here's a link for cabinet construction:

I don't use a cabinet but have a very confined space. I have a home made cool tube built with a pyrex baking tube and would never go back to a straight bulb. The cool tube has three inline fans and the bulb can be as close as 2"-3" from the buds without harming them. In fact haven't burnt a single bud in the two years I've been using this setup.

Also gave up the perpetual harvest method in favor of SCROG, which is less headache and produces very nice buds. With a 20 gallon hydro reservoir and good nutrient monitoring it's no problem to take a couple days off.

Another good tip for confined spaces is to get yourself some northern lights. I just finished my first run of NL from Sensi Seeds and it was the absolute easiest to deal with in the more than twenty years I've been growing my own. No smell, no stretching, good tough branches and it packs a punch.

I usually get 1/4 lb. out of an eight week flowering cycle.

Let me know if you still want the measurements for the length of the cool tube.

Hello fellow 250er's! Been a while since i posted something on the forums... Anyway, I'm running four "Dr. Puffer"s (house hold name) right now under my 250. Clones, from two different mothers. Two of each. This is a week into 12/12. Build the tent myself! If any one is interested, I'll post an update again in a few weeks. Thanks guys! :tiphat:

Howdy ya'll. It's been a damn long time. Just thought I'd pop in and see what's going on. I was very happy to see the 250w club still going!

250 watt vert rdwc

250 watt vert rdwc

I've been looking at other peoples grows for a few years and I just got a digital camera, so I thought id finally share my setup I think I'm happy with.
I started in soil under a 150w and then started dwc and finally got a 250hps and made my dwc, a 4 bucket Rdwc with a vertical bulb and a circular scrog screen. My horizontal setups before didn't work well with more than 2 scrogged plants, but vertical allows 4 easily.

My setup:
250 watt Hps vertical
Rdwc with 4 2 gal buckets and a rez
Chiller: kept at 64 degrees
1 box fan sucking air to attic, 1 small fan below the bulb, and 1 recirculating fan near air intake.
The humidity is still high around 70, and the temps were up to 90s at times but with cooler weather its 70s and 80s.

4 clones: 2 Dj Shorts Blueberry, 2 Alien Bubba
I vegged them 2 weeks with the hps and then just switch to 12/12 and let them start to stretch around the circular scrog. They have been flowering exactly 2 weeks in the pics. Sorry its got the HPS glow, ill take more pics soon.

Im using Lucas formula for flowering, and i used GH maxigro for veg.

Ive learned so much on here the past few years, and i feel like i have finally built the perfect setup for my personal use. So any advice, tips or even comments would be awesome. I cant believe how much ive learned from people on here, I never thought I would build an RDWC with a chiller and a vertical bulb. So thanks everyone, heres my pics: The first four are at 2 weeks flowering, and the next four are at 3 weeks.

soon to be less then 7 F. (More intake needed)
190cfm to scrubbers 110 cfm for cooltube 70cfm for intake and a 80mm mixer

wrote up a good description in Vert section
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=223451

screen is filling in nicely still less than planned.
Skunk #1 in SWC is lagging big time (cant see in front right)
Hempy with DieselXKush is lagging some (in back of cabinet)
DxK in SWC is growing fast. (only plant really above the screen)

picture is day 2-3 of flower. just after lights out.
Girls are being PITA. They flowered when I attempted to veg with HPS.

Been wanting to join for a while now, but dont have a good camera. I finally said 'what the heck' and took a shot of the garden. So Im sorry for lame picture in advance

The Cab is a storage cabinet that you might find in a garage. measures 72'' tall, 36'' wide, and 20'' deep. have an active air carbon filter not seen in pic and a 250CFM duct booster pulling air through the cab and the scrubber. There are 17 (normally 18 but had to kill one) TGA's Space Queen in 1gal water jugs that i turned into Hempy buckets. Been growing perpetually SOG for a while now but will be changing to a normal SOG for larger harvest. been averaging 12-14g per plant so i figure on a normal SOG i should be around 5-7oz per cycle give or take. Only time will tell if that is accurate.

So I didnt weigh my take this run but supposedly the rule is half the time if half the size? I run 2-4 5gals under my 250. I was thinking about switching to you know, 9x 2 gals or whatever fits. I'm soil so should I switch to smaller quicker?

i dont really buy into that idea fully. it really depends on if you have an area for veg or not. if you veg and flower under the same light then going with more smaller plants might save you a few weeks in veg time. but as far as flowering goes, i havent seen too much of a difference between my smaller plants now, and when i did large 5gal plant. the reason i changed from 5gal to 1gal was because of total volume used. before, i could only fit 3x 5gal pots in there for a total of 15gal. now i am using 18gal. this is a 20% increase in medium used which has turned out to be about 10-15% increase of usable plant matter. so for you, if you are using 4x 5gal pots, you should be better off with that versus using 9x 2gal. the only advantage to using smaller containers i see for you, would be if you wanted to go perpetual.

Hello fellow 250 watters. Just recently began growing with the 250 and a cool tube. Super happy with the results. Great for a micro grow, produces nice buds for personal use.

Here's the main cola of FMS Grapefruit under a 250 in a 3.5 gallon homemade DWC bucket at about 34 days.

Happy growing. :tiphat:

Decided to switch to a 250w hps this time, heres my set-up, its still a work in progress and is still missing a 4" exhaust fan and carbon filter and another small fan to keep the tent cool. This tent is smaller than i thought the measurements are 3ft tall x 2.5ft wide x 2ft deep. Would i be able to get away with heat from what i have listed up? I was originally gonna go with a 150w hps instead but since i have this 250w from my last grow that i didnt get to use because of heating issues i've decided to use it this time with this new tent here. If u guys see anything that should be moved or anything else that i would need to make it work please feel free to let me know, thanks.
