BT, that tent is so nice and ROOMY! I bet there's an echo in there somewhere. Have you ever tried a vertical bulb setup?

Ya I did in my old cab it was rectangular and alot smaller than the tent.

If the tent was square I would try vert again.

I've been wondering about doin a vert set-up with both my 150w hps but I'm not a electrician so I haven't really fucked around with taking apart the lamp. But if I upload a pic or 2 of the lamps is it possible to get pointed in the right direction. Thanks fellas!

If I am not mistaken you have Sun System all in one units where the ballast socket and reflector is all one unit. That is the way my Sun System 150 was when I got it.

Unscrew the back half of the unit off which is the ballast and socket part mounted to it. It should slide back after all screws are removed. You can just remove the socket from the metal bracket.

If you are going vert you wont need a reflector so you can do what you want with it.

Then you just lengthen the wires from the ballast to the socket with an extension cord of proper gauge size for the length you are using.

I left the ballast mounted to the back half of the unit with the on off switch still installed and it works fine this way and everything is mounted properly. I just set the unit on a small flat rock to keep it off the carpet (could also use a brick) where it sits on the floor since it gets pretty warm but not super hot just to be safe though.

Its super simple and I can take pics later tonight after lights on to show the back half of the unit I am talking about above.

@darkvade

i start 12/12 on very small pots 8cm x 8cm x 10 cm .
try to keep the dark period at 18 celsius .
when they stop stretching i put them in bigger pots or baskests .

My local Home Depot only seems to stock the 150wMH security light. Does anyone in this club have experience with these lights? Am I better off going with 1 or 2 70w HPS?

I am hoping to do a small cab NGB style. In all honesty I think I might prefer the 150w MH
as I tend to like my nugz as tight as I can get them, and I've read very good reports that MH produces frostier buds. However I'm not sure that these security light MH have the right spectrum can't really seem to find any info on the Bulb in terms of Kelvins, nm, PAR, etc.

i set my friend up with a 70 hps and i dont realy think the result were great at all compared to the 150w. he vegged for 30 days and got about a quarter of tiny nuggets.

Hi guys I'm just dropping a little 1 month flowering update
(4 plants - other 3 plants are younger than that):

when all rigged up and leaves barely touching (more spaced than they are in the tent of course) they cover an area of 160x35cm of canopy, give or take, pots (20cm) excluded.

They're pretty at the same height also: almost touching the tent's ceiling. I also may pull one before time because I'm pretty out of space here lol...

they may be little late because of heavy training, change of bulb (sylvania > GiB Lighting), high temps 30°... for now they fit, but I'll probably pull one out if I want the other 6 to finish comfortably.

gotta love the 150 <3
c ya!
