Some nice warm sunnyish days coming up.....

Outlook is for warm dry settled weather in most places. FRIDAY NIGHT: Very mild, humid and misty on Friday night. Dry in many areas apart from some drizzle but there will be rain in parts of Kerry. SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Warm, humid conditions are expected over the weekend and dry in most places. However it looks as if southwestern counties will have a lot of cloud with rain at times on Saturday but this dying away on Sunday. For the rest of the country the weekend looks like being dry and warm with sunshine at times, probably best during Sunday and afternoon temperatures in the high teens or around 20 degrees in parts of the west, very high for early October. Feeling cooler at times near the east coast due to a brisk easterly breezeMONDAY: Dry and bright on Monday with sunshine in many areas and afternoon temperatures a little lower in the mid to high teens but winds lighter than over the weekend, just a moderate easterly breeze.

Your weather is pretty much what the last 2 days have been like here . Dry sunny breeze , daily for the last 2wks i have been nipping any bad bud & putting it in the freezer , rain rain . The last 2 days it`s dropped 70-80% , i`ll watch Countryfile to get the weather & if we have a few more days of this i`ll decide which plants to cut early . Sometimes a fresh clear thriche gives you hell of a buzz . Some of my plants are showing very little bad bud & i reckon these might get right through , if they can shed the rain we`ve had they show good promise .

WOW wish my buds were as frosty... or as big..... if i get a camera sorted ill post a few pics but mine broke again and my phone camera is shit...... im getting spots of powdery mildew on a few leaves and have to keep tearing of the larger fan leaves to increse airflow but it seems to work... anyone know if honey works as well as molasses or if theres any other methods for filling out buds ???

honey is totally different as molasses sugar/carbohydrate is easily broken down & absorbed by the plant unlike any other sugar .

CM , pic 3 was a week b4 pic 4 & 4 had just a few cloudy triches , i cut it early as we had a very long wet spell & rot spores were beginning to creep .
Remember pic 3 & 4 when reading mail .

I have to say when im in dublin though I just love the porterhouse. There oyster stout is one of the nicest stouts ive ever had.

Anyway, back to the point. Hello all. I dont post often here as I've not grown for almost a year but have taken it up again recently. Got 6 Chronic and 1 cole train on the go at the mo. Will be scroggin the lot and hopefully harvesting mid february.. Anyway, back at the homeplace my family have around 6 cres of land. Now, we have this land almost 3 or 4 years now I'd say bu the thng is before we bought it it was owned by a farmer. There was this huge 20x10 x 6foot deep pit FULL of cow shit and decomposed carcasses. When we bought the land we spread the whole thing over an area of about a half acre. maybe a bit more... This soil is just amazing now.... Its just so loose and has amazing drainage...

My question is.... Do you think this soil would be good for throwin out 30 + clones mid may? Would the soil be too rich? Would adding nutes myslf be too uch in your opinion???

And cudos on the grows guys. You've persuaded me to give it a lash next season.... Top One!

The soil wont be too fertile, my spot in the garden has had tonnes ( literally) of compost dug into it over the past 20 years and I still add blood n bone, lime, cow and chicken manure every winter and spring.
Once my plants go into the ground they rarely get fed anything but liquid sea weed.

That being said I usually do most of the soil amending in January and March, gives the soil time to settle down and the frost does a great job of breaking up the soil after it has been dug a few times.

cow shit is suppose to be great, maybe take some soil samples to find out or if you can send them off to johnstown for free.

Hey guys. Thanks for the reply about the soil... wasnt too sure as never really did an outdoor crop..... Well the location is about 3 miles outside a small villiage in the west of ireland... Down a country lane and then 2 fields down so fairly out of the way. I'm not too worried as its the familys land and people shouldnt really be in there... Mother doesnt mind me growin either, she suffers from arthritis and doesnt mind the odd puff to help her sleep... we have neighbors up the road a bit. theyre cool though. bit far to smell id say. Wellgoing by reading up on outdoor strains, And I've been doing this for years but never got down to it I'll be going with the danish strains... Typhoon after reaing the reports on here definitely... Libannon30 for the colors, unless someone can recommend otherwise.. Never grew purps before but would love to... And then,b3n7 (erdpurt x royal dane) f2. Always wanted to try royal dane. Do you think this is a good selection?

I'll probably start them inside over the x mas then take clones to ensure females...

I found budrot today and my plant needs at least another week for potency and another 2 for a strong smoke and sizable buds i tore off the bud with budrot and theres a spot of rot on another cola which i didnt remove. I gave it a good spray with asperin dissolved in water. What should i do???
After all my hard work and waiting it seems unfair that my harvest quality and quantity is deminished because of bad weather conditions and botrytis.

Remove all the mouldy bits Hugh if you leave any it will just spread.
If you dont have a commercial spray try milk or baking soda and check the plants every day.

If it looks like your losing the battle harvest early.

+1 to what the cook has just said. Get rid of any sign of that mold or you've already lost the battle!

There isnt too much you can do really about rot at this stage, there are products like bud rot stop, and serenade (which are basically the same product from different companies from what i can see..... or at least they're both working off the same microbe - Bacillus subtilis), but from what i know your supposed to start treating plants before the problem occurs, rather than when it occurs.

Not much help to ya now, but introducing trichoderma into your soil mix has also been shown to prevent and/or minimise the colonisation and spread of Botrytis.

TUESDAY night will become mostly dry, with long clear spells developing, and showers retreating back to north and northwest coasts. Turning very cold, with just light northerly breezes. Temperatures will dip below freezing in some parts, giving a sharp frost.

same place i think , thers an ag lab there also where farmers can send in soil samples for free, not sure if they still do it though.

i use baking soda and water and mist the plants, going to get some professional stuff though next time.

luck with the weather had to change eventually

visited plants couple of weeks ago and plucked some typhoon and got some seeds, one smelt like dogshit while the others smell exactly like cadburys chocolate, also got some ggvdp which were root bound and fucked up which now smell very lemony.

when i was there i thought they were going really slow, asked around and found out that since im growing in containers the roots are exposed way too much to the cold and are going to take ages

had to go back and wrap them up, visited them yesterday and a few have definitely made progress.

also after battling stem mold the best solution is to cake it in baking soda.

my lone female afghan nigerian is also budding nicely, hoping i get some thing off her
