I think we had the warmest and sunniest november ever here in west germany... around 15 - 17°C in the afternoon the last days. But the last night was cold around 0°C so will be getting colder now. In october we had one day with 24°C a few weeks ago, was also a golden october with lots of sun(unfortunately no plants outside ^^ ).

I live in East Central Illinois and a cold front went through last night. We will be winter like probably till spring now. But it has been the best fall weather I can remember. We had a freeze early then mild and dry. Trees were beautiful and we got rain when we needed it. Bumper crop of corn and soybeans for the farmers that was easily and quickly harvested.

But the East coast is getting the remnants of a hurricane. And we almost got in on that with snow but it slid east.

For the last few years the hardest winter weather has come in early December.

Edit: One thing this year is it's been quite dry since mid summer, but very wet last summer-winter. And the Mississippi is very low now. This is how most of the corn and soybeans get exported. The Great Lakes if they freeze up early will further restrict the exportation of the goods.

Same here, spring was also very dry, first cornfields were harvested in late august. A lot of fires across europe. Nearly no snow but lots of rain last winter... for a few years now. Only in february 2021 we had a lot of snow in one week, it snowed for 2 days 24h. But since 2015 there was nearly no snow all the winters.

Just fucked up climate...

We get affected by the la Nina (wet) and el Nino (dry) equatorial Pacific weather patterns in our area. I think we are in the la Nina since summer. We were lucky to get a good rain last week as it has been quite dry since July.

Last winter was quite the snowy one. We had frozen ground, then 10 "on of snow, a warm melt to consolidate it then a heavy rain followed by a very cold freeze all in 48 hours.. Never seen anything like it in my life.

Perfect for getting a visual of the yard drainage as it was like a mini glacier under the snow with all the frozen rain. It creeped downhill all winter no matter the temperature filling in the low spots.
