 I've spent the better part of the past few weeks getting aquainted with this site. I've found a wealth of information, but not much in the way of organizing or catagorizing it. But then, this isn't wikipedia LOL.
I figured I'd come to the group that uses the same bulb I do for a little help. The last time I plugged my fan in it took a good 10-15 seconds to get up to speed so I figure it's probably going to crap out soon. It's a small squirle cage fan that was salvaged off an old fire place insert. Can you say LOUD! LOL I'm having trouble finding information on how to choose to right fan.
My space is 2'x2.5'x3'H. My air filter looks like one of those "can" filters, but it's home made.
Any help is appreciated. :tiphat:

You need to hit the home depot they sale bathroom fans youre going to need 2 one up top and one at the bottom to cycle the air or it will get way to humid for flower stage.and just find one or 2 small fans at the thrift store anything you can fit in the box will work. i think its optimal to face one going from the bottom of the plants faceing up to the light if possible. so you can get the light 5 inches from the tops.

MsSweetPea, what's your budget?

Ebay has blowers in the $75 to $100 range. I've got the 95 cfm, been running about 4 years straight.

Looks like you have 15 cubic feet. The 95 cfm might work, depending on scrubber drag. I use a Dial-A-Temp speed controller rolled to low and it's pretty quiet, no problem sleeping in the same room.

Ebay also has a 180 cfm model that uses the same motor and a larger cage. If you've had temp problems, the 180 is roughly the same price as the 95cfm.

Grainger.com might have something similar for less $.

ok day 22 from flip. gave them a feeding today per gal- 10ml bloom, 2.5ml biobud and 5ml calmag. i also did a final lower trimming. the back two have been topped and the front has not. i decided to keep them in there smaller pots just to see what i can pull from them.

Ckeck out www.coolerguys.com and look under 120v pc fans. The strongest are 105 cfm and I've been using 1 forever in my 150 cab. My cab is smaller than your space but given your limited hieght they mite just work. You could always hang a small 12v 30 cfm pc fan right on the end of yer reflector pointin rite at the bulb in addition yer exhaust fan. Havnt had to do that personally in my 150 cab but an extra fan rite on the bulb def helps my 250 and 400 setups..

This is a very common situation in small grow set-ups. The fan is it's own worse enemy. It is constantly circulating humidity and dust, and both build up on the fan's bearings causing resistance. If you mist in your grow space it happens even faster. The quick easy solution is just a tiny squirt with a can of WD-40, PB Blaster, or almost any penetrating type oil on each of the bearings. After a few minutes it usually will be running as good as new. Once the bearings start to go, they will continue to deteriorate, and require more frequent applications of WD-40 to keep things spinning freely. This is not a fix, but it could get you another year of use, giving you plenty of time to figure out what type of permanent arrangement you want to implement.
