Whats up with that PM you Got?How do you get that?
i think the air cooled one actually has a flange where it can be hooked up to your exhaust fan duct. kinda like a cool tube. if the 150 doesnt make my tent hot as hell then i also have a 63w led or a 70w hps that i can put it there along with the 150. was thinking of having one light vertical in the middle about halfway up and another light horizontal at the top.I don't think "air cooled" means air movement, such as a fan. The whole assembly acts more like a heat sink, the heat radiates more than anything else. Folks add a fan but there's no air movement otherwise. The hood has air fins but the design doesn't incorporate airflow throughput (like an air duct.)
Your tent is a bit large for a 150. 150s are good for ~3 sq. feet. 50 wpsf of HID is typical.
Hanging the 150 high enough to cover the whole footprint will give you just over 10 wpsf. IMO, you'll get more weed and better quality bud if you lower the lamp to within several inches of the canopy (or as close as you can w/o getting visible signs of heat stress.)
You could ditch the hood and hang the bare bulb vertical. The extra space would make maintenance easy. It's also easier to cool a bare bulb than a metal hood, especially if the bulb has a fan blowing on it. Have fun.
nah the tent inst square its 18"x30". still think vert would be good?oh for some reason I thought there was a pop out on the florolux hood that a flange and duct could be added to. the space is a big large for the horizontal 150, but with a few well placed cfl's it would be ok. upgrading to a larger light would also require a bigger fan so the cost goes way up. I like the idea of Going vertical. If the tent footprint is square, I think it's your best bet. I have not tried it myself yet, but I am intrigued. The results that others have posted seem speak for themselves.
