First off I would buy a put a doorknob that locks with a key and lock it, we all know how family is with looking around a new place and checking it out specially 3 days worth of them accidentally opening the wrong door looking for a towel or bathroom tissue! Doorknob 15 bucks from Homedepot.
As for the door I had to use a extra blanket or something bigger then the door edges and use push pins to secure it up, use those push pins like there going out of style and put them in at an angle so they don't just pull out when you open the door. I hope this helps bro I had to do this for the exact same reason lol. ~Vince
THANKS!!!!

I'm going to tack it down BIGTIME... I will make sure it is Light proof before they arrive....

I will check the other bedrooms for a Door Lock Knob that is facing the same direction.... If not... I will use your suggestion and just buy a cheapy...

I just checked again.... it's only been a few hours since the last time....

Seeds are popping through the surface all over the place...

It's really exciting.

So far....

IMO, Grodan Rockwool Cubes SUCK!!!! (Dried out... then too wet..)

Peat Pellets have been MUCH easier. Note to any Newbs with only a few seeds.

So Far...

it's been 4 days since I popped in the Fridge and 3 days since I dropped into the Peat Pellets...

1 Seed is FULLY out. (pictured above)
2 are just as tall but haven't dropped the seed yet.
1 Popped through today and still has it's seed on... and is a little shorter
1 is about to stand up and is showing a bent white and green spot through the soil.

Thats 50% so far.

I'm hoping that the other five show a little movement tonight.

I think it's pretty normal for some to lag... right?

From the look of the 1 in the pic its ready to go in DWC.
Once they look like that they can be put in DWC because they have a nice taproot and they are still young enough to not have a crazy root system everywhere that you have to untangle from your rapid rooter medium. ~Vince

THANKS! I'm getting ready to transplant ASAP.... My only concern was the power of the 400w MH... but it can't be near as strong as the sun...

I'm going to raise the light higher and transplant today.... Also...

I guess it's time to take the bagseed out of the DWC and transplant into soil...

I kinda wish I had purchase Female seeds now... because... Crap... if the 4 I put into DWC right now turn out to be males... and the ones I'm going to put into soil turn out to be females.... I'm going to have to transplant from soil... into my dwc... Kinda lame.

Anyways.... 5 of 10 have popped through strong. 1 is about to break through the soil....

and... the other 4 haven't done crap... so I took the seeds out of the Jiffy Pellets and as thought... nothing.. not even a tail.

So... I cleaned in RO water and then threw into a wet paper towel in a Zippy in the drawer in my grow room where it's nice and warm.

Hopefully the other 4 pop soon... then it's back into jiffy pellets.

Wish me luck.

So stoked right now....

I checked on the 4 lowryder seeds that didn't crack. (I used wet paper towel method after nothing happened)

and... after 24 hours... one out of those 4 has cracked and showed a tail.

So.. I warmed up some water and got the Peat pellets ready...

I'm hoping that is 1 more female and at least one more ounce.

The 7th seed sprouted today... woo hoo!

Hoping the other 3 have tails today.... it's weird how slow some of the seeds can be compared to others...

When to start adding nutes to the reservoir?

When to start adding nutes to the reservoir?

So, It's been two weeks since I started the seeds...

out of 7 total seeds that sprouted:

4 sprouted within a day or two
2 Followed shortly behind
1 showed through the soil a only 1 week ago.

I put the fastest 4 into the DWC and will hope they are all female... If not I will transplant from the other 3 that are in FFOF soil until sex shows.

Is it time to do a Reservoir change from reverse osmosis to Reverse Osmosis and a small dose of my Veg Nutes?

They are still so small...

But... they all have finished the first four single leaves and are starting to spread into more?

Well yes it is normally time to add nutes at week 2 depending on how they look.
A pic would clear things up.
I would hate myself if I blindly said "Oh yes add nutes not knowing that your plants are not mature enough to handle the nutrients you are adding especially since its a lil more complex since they are dry powder nutes and what I've read going to be your first time.
To specify on my behalf you did get that ppm meter correct, and you have a PH tester already right?
~Vince PS ill be hanging around to see if you respond so we can get this issue (question) resolved today.

Updated Pictures

Updated Pictures

Here are the Four Lowryders that are in the DWC.

They all look really healthy, two have roots in the water...

Family has been here so it was a little warm in the room...
(Closed and locked most of the time)

Now things are good, I just did a reservoir change.

The Water is RO with Half strength GH Maxigro Powdered Nutes. (1 Teaspoon per gallon)

Temperature of water is around 68-70 degrees and the PH is around 5.8 right now. (Room temp is about 80)

Once my Lowryder's go into flower.... I was planning on switching the lights to 18/6 to start the other two big plants into flowering as well.

Question?

Is 18/6 enough to start the Big Bagseed Females into flowering?

Or... should I go 12/12 and hope my lowryder's turn out strong still?

I am currently using a 400MH bulb...

I think that within the next two-three weeks I will pick up a 400W HPS conversion bulb that will work on my 400WMH ballast... Any advice on the Conversion Bulb.... Is it really worth it? or should I just stick with my MH?

Thanks

Ive heard and seen people grow plants from 12/12 and never do the 18/6 or 24/0
with good results.
But if it where me I rather have nice big plants then go 12/12.
But again I'm not that knowledgeable of auto flowering plants, I'm sorry for that bro!
As for the conversion bulb yes they are worth it as far as I know, mainly b/c of the money you save not buying a HPS ballast. One thing is to make sure before you buy is that the the clearance of the bulb your going to buy has clearance so not to hit your reflector on the MH ballast reflector and the bulb wattage, you can get a bulb that is under wattage of your ballast but not over. I'm probably not telling you anything new I was just making sure nothing was overlooked Bro ~Vince
