Cali, my experience being near you was that ALL my plants experienced an odd growth snap maybe a month ago and have since grown out.
I'd suggest fly paper hung off somewhere near the soil. Possibly a spinosad wash, but that would be my LAST line of defense.
Otherwise your plants look magnificently short and happy. Keep up the good work.

Try rotating with the organocide 3 in 1 which is sesame oil IIRC. Environmentally those pits look great for retaining water but might be more like nests for critters and bugs than raised mounds mulched with chopped straw for example. I would say clean out yet more lower fan leaves anything touching the ground but it looks like you might be past that kind of micromanagement. Don't mind me nitpicking is my specialty :)

If they are still veg now is the time to clean everything up and treat with whatever stronger stuff and clean the yard and sweep to get rid of ants debris places and food for pests etc. Hopefully you can knock them back enough to get relief for flowering. In my yard a lot of the space has been used for beneficial bug mixes and tall grasses etc. If you are in an agricultural area you might be at the mercy of the local farms but I'm not sure, I think pests are different everywhere.

Also during veg you can raise the humidity and knock the aphids off by hosing them down once or twice a day. Easiest way to lower the temperature.

If you rotate feeding about 15% strength with wetting agent and/or plain water with leaf removal, rather than introducing mold potential you're more likely washing them and keeping them healthy.

We also in Central Valley. Use Garlic and Red Pepper Spray. Works wonders on pest . Use seaweed extract for heat protection and growth.
