Well... The Water Chiller looks awesome... and thanks for the idea.

But I'm electing to shuffle water bottles....

At least until next time.

Thanks so much for the input. I'll be freezing bottles tommorow and getting things dialed before I put my lowryders in.

Until then... I transplanted the Two Plants I got the other day in FFOF with some perlite... then fed a baby dose of maxigro and superthrive...

There were roots EVERYwhere when I went to transplant, I cant wait to see how they react to the space and soil.

Seeds are now in the fridge.... tonight I will be dropping them in water for the night.

In the morning I will mix 1/2 drop of superthrive in 1 gallon of warm water and pour over the peat pellets. Then I will throw the seeds into the Peat Pellets in a tray with a Clear Plastic dome...

Question?????

Should I put them in the back of my grow room? They will be getting a little bit of light from the 400W MH but not directly...

Is that stupid?

I have a 150 watt Full Spectrum grow light bulb that I could throw into a desk lamp....

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I always use superthrive all throughout my grow. Fantastic stuff. I'm not a big fan of the autos but I understand and can appreciate your position "we do what we have to to do to get where we wanna be, then we can do what we wanna do." I start my seeds in paper towels with water out of the tap, put the paper towel in a butter dish, wrap it up in a towel and sit it near your 400w light... they'll pop within 24 hrs. My next run will be my 1st DWC as well, so I'll be watchin :lurk:

Sounds Good Foothills...

I just woke up, my seeds sank in the shotglass last night.

I'm going to mix up two gallons of warm RO with one drop of superthrive.

Then I'm going to take some of that warm water mixture and soak my peat pellets until they are ready to go.....

Then...

I'll upload a picture.

FINALLY... A start to this journal.

Today is DAY 1.

T minus 60 days to Harvest and Counting....

Okay, so.... The peat pellets are soaked, have seeds in them and are sitting in the BACK of my closet where a little bit of 400wMH light can touch them...

I'm hoping for 100% germ rate and 100% female Ratio...

Who's with me!!!

Oh and what does anyone know about this Purple Ryder? What is it?

100% germ, probably..... 100% female, lol no.

They say purp ryder should be out in the fall or the winter to but... Its unrelesed due to breeding problems, good luck tho, hopefully you will be able to look at pics and identify the different strains, a mix pack sounds fun! but i wish they were femms

So it's official... The two Lowryder/AK47's are Gone.

I opened up the rockwool and found mold and rot....

Talk about an expensive lesson... damn.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I have started many seeds in rockwool in the past, before I switched to rapid rooters, and never really had an issue. I used to, however, soak the rockwool in distilled water with a little pH down for a couple of days before using them and also made sure that the cubes weren't too soggy when I stuck the seeds in. But now I am a big fan of the rapid rooters. :D

Heck ya DAY2!!! How the seeds looking any sprouts?
Whats the back yard garden looking like?
I'm glad the ice bottle trick worked great for you! ~Vince

Day 2!

No Sprouts yet... I'm sure they just fired off a Tail down there last night... Hopefully late tonight or tomorrow night I will see the first little sprouts popping through....

I checked the Roots again this morning on my strong bagseed in DWC and the ROOTS have almost doubled.... Crazy.

well... Until I see some sprouts... Peace

Went to make sure they aren't drying out (it's really dry here) and they are doing GREAT.

I can see white root on one already.

I have been checking the PH of my DWC reservoir everyday and it seems like the PH has been slowly rising... Just a little tiny bit each day.

Today it was getting close to 6.6 - 7.0

So, I drained two gallons (out of about 14-15) then added fresh GH maxigro nutes and one drop superthrive.

I dumped into the Res. and waited a few minutes before I checked the PH again....

Ahhh... Perfect.... about 5.8 - 6.0

It seems like perfect timing... I am finally understanding... Just in time for my lowryders.

Man... Can't wait till this is done and I can grow some Gnarly strains.

Anyone else know if Purple Ryder is out yet??? It says on the pack that there is Purple Ryder Included.... but others seem to think that it hasn't been released yet???

Okay.... Family is coming to town for three days... How can I block the light from coming around the sides of the closet door?

Inside my closet, the wall on the right is the backside of the Garage... So I was thinking about cutting a whole though the wall and putting my fan in front of it.... That way the temp stays cool once I seal the door off...

Anyways... Back to my question....

The door is a NICE wood door... and I need to open it everyday to check on my babies....

Is there something simple I'm just not thinking of to block the light all around the edges without F'ing up the door?

First off I would buy a put a doorknob that locks with a key and lock it, we all know how family is with looking around a new place and checking it out specially 3 days worth of them accidentally opening the wrong door looking for a towel or bathroom tissue! Doorknob 15 bucks from Homedepot.
As for the door I had to use a extra blanket or something bigger then the door edges and use push pins to secure it up, use those push pins like there going out of style and put them in at an angle so they don't just pull out when you open the door. I hope this helps bro I had to do this for the exact same reason lol. ~Vince
