250W CFL DWC Chronic SCROG Grow

Yep, there is definitely no smell whatsoever. I had a guest over the other night and he couldn't smell it even after I told him I was doing a grow (yeah, I know...I shouldn't tell anybody).

The yellowing is still there after flushing with plain water for a couple of days, and then only using 15mL/gallon of PBP Bloom and 5mL/gallon of CalMag for a week. The spreado fhte yellowing has slowed, but not entirely stopped.

Last night I upped the nutes to 30mL/gallon of PBP Bloom and 5mL/gallon of CalMag.

I'll take pics in a couple of days to show how things are going.

The cabinet temperatures are quite high: 90F+ when the light is on. Nothing much I can do about that. Will the temps affect nutrient uptake?

how often are you changing your res? your nutrient schedule seems fairly light, so i would guess either your water is not being changed often enough, or perhaps you have bad water that is having a negative effect on the plants nutrient uptake. you should get your water tested either way so you know for the future.

heres some amnesia haze at week 13

have fun, i hope your yield is solid!

End of week 6; flush or more nutes?

End of week 6; flush or more nutes?

Okay, I am at the end of week 6 and I will be harvesting at the end of week 8 (that's in 2 weeks for all you Borats out there...heh). I lowered the light to 10 inches from the tops of the cola.

Now, I am in a conundrum: should I up the nutes of PBP Bloom to 45 mL/gallon, or keep it the same? Or, should I go with some high P-K additive like Liquid Karma (if I did this, I would use 30 mL/gallon of PBP Bloom)?

Or, should I just start flushing now for the next 2 weeks?

suckerrepellent- I top off nutes every 3-4 days and totally change nutes once a week, btw.

That goddman discoloration is still there and not getting any better. I want to fucking fix this!

Well, I started to flush today. Colas are about the same size as before. The trichromes are starting to get some amber in them.

I'm going to flush for at least a week before harvest.

The irony is that I may not be able to smoke the fruits of my labour for a while because an old job application was re-activated with a potential employer recently, so I am going to stay clean for a while in case I get a job offer; don't want to fail a drug test for a better job!

i would flush for two weeks, that'll bring out the taste the best, imho. at least the drug test will allow you to give those buds a nice long cure. :yummy:

Harvest!

Harvest!

Okay, after 66 days of flower and 12 days of flushing, I harvested!

I let the water get too low and the plants yellowed quite a bit. Rather, I assume because they went a day or 2 with virtually no water in the reservoir, they yellowed and browned a good bit.

Trichromes seem more clear then before; 80% clear, 15% cloudy and 5% amber.

Weird.

Anyway, I'm going to let them dry and then I'll weigh the buds for a final dry weight harvest.

Oh yeah, I have deemed that homemade DWC was a failure, so it has been completely dismantled it and thrown out (somewhere safe, of course).

Next time, I'll just go do a soil grow in the Rubbermaids to see how it works out.

But not until next season.

looks like you did alright for yourself. Can't wait to hear how many seeds ya got outa that! I'm in the same position with a potential drug test coming up so i know how ya feel. It sucks not being able to celebrate the biggest holiday of the year.
I think some instructions for growing hydroponically must be overcomplicated or something. I'm doing my first grow in hydro right now using a way undersized swc system (4 plants, 1.5 gallons) with an identically sized soil grow right next to it (down to 3 plants in soil as of today due to sexing). All i'm using is a modified Lucas formula (i've just been gradually upping the GH flora bloom from 16mL/gallon and im currently at 22 mL/gallon). the veg formula was 0-5-10 (grow-micro-bloom), which i stuck to, and the flowering formula is 0-8-16, which i already mentioned i've been devating from. other than that i just use a cheap pH and TDS meter (don't really need the TDS, more a novelty thing i discovered) some aquarium use pH up/down, and a bit of tap water that averages 150ppm with a pH of a little over 7. I just keep the pH around 6.5 and they're happy. lke i said, im just using a little 1.5 gallon sterlite container, tinfoil ducttaped on over the lid and around the base, a 20-60 gallon dual outlet wally world airpump, and a 150w HPS in a 22 gallon rubbermaid, so nothing sophicated.
what im trying to say is, if i can do it, you probably can too. you may have just made it too complicated.
anyway, i hope you don't take this as bashing, im just kinda saying you might want to give hydro another chance if yields and speed are your thing

Thanks guys! Yeah, I have a tendency to make things more complicated than they need to be. Next Rubbermaid grow will definitely be in soil with a SCROG: nice and easy.

I'll post dry harvest weight and some seed pics so you know how well they did, too. If all goes well, I'm going to have a metric shit-ton of seeds! :D

Weight!

Weight!

Okay, the results are in:

80 grams of dried bud, including seeds.

Not too bad.

Next time, I'm going to go with more plants

I must have gotten several hundred F2 seeds.

I'm going to cure the buds for a month and then de-seed them. And smoke my ass off.

very nice grow. can not wait to get a final seed tally........the seeds look nice by the way.

Wow, I haven't been back here for a while.

Okay, final tally: I got over 2000 seeds from these plants.

I went to the local convenience store and got a ton of crack baggies, threw on a couple of movies and split them up into 10-seed bags.

Fun way to spend a Saturday night. Woo-hoo!
