lookin great BC. i always see something new and informational as i check in on your grow. Unfortunately my friend got me into a lil bit of trouble but i will be updating my grow this weeknd as i am putting out some little clones that will hopefully each at least yield an ounce.....
Yep, its been unseasonably cool, with a little rain, not normal fare. I did eat a cherry tomato out of the garden the other day, but I'm affraid they might get impatient with this weird weather.
hello agian BC i was wondering alittle about your breeding. You showerd some plants there that u said we for seed. Do u just keep that crop far from the others or is there another way u prevent mass pollination of the other plants?
i like how you threw the forced flowering plants into the thread... nice little surprise! (and secure).
its gettin' to be that time to start seeing pre-flowers from the big contenders or what? august is an interesting month, let's all prepare. thundercats! - HO!!!!
newRandude- Yeah, the weather has been nice, not too warm, not too cold, although in my little corner we have had a good bit of overcast some days lately.
The Dancing Man-Yeah, I generally keep my plants ment for seed well isolated from the rest, and each strain isolated from each other(ubless I am crossing strains of course).
Paddi-Thankyou, I think I will!
Elevate- Yeah, I should start seeing serious blooms here in about 2-4 weeks, and then picking up steam from there.
I should get out to get water on my babies next few days, since all the wet weather seems to have past.
BC heeey man how you doing? I just got back from my surgery ordeal and realized I haven't seen your thread in a whiiile! You gotta love that you can force plants to flower even outdoors, and get weed whenever! It's just fucking great! Those girls you flowered look tasty, what do they smell like? Is there a nice high? I'm sure there is you have kept this strain for a while right...Anyway your outdoors is looking good as always man, cant wait to see it in the end. Happy growing!
Mossy- Thankyou! Auto-flowering strains are usefull for lots of reasons I see, they would be handy for emergency bud like I needed, especially since I would not need to to Cap them and un-cap them every day.
They would also alow me to grow decent sized crops in the very remote high mountain areas around me, where the grow season is too short for most strains.
caligreen- Well, I hope the surgery went well.......I'm guessing it did!
All four of the plants I forced smell pretty great, there is nothing like fresh outdoor, especially out of season!
They have just dried enough to smoke, and I've only tested the OR95 and one of the OR/N hybrids, the OR95 so far is the winner in this batch for overall potentcy, and also for strength of taste/aroma, she also seems to be the most mature of all the plants.
The first OR/N I tested last night was also fairly potent, although the high is not as fast hitting or long lasting as the OR95, but any free/fresh bud is better than buying it!
Now I just gotta control myslef and make it last until I can steal little buds off the main crop here and there, I hope I never have to grow anything but my main crop ever again, I think I'll have plenty this year!
Nice ass photography BC.
I am moving to New Orleans Friday. I am not sure about this year, but maybe next. When I look at a beautiful place in Washington I feel weed should be there too. Fucking facist.
Well, it seems that the wet part of this cool/dim weather has ended, and it also seems that the cool/dim part might lift soon too. I figured it was time to do a good round of watering before anymore freak hot weather hits without warning!
HM#1, C99xOR95-
The cool/wet spell we had seems to have allowed this plant to do some healing, she is looking lots less wilty. Still signs of moisture stress, but I think I can pull her through to harvest season, she won't yield the 1/2lb I was hopping for, but I'm sure she'll still weigh in good.
Last trip up, I took a bucket and conected a vinyl tube stuffed with Sponge, and burried it about 6" below the ground. The idea was to give the plant 2 gallons now, and slowely let 2 more gallons drip into the hole below surface for the next day or so.
The sponge seemed to get plugged some how after 2/3rds of the bucket emptied. I removed the sponge and reburried the hose unplugged, looks like it will work.
Next time I try to use a spot with this much sun, I will dig a even bigger hole, and plan on storing and using lots of water!
HM #2-
Its hard to see, but this plant was layed down against and tied down to the plants behind it, in a effort to make sure it stays hidden. She is ajusting to the change.
After I left the HM#2 plot, I headed up the hill to the nearest skid trail(a temporary dirt logging road), as I walked uphill in the short dry grass I noticed a Deer fawns skull laying off to my right. This instantly made me think of the Cougar that probably ate it, this also mad me think of the Cougar sightings in my neighborhood lately.......then I noticed something 6' ahead off my left side dart towards the nearest bushes, it was a Timber rattler!!
It did not rattle once the whole time, even when I went a bit closer to snap a few shots, he just stayed still in the bushes, and did nothing to tip me off he was there.
This was the most you can see of him once he was in the bushes.
Next I journied to my seed farm-
I'll need to move the plants to seperate plots according to strain soon, the start of blooming season is around the corner!!
I'll try to get my visit to my big plot(HM#3) up soon, its time to relax and think about bed.......
Damn that fuckin rattlesnake didn't even warn you he was there?!?!? Thats fucked up man, we have a code with the snakes maan. They warn us when we get to close, and we don't shoot them and make them extinct right?!? I thought that was the ruuule fuck. hahah, good thing you saw him first BC. I have come across a snake recently, but it was just a 3ft long corn snake that my roomate actually picked up no problem. Don't be tryin that with that rattler! Be careful about that cougar too man, maybe you should carry like mace, would that scare the beast off if you shot it in the face? haha that rhymes, PEACE BC!
BACKCOUNTRY..can you force flower PART of a plant..
or does it have to be a whole one...
I have a multi-harvest project going...and I was wondering..
if I found some way to black-cap the top of a plant..
would it be possible to force part of her only..
I am sure they do it with Rhubarb..
It may work, but it may not.... Many plant hormones enter the phloem, which would allow them to move around the entire plant.... But, how cool would that be to stagger harvest on the same plant! That would be the ultimate perpetual garden! Try it! Try it!
