Damn this thread is lively lately! Nice looking plants everyone.

bird - Glad to hear you got some of them beans and I'm eager to hear your opinion of her. No doubt your thumb is greener than mine so please set the bar. You running her under the 150w? I took that one plant early because she wasn't drinking water like the rest and her foliage dried up. I'm not really sure what happened, but I frantically chopped her at 10 weeks from 12/12 and 60 days from showing pistils. Smells too much like fresh herb for the moment, but the tone I've detected so far smells like sugar. It isn't like a fruity candy sugar, but like raw sugar.

Man do I have to do a lot of trimming for not so much bud, but it gets me by and I'm more than grateful...

Last week i bought ph test kit for aquarium, the only thing for that purpouse i could find in these parts. It appears i was feeding my plants with 7,5-8,5ph water. To me they look like suffering form variuos lockouts + I mishandled my male and my garden is seeded not in the way i intended... yieldkilaz...

Nice fotos everyone, shows me were to aim.

DiscoBiscuit, it turned out quite well ya? Ill be good till fall, when should have some outdoor plants ready for me :). Im going low with nutes throu all grow. their first feeding was at 19 days of flower, only ~1-2ml/1.5l (watering bottle), im usin BiooBizz line (topmax, biohaven, grow, bloom). That was a mistake, since the girls started to lose leaves quickly, so i went "full" dosage, thats 4ml/1.5l for bloom and topmax, 1ml/l grow, and later started with2-3ml/1.5l of biohaven. was feeding like this from around day 28-43 ,then stop feeding for about 10 days, since they recovered well, gave them last nutes on day 53, so thats 11 days ago, and they still have few days before are done, so im hoping they will taste good :)

hoosierdaddy, still a lot to do on the cab. that hoose is now just takin space inside, since its going back up&out. Have to make another hole just above the pots, so it will go out just horizontal. Ill also lose 2 bends on it.
On what day are yours babies?

these were taken yesterday...

70-80 bud sites
I decided to just let them grow through the screen. The screen is being supported by the buds.
I can remove the whole thing from the box.
I did very little training once I laid the screen in at start of 12/12. Trimmed the swarf once buds set.

hoosier, that screen is putting the brakes on the tips. If the screen is fixed, all the retarded growth is beneath the screen. This causes the growth tips to accelerate.

As long as you have a few tips through the screen, they'll be the only accelerated part of the plant. Even the non-restricted tips underneath the screen will retard because the plant only recognizes the above-screen tips as dominant.

If you'll get a two inch screen, mount it to a frame and fix it above the plant, no tips will retard. As soon as you get a dominant tip, push it under the next square. Lateral growth will become tips. The terminal nodes will retard and lateral growth will accelerate. The way to keep this under control, keep the lateral growth strapped low and the terminal nodes will dominate and help keep everything flat. AS the terminal nodes become too tall, strap em down and the laterals in the middle will try to dominate. The dominance will flip-flop between later and terminal, keeping everything flat. Otherwise, you'll have a Jiffy Pop in the middle and the terminal nodes, (colas) will diminish. In other words, it'll be a bush and the screen won't get full. The fact that buds above the screen will be small, every square will need to have a tip to increase yield.

My first scrog attempt was a full ounce less than my average lst yield. But the fact that all ~80+ tips were inches from the light, 3 ounces lasted longer than the lst stuff because it was the densest reefer I've ever seen.

This hybrid was too indica dominant with deep chunk. Next time I'll thin the canopy to ~60 tops after the stretch. Instead of flipping at 80% coverage, I'll try like hell to veg 13 weeks, 100% coverage and I'll get ~2" longer tops and they'll be fatter and penetration will turn the trash beneath golf ball size top nodes to nuggets.

picture.php

On your next scrog, try vegging all the tips through the screen, if it's a hybrid or indica. When you flip, eighty or more tops won't stretch as mush as you're used to with Sog or Lst. (think stretch divied by the number of tips. Well, not exactly but more tips = less overall stretch.) The stem underneath the screen will try to stretch too. A strong screen material won't stretch as bad.

