 1000+ posts have to be useful for something ;)

I made another batch of hash/coconut oil today and it is WAY too potent!

gotta go back to the store for more coconut oil cause I don't have enough left over to dilute it adequately.

decarboxylating my hash makes such an insane diff in potency! I can't believe I never heard of the technique before a year or two ago.

I have yet to find a more efficient way to medicate.

10 grams of bubble hash is going to make me well over 120 caps. three caps a day keeps heady happy :D

I have yet to try it topically...

naw darc lol...I mean that no one important like mods ever cared that I posted a link to my personal web page... ya never know around here ;) Didn't want to get in trouble for advertising product...but if folks were asking i had no prob sharing. After all, it is a public web site like any other so it should be fine to share the info...

yeah headdy isn't it amazing! The guys at analytical360.com have been awesome in helping me fine tune my batches with getting that active cannabanoid percentage as high as possible while maintaining the integrity of the product/oil/brownie etc... check their site some time heady. you can search for miss green dreams stuff if its not expired yet. Fun to look at different strains and potencies as well... some of our nug has been tested via gas chromatography. Yeah the diff. is super insane once you learn the proper decarb. process. I've been bringing the oils up to like 220 degrees for a couple hours at least, then usually doing that cycle once more just to make sure after it cools down a little. As a topical medicine its crucial to get as fully decarbed as possible because there will be no further chance of decarbing... as in its not cooking oil that will go in to the oven again as brownies and get further decarboxylated at 325 for 35 min....

HEY CHIEF~ glad to hear you're doing up the coconut oil. It would be nice to try n' stuff some caps full as an alternative option for all my patients. I know lots of folks that would really like that. Perhaps this fall when I'm inside more and looking for a new project :)
