Hell, I am 67 and just getting started. growing dope.

Why do you call it dope. When people say dope the first thing that comes to mind is heroin or other hard drugs. That is what hard drug users frequently refer to their drugs as.

Maybe call it cannabis or weed, or any of the many other slang terms that do not have the negative connotation.

Dope is what they used to call it in the 1970s

Wait so if you're not supposed to freeze thaw and refreeze seeds, isn't that exactly what's happening when a seedbank stores its stock in a freezer, they thaw when they're in the mail for a week, and then the customer receives them and puts them in the freezer?

I just keep my stash sealed air tight at room temp, should I leave them like this since a change in temperature is bad? All of them are at least a year old maybe some getting close to 3, is refrigerating a better idea?

Yes, that would be the case. Hopefully they all use fridges instead of freezers though.

I was one of them guys that thought putting seed in air tight containers and storing them in draws was a safe way to preserve seed and so were all my friends.

The seed stop germinating sooner than most think and you be lucky to get life from the seed after 10 years if not 5.

Lots of the old sativa line are still being grown but they survived because people made fresh seed and shared them round.

You don't live in Alaska, although you can have there high temperatures in the summer too.Depends if the air tight containers were made from plastic or metal. The lower the temperature during the saving period the longer the seeds keep their germination rate.
Was wondering if a special method was used during the germination.

Consider one fact when storing airtight...
When you use vacuum bags you lower the air pressure inside the bag(thus vacuum) which means the moisture from the seed is forced out of it much sooner and stronger compared to sealing non vacuumed bags.
Physics 101 :)

I use to store my seed in film canisters or in plastic tubes with lids in a draw i did not open often. The seed i thought were stored right and they were if i used them with in a set window but they were not for longer periods.

Its pretty obvious for me, this guy is just in for the money, trying to advertise his shit here. You can find him on Instagram, made his first post on March 20th 2020. All the Strains he shows us here and on IG you can already buy from other people. He most likely just bought or got Seeds from others, reproducing and selling them, the same like "The Landrace Team" and some others are doing.

He also already uploaded his company logo here. He isn't planning to sell Seeds, he is ALREADY selling them.

Looks different to the old 1970 and before Colombian gold ive seen back here...Is it still the more earthy type....the type before the incense types ...or the slightly later types that probably have had the thai put to them...

Also are you sure you have a 1973 durban and its not something else....im not sure they were even calling what we now know as the Durban strain that came out of the poison pencil sticks that were being sent to Holland the Durban strain all the way back in 1973....

I don’t have to know you and it’s pretty obvious what you do …this is bullshit ..Dude you’re the one here spamming yourself talking about the extinct strains from the past that are impossible to germinate after 50 years (stored in your father’s wooden box ?) and that your website isn’t up and running yet so clearly obvious spam:tongue: please stop & you’ve been flagged …Germinating 50 year old seeds ? come on give us all a break:moon:…What do you have a time machine or something?

hempy, all this controversy could be avoided by not being so didactic. Whatever your opinion is if you follow it with "in my opinion' then you won't get the responses you have been getting. It really doesn't matter if you were buds with Nevill.

Some people didn't just throw seeds into film canisters (try finding those now).