If you get an equatorial sativa, you might flip it with 25% screen coverage. The 8+ weeks of flower growth (and additional stretch) will probably fill the screen. I hear these have a shit load of mush under the screen but it'll probably be great joint reefer. Only the above screen tips will harden

Indica nodes will be so short, crowding may occur. You may have to thin the scrog to allow growth space between tips.

IMO, a hybrid (neither indica nor sativa dominant) might be the best choice because you'll get a good mix of stretch and you won't have months of flower growth/stretch pulling your distance away from the lamp. All those relatively smaller buds will best benefit if the canopy is flat and everything is inches from the lamp.

I you make a frame, I think flat would be getter than the bent one I made. I was trying to take advantage of the headroom on either side of the lamp tube.

I'm lucky, this was my first attempt and I got some Jiffy Pop in the middle and the result was flat. If I had allowed the terminals to inundate the spaces beside the tube, I couldn't have removed the plant to water.

You do realize that this was not done in conventional scog style, as there is zero veg time under the screen? This plant went 12/12 the day it went under the screen. I wasn't even going to leave the screen, I was just going to use it to form the canopy until the buds set. But I decided to leave it for shits and giggles.
I really wasn't ready to tie my 150 box up, as I use it for lots of things, but I had this real fruity sour bubblegum that had no other place to go.

I do appreciate the tutorial...but I am not sure what you mean about the tips though. The tip of every stem is through a 1" square. The only buds beneath the screen are what is continuing to grow below the buds through the screen. All else got trimmed out, including stems that weren't long enough to find a square. Remember, zero veg time.

Thanks in return, you can do three of those in the time it takes me to do one of these. Fruity Sour Bubblegum, that sounds better than tasty.

Sorry about all the jib jab, I thought the screen was topping the canopy in flower. Now I see it's exactly like I was talking about.

Did you make the cross or that available somewhere. Can't imagine a better tasting cannabis. If you're doing an outdoor this year, best wishes.

It was a before and after thing. The first shot shows beneath day one, second after buds set and things cleaned up a bit. Same with 3 being the top day one, and 4 being wks later. You can see in the last shot each bud has it's own site.
Scrogs are fun, but I think I get better yields from LST with a small lamp like a 150. I could have the very same structure I have now with training, yet not have light blocked by the screen, which allows some of the undergrowth to also join the party. Very same principle involved in that you are manipulating the height of the canopy with ties instead of a fixed screen.

And outdoors, I am an LST'in jesse. I tie and bind nearly all my outdoor plants, save for late flower I may put out in pots.
I have near mastered the art of hiding mj in plain sight.
This is a old stalk and root, you can see it was forced to 90degs right at the stump. It had probably 40-50 coathanger ties holding it down. Plant would have been maybe 7-8 ft tall, yet never got higher than about 24-28 inches. Head buds everywhere. Nothing like it.

How about dual 150 hps? I have two of them under my reflector right now, they are the shorter bulbs with medium based sockets. I didn't really train them at at all except for topping and they are looking nice right now at 4 weeks flower.

I plan on LST next run, I will take notes on which yield I like better. I just figured with dual 150's I could get away with 2 foot tall plants which they are at right now.

staff11, I'm not sure that two bulbs would enhance penetration. But if you're able to maintain proximity as well as dissipate the extra heat, it more than increases your potential. IMO, you've got one of those
(1 + 1 = more than 2) situations because the less-than-optimum radiation fringes may combine for better opportunity. Best wishes.

Day 69 - 12/12

Day 69 - 12/12

Great pics guys!

Day 69 ... 1 week left for 2 clones in back, clones in front are getting 2 more weeks. These gals are eating cal/mag bigtime and ran into a def. - but fixed it quick. Now all they get is water.

Have cut off many a bud to smoke/test out as I gave nearly half my recent harvest away to someone who needed it more than I.

Running on fumes to smoke as of now and am conserving bud until I harvest the first set of clones in a week.
