What size air pump do you use with 150 hps(hydro)?


I have been using whisper 60 for two small (2 gallon) rezs.
ok results, airstone placement has been critical.


Just picked up a whisper 100.
Most likely, add (not replace) new airpump to setup.

Cant have too much air in hydro. But curious how much I am overdoing it.

(Goal: Trying to create aeroponics environment with all the benefits of DWC.)

Does anyone know how to link the thumbnail to the original instead of going to my albums? Or just make them original size? Thumbnails blow.

Org, click "My IC". In the left pane, scroll to and click "Edit Options" under "Settings and Options".

On the "Edit Options" page, scroll to "Thread Display Options". Select an option in "Please select the resize mode".

Scroll to "Miscellaneous Options" and select "Full WYSIWYG Editing".

When finished, click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Alright, your thumbs are linking to the editor, not the big pic.

On the edit options page, scroll to "Thread Display Options". Make sure the "Show Images" box is checked.

Wtf?! I can't figure this out. I did everything you asked and even tried some other stuff. Hmmmm.... google chrome won't even let me insert images at all, I have to use firefox. I don't think it was always like this, I wonder what changed.

Try this, Org...

Click on the thumb in your post. In the new window, select "Thumbnail linked to original" in the "As:" box.

I kinda dig firefox, it just won't release memory like it should. Occasionally you have to close and reopen but it's not too bad.

It's been a week since my last post so here's my girl at 3 weeks, 8 day since I've moved it to coco. At the time of transition rootball was the size of a golf ball. New container is about 6" dia and I can see the roots reaching the walls already! Oh, and my first five-finger leaves showed!

Thanks GB420. As far as light - well I started with single 23W(100W) CFL but after doing some reading I added another one. Temps went higher so I have to install another exhaust fan. I ordered 120mm Cooler Master pc fan. It runs 69cfm @19 db. That should do for my stealth requirement. Simultaneously another challenge raised: light blocking. I'm already working on some idea. In the meantime - I keep box door slightly open.

Also, today I started feeding notes at full strength (6/9 H3ad formula). Maybe I waited a little long with that but after moving plant to coco I wanted to give it some time to adopt.

... and my new PH meter is almost here = I missed 2 delivery attempts. FedEx always arrives when I'm not home. Sh#@!t

I am germing my seeds now for my first 150 watthps cab grow, and am currently modifying my mom and clone cab to support flowering.

I have removed the bottom shelf, and will be putting a vortex 4" and carbon filter above the 2nd shelf. I have moved the top darkroom vent down below the other one for better passive intake air flow. the filtered air will be exausted out the top.

Grow area is 18"x33" by 36" tall.





The seeds currently germing via wet paper towel method:

3 Paradise Seeds Wappa fem
2 Hybrids From Hell Rocketchunk2 reg
2 Mandala #1 reg
2 Spice of Life freebies Blue Satellite 2.2 reg

I will be using my usual Promix bx with 1/3 worm castings mix.
2 T dolomite lime per gallon of soil.
Using Iguana Juice Grow and B1. vegging. Iguana Juice bloom, with liquid karma for 12/12.

not sure how things will go as far as how I'll be growing these ones. depends on germ rates and whether I weed out a couple males early on, may top them and cause insanity to ensue (tend to top to 2 nodes then top once more) otherwise will be SOG style in 1 gallon pots.

Well.. a little follow up

on adding the whisper 100 with whisper 60
to 4 plant setup. (100 is turned on with lights.)

Worked fine with 4" stones. But suspect the small stones are huge bottlenecks.


I picked up two 8" disk airstones.
Tons more bubbes, totally worth it. Besides no longer have to worry about stones being exactly under the net pots.


BUT.... the air stones FLOAT now! lol!
pretty sure they arent suppose to do that..

I cant seem to find any information on how much air should be pumped into DWC. Anyone?

Seen setups with 5 gallon bucket with a single 10 gallon airpump. How effective?
