btw that "sickness" looks very strange. doesn't look like temperature or light burn problems at all... most likely nutrient related but it's very subtle and nondescript. Have you fed her yet? make sure she gets all the micronutrients she needs too.
Thanks for the remarks guys. Krypton, yea found out it was a nute defiency problem and I fed it two days ago. It's looking much better, thanks. Ohh and I am running 3 85 watt 6500k CFL's that equate to 12,600 Lumens, the lights are always no more than 2-3 inches away and I'm using Fox Farm's Ocean Organic Soil, It's very high quality soil, kindy pricy but totally worth it.
Well after some research and after getting help from many members, I came to a conclusion that the reason why Lexus was getting kinda sick was due to a nute deficiency. So two days ago, I watered it using nutes for the first time. Watered it using a half gallon of distilled water and mixed in 1/3 of a tsp of Grow Big (6-4-4) and 1 tsp of Big Bloom (1-3-7) in it. According to the fox farms schedule, I fed it both Grow Big and Big Bloom at 1/3 strength. I will feed it more if it needs more but as of now, it looks like it is helping.
She looks like she is recovering slowly but surely. She has grown much bigger, she is turning so bushy, it looks like a little forest inside it. I am still training her for LST, the main stem isn't yet parallel to the ground yet, im slowly pulling it down everyday as if not to break or stress her to much.
Well anyways, Lexus is 5 weeks old and looking very good. Probably another 3 weeks until I start flowering. I am waiting until it shows it's pre sex and once it does, I will flower it. She is looking much more bushier and is recovering now ever since I fed her nutes. As you can see on the pics, all these shoots are coming out all over her which means alot of colas . Today I also finally bended the main stem down so it can be parallel to the ground.
This Weeks
Max temperature / humidity - 92.1°F or 33.4°C / 46%
Min temperature / humidity - 65.1°F or 18.4°C / 17%
if you're gonna keep vegging for so long, you could clip a few fan leaves to get more light penetration to the budsites. Some people wouldn't but I have and it didn't seem to do any harm. It's up to you though.
Just checkin out your gro . Plant looks really good bushy little thing. I havnt seen any thing on your PH ??? Do you not check it of whats the deal? I would try to get the temps down to 80 or maybe a little bit lower for flower it really help the growth if the temps are lower 91 way to high. Just my opinion.. Im pullin up a chair cant wait to see it in full flower
Sorry guys that I couldn't update any sooner. I have been really busy this past week or so. Well anyways, Lexus is 6 weeks old as of today and she is looking bigger/bushier. Though she got a little sick (if interested in seeing whats going on, I provided some pics on a thread I made with the "sickness," heres the link http://www.icmag.com/ic/forumdisplay.php?f=83) she is still looking fine for the most part and looking much bigger. Two more weeks until I probably will start flowering.
I watered her today, I have not watered her since I fed her nutes for the first time which was on Feb 5th. She looked like she needed it so I gave her about 48 ounces of distilled water with no nutes... (looks like she got nute burn plus fox farm recommends to nute every other watering).
Innvboarder, I dont have a pH meter right now.
This Weeks
Max temperature / humidity - 91.8°F or 33.2°C / 48%
Min temperature / humidity - 69.4°F or 20.8°C / 21%
Here's alot more pics to make up for the days I didn't update...
y not distilled water is pure with little to no dissolved soilds. some people will tell you the minerals in water can beenfit the plant but if you have the proper nutrients you shouldnt wory about supplement with ur water. water should be H20, nothing else. u dont have to used distilled water but it is all you need if youve got everything else dailed in.
Fox Farm products are real strong so go easy on them. when you flower you will wanna get something with a little more kick than just Big Bloom Fox farm has alot of other bloom nutes that would help out anything no nitrogen high pot and phos are good!
You can also try foliar feeding your plants and see how they react to that.
That DOES look like nute burn, but also I would check the pH of your runoff water to make sure that the plants are not burning up/locking out from that.
Go easy with the tiger bloom a buddy of mine got a bad batch of the shit and it burned everything. Now he dosent use it and everything is good. I would suggest some Open Sesame, Beastie Bloom, and Cha Ching over the tiger. I have used all those in the past and I think they work great and there all FF proudcts
Well Lexus is officially 7 weeks old, one more week until I start flowering . She also showed her pre-flowers, shes a girl!!! I provided a mediocre pic of her pistils on picture 8.
About the whole pH/sickness issue, I ended up buying a GH liquid pH test kit and found out that her pH was totally fine??? I tested the distilled water I been using before watering Lexus, it turned out to be neutral, pH of 7. Then I watered it and waited till some run-off occured, tested the run-off and the pH was somewhere around 6.5-7.... This all happened I think on Sunday.
So what I am thinking that might explain why some fan leaves look like they were and still are going through some lockdown/pH problems is that the soil has some pH problems in certain spots in the soil in which it affects the roots that lie there consequently affecting only some fan leaves??? Could that be it, and when I tested the runoff, maybe I got the runoff that went through the soil that had an ok pH???
Well anyways, she is looking much healthier and bigger so i'm assuming she can't be that sick? I still am training her on LST making sure that no shoot goes much higher than another one, I want to ultimately get an equal level for all the shoots to be at so they can all grow really big.
I haven't gave her any nutes since the last time, It doesnt look like she needs any yet so i'll wait.
This Weeks
Max temperature / humidity - 91.9°F or 33.3°C / 49%
Min temperature / humidity - 66.0°F or 18.9°C / 19%
Yea Inv, I know 91F is a little to high, hopefully it wont get as high later on. Weird thing is that she doesnt seem to mind....
Well I know that once I switch to the flowering photo period, that is when Lexus will really stretch considering Grapefruits stretch alot after they are put into flowering and also that I have vegged for 8 weeks. Well I remember we can still LST even during flowering but when do I have to stop LST'ing, in other words, when is a good time to stop???
