250w HPS users....

wow, i started this thread a year ago... good to see its still around and good to see more 250s popping up

im starting my next grow (3rd). just took some cuttings from my Sour Diesel IBL mom and popped them in the bubble cloner

i also just germed some seeds:

5 seeds from a BOG Medley (Blue Moon Rocks, Bogglegum, Bogbubble)
5 Sadhu (mandala seeds)

doing something different this time around. more plants, smaller containers, less veg time. yield isnt as important to me this time around. going for variety and hopefully to find some keeper moms

going to also get a cooltube for this time around. a little worried about my sour diesels because of height restrictions. ill probably train em (LST) to keep em short with very little veg

now that i have a seperate area for vegging, i think im going to have a nice little perpetual SOG of sorts going. which is good because i still have other seeds waiting that i want to get to this year

ill post pics when things get interesting... and ill probably start a grow journal

in the meantime, here is a pic from my last grow... sour diesel ibl, scrog, only 2 plants under the 250... this was at day 66... they went until 75-80... still smoking this stuff

Hello all,

I thougth I post what I willbe harvesting in about a week to two tweeks.

She is a Superskunk x NL#5 cross that is just so tasty and stoney.

At the moment, she is in a lifeboat as I have flower cabinet modifications tomorrow so I had to put them in here for the reast of thier day and night.

Here's my sour bubble at 5 weeks, the cfl really brings out the trichomes.

And 1 of 3 yumbolt phenos. The yumbolts are just finally starting to show some nice bud structure and trichomes.

That pic is about a week old. They are just starting to be chopped now and I will get pics up within a week or 2. Some of the larger buds will get up to an extra week, maybe a few days longer even.

Hey all, just dropping by to update this thread and keep it at the front. It was nice to read when I was waiting for my 250!

12/12 from seed, week 7, 4 bagseed, 1 white rhino, 1 the church.

I had a problem with my ballast, over time it had gotten darker and darker (I thought it was the light bulb at first). Well I got a digital ballast the other day, and quickly realized how bad it had gotten. It's like twice as bright now! Next grow's gonna be nice.

BTW I just tried some of the Yumbolt because one of the branches had broken most of the way off, and damn it is tasty and potent. Pretty heady but nice high, of course it's a few weeks early still.

Hello all,

Heres a pic of a Superskunk x NL#5. She is some real good smoke- I got an 32 grams from her dry using a 3(dry) gallon pot using 50/30/20 of FFOF, perlite, ewc/compost.


I am not much for the gram/watt as an estimation of garden efficency...due mostly because this is just one plant and I have space for four at a time.


Heres, what in there now:




There is one AK48 that is from clone and is a keeper strain. Another is a unknown genetics. It is a bag seed from a local grower of some reputation from Mendocino for fine herb...was given to me and told I would not regret it....so we will see. I shall call her MBS (Mendocino bag seed). There are more of her strain to be had so I did not clone this one either.

The last plant in there is a NRS KC33 x Master Kush...this is keeping me up at nights....I have searched for grow reports on this strain and they are not many and what there is are not clear or very favorable.

I am questioning my reasoning for keeping her....I bought the seeds two years ago when I did not know as much as I do now with regard to strains (and growing for that matter)
Anyway, I have high hopes for the MBS. As to the KC33- well if its not up to par, I can gift it to others. You know, because I did not clone this girl, she will likely turn out killer just to spite me.lol


I am seriously thinking on getting a digital ballast. Since I made the modifications to the cabinet, I may be able to get a 400w in there but the summer temps will dictate if I can move up in power.

Would 250 be way too much for a screen measuring 17in x 19in (2ft^2) with 4ft of height and 110cfm? It's 125w/sqft, may not be efficient right?

dasme, I don' think thats way too much. Maybe alot, but not too much. Of course personally I'd dish the screen in a half circle around the light for one extra ft^2. The grow above by NevimKdo is in 2.7 ft^2. You can do it in 4ft of height im sure.

minds_i, yeah I'd love to get a 250 digi balast some day, seems like there is no reason not too. I have been thinking about moving up in watts but I want to see how much I can get out of a 250 in vertical scrog sometime. haha I wish I could be as connesiur-like about strains as you, I know nothing.

Wanted to ask an opinion of my fellow 250 users. This is my first grow under the 250, second grow overall. I have 6 plants which I started at 12/12 they are at day 63 right now. Next time around I will veg for 2-3 weeks but Im not sure if I should do 4 or 6 plants. My cab is 2.5 wide by 1.5 deep and 3.5 tall. The 6 plants fit in the cab fine in 6 liter pots, but the light intensity towards the outer parts is obviously not as intense. Will 4 plants with more intense light yield better than having 6? Hope it made sense, wake n bake for me today.

In a small sog, which do you think would yeild more at the end given all other factors on point.

12 x Two Liter soda bottles. Shooting for 10g per plant...4zs
or
6 x Half Gallon Bags. Shootin for 19g per plant...4zs

No scrog or LST...Dont mind the work but dont have the time...

Hey International, I dont want to flood the forum with my pics, but I just posted in the 12/12 forum here. http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=955396#post955396 I have 6 plants under a 250 in a coolshade. 12/12 from seed although the first 2 weeks or so they were under CFL's (hadnt bought the 250 yet).

ok. 250 can mos def give some decent results....all your guys' pics are sweet as fridge.

I've taken a slightly modified approach to the 250w scene. I have a 100w MH and a 150W HPS. I figured if I gave my babies the full package, they'd show me their true potential (just a hunch).




here are a couple pics from my current grow, these were taken at 4 weeks of veg. done under 2 weeks of 24, and 2 weeks of 18-6. I'll take a few more when they are fully budding.

They're 1 gallon. My last grow had 12 but i did do a sour bubble sog with 9 a while ago.
