I knew there had to be some reasonable folks!!! Experts like Ed Rosenthal

and Jorge Cervantes and Mr Clark who wrote Marijuana Botanty all concur

on UV making THC. Large grows use tanning bed lights. I didn't come here

to talk on LEDs. If one were to pay attention LEDs are just about taken over

the lighting industry. (LEDsmagazine.com for people who read) People will

always follow power and money which is a form of power. So the lynching

crew is mimicking mr gotit. Mindless downtrodden masses. I think I learned

about UV at OverGrow.com, mr gotit where were you, looking at the

IDEA: Why wouldn't a true stoner wanna learn how to make more better

I probably should stay out of this but....dav, do you go to someones house for a steak dinner and ask for chicken? Because to me that is an example of similarly rude behavior. Your right UV-B has positive effects on canabanoid production. However, that is NOT the point...the point is that it is rude to jack someone elses thread for your own purpose. You gave the suggestion, it was aknowledged, and that should have been the end of it. Instead, when you didn't get the "holy shit, how did I get by without this knowledge" response that you were looking for, you became pushy, insulting and rude...childish in my book.

gottit started a kick ass thread and is willing to show off a nice size grow...something that is fairly rare. if you don't like how it's being done then STFU...

Plus, are you seriously saying that he should implement all that wishy-washy UV-B crap on this size of a grow? I don't think that's anywhere near practical, even if it was proven solid (which it isn't; right now it's just "stoner theory" and possible placebo effects). I think you're missing a LOT of points and concepts here.

It's pretty clear that he's got a 15-light grow for personal smoke. Anyone can see, can't you?

Who says adding those half-assed, unproven (in fact, quite the opposite of almost proven to be ineffective in conditions provided by artificial UVB enrichment) will result in "more better stoning pot" besides the placebo effects are telling you?

There's a term that professionals (of just about any field you can think of, not even related to cannabis) sometimes use when implementing solutions from prototype / concept / theory to production... generally the term is "scalability". Maybe you should learn and understand before applying the "one-size-fits-all".

Guys, once my Satori are 4 weeks into flower, I'll throw my pink T5 in there and see what happens. In the tight space of my Lowryder box it burned the fan leaves. It was too close. Someone else here tried adding a reptile bulb for just a couple hours of each 12 hour "day" during flowering. He too found that it burned the plants. It dries out the fan leaves. It also burns my retinas through my ski goggles + clip on sunglasses + polycarbonate eyeglass lenses. I'll experiment with 1 of my 2 growboxes. 2 plants in 3 gallon buckets. Burned, dried out leaves are of no use to the plant. I'll do it for science. Once I find out if it helps and how to use it (perhaps a couple hours in the middle of the "day"...a second timer just for the UV; then I might recommend it to others. Even the 420 actinic seems to burn the leaves (it was also too close in the Lowryder box)
BTW, dav zap is going to shit his diaper when he sees that advancedteclighting.com is comming out with a pure red T5. One of those in a 24 watt size could outshine $1500 worth of his LED arrays. I've looked into the high-output Luxeon star red LEDs, but the highest output they make is 70 lumen. All the R&D is going into the white ones. They have a Luxeon star III that can run steady at 170 lumen. That is the highest output I know of. They can be run over-voltage for 200 or more lumen, but that shortens lifespan and increases temps. I was considering neon red lights at one time, but the red T5 will put out 20 times the output of the "ground effects" deep red neons I was looking at on Ebay.
I'll do the experimenting and gottt it can churn out the pounds. :respect:
I'll just keep collecting 24" T5s and swap them in/out of my lamp:

gott it... awesome grow. I've been a fan of those buckets for a while now. Have you run any smaller setups... fewer buckets? If so, how did it go and how much did you yield. How many watts?

I've got a seat. I'll definately be watching this one.

this is my first time doing this bucket system but ive heard of other people getting like 8lb/s off 4 1000's witha good yeilding strain no purples.. i dont know anyone who has used 600s for these buckets so .. we are about to find out

2 a light is great,very few people can pull those numbers.Usually their doing 48 plants per light,lolypoppin the shit out of em.Did your buddy's do SCROG like you?Just wondering because i got a 10x12 bed under my lights and it would be easy to put a screen up,should one reduce plant numbers while using a screen?
