Nice to see that im not alone with 250w hps.
Normaly i keep 1-3 plant and use scrog (i think that 250w is made for scrog)
normaly vegged 2-3 weeks.
dont have too much space for growing only 90x60x180cm closet.
setup is homemade hydro 250w hps with cooltube and couple computer fan.

i think that you will easly get 2 oz just dont worry with you plants and they will do nice.
Oh.....wow.....lol...man thats a crazy yield from any lighth..let alone a 250...damn...I have always been considering scrog..but I just hate the veg time lol....

alright i know this is a lot for my first post but here it goes;
2nd 250w grow, gonna go with a SCROG in a closet, i've heard so many mixed reviews from seed so i thought I'd ask myself... What have you guys had best results with (from seed) in this would be set up??
PS gonna be using FF Ocean Forest & the FF line

Damn this thread really has me excited to see what ill put out my first run. I know its gonna take some time, but hope to be able to pull some harvests like ones in this thread.
Whats yalls thoughts on running the 250 from the start for veg?
I currently have it several feet above the cups so not to burn anything.
Idk maybe best to run flouro's?

personaly i dont think it matters to much witch lights used for what but they say the higher kelvin rated lights have more vitamins for veg stage and keep the nodes tighter for longer veg plans.but if you plan on doing 12/12 from seed id stick with hps instead of cfls.depenidng on your setup .the cfl grow might take longer if its a lower wattage and non intense light.hope that helps.

Yeah I'm not going 12/12 from seed.
So think ima just go flouro for the first week or so
then switch them over.
Like I said man I got a lot to learn.

personaly speaking id say run it as much as you can .this is what i think if you put your buds in the dark with no air movement after the rooms been warm all day its more prone to get musty and moldy.

Great thread. I would say that the 250 watt HID is the most under appreciated light out there. Many times I cannot even find a 250 watt bulb or ballast in stock at hydro retailers. Now digital ballasts make the 250 even better. For the personal stash grower or med user this is the ticket. Cabinet and closet growers this is your lamp. Turn a digital 250 down to 50% and you can grow in almost any space. I bought a 400 digital and turned it down to 250. My plants grew better than they did on 400. If I ever find some the space for a separate veg chamber I will buy a digital 250. If anyone buys a 250 today as their first light and then upgrades to a 400 or 600 later, the 250 will still make a great veg lamp.
Ok, I have a 250watter myself and seen everybody's bud pics from here - best of the most amazing fat, cristaly-clear, dank NUGS!!! have to look at the 400w fan club to check out the buds there too and compare. Keep on the good work guys !

Just upgrade from 150 hps to a 250 hps. lst and scrog looks good Proper
Just stoppin by to give support to the 250 crowd. I run twin 250's in a 2x4' setup. Scrogged to tightness. Last year I ran Mosca's c99BX1 and had the canopy within a bunnies whisker of even for 3 runs before shutting down for summer. This year its the Sam Haze/skunk freebies. Out of 10 seeds 7 popped. 4 were males so 3 girls which is about right for that space. The boys are getting milked for pollen and will be used for seedstock. I think these genetics are worth using. Two phenos are similar. The odd one out is later developing. I have heard some of these can go 12 or more weeks. I bet I have a hard time keeping this canopy as tight as the c99. No pics for me. I have grown with bigger bulbs in bigger setups but my twin 250 scrog is exactly what I want, easy to manage and very productive. Enjoy.
Yes, it should be burning your hand if you are in an inch distance from the bulb, at least. You should get another one, that's not suitable for growing and could explode - something's not right with that bulb
