shred''i got 130 my last run with a 150 and i still have tons of room for improvement''

did u go vertical circular, whats your method for such a nice yeild?

shred ''if that same dude had a 150 he could pull 1g/1watt'' the t-8 grow i spoke of was a gram per watt(.9) to be exact which is better then your harvest of 130/150hps,,which is .8 i beleive, the t-8 set up as i wrote before was only 72 watts of light-

if u want the link ill send it to you.

hilbie sorry if you have posted your dimensions already but what size cab were you running when you achieved the 130gms?

that wasnt his set up he was talking about disfunktional that was my last run i luck fully have alot of vertical space in my setup and my northern lights stretched insane i think its like 2x2x5 or somthing close to that

and hilbie i think the main advantage you have with the hps vs t-8 and cfls is the penetration differences

you dimensions wont realy make much of a difference on yeild and as long as you train your plants right and you can gets yeilds up to a gram a watt if you just perfect your technique (grow style/Nutes and additives) but if its your first run just dont set your hopes up 2 high
you should at least get .5g/1watt

What Shred sed. I see folks boasting well over a gram per watt (w/o CO2) and wonder how they do it. A gram per watt is a respectable, maybe surpassible goal and your setup will certainly support efficient grows.

How do I know? I'm guessing, lol. Seriously, you'll have as good a 150 setup as the next grower, maybe better.

I really need to bite the bullet and rig up a SCROG. I'm not even going to admit how much time I spent playing with my canopy this morning... :asskick:

well im about to start my micro vertical setup, it may even be two levels if i can angle my pots on the second level to lower there hight and really train them good, im shooting for 5 ounces

:yoinks:what!!? id like top pull a gram per watt. this will be my second grow ever, and first hydro(DWC) grow. im not setting the bar too high for a while, i was thinking around 2 zips. it will take a while to get the whole set up dialed in and to get my feet wet with hydro style of growing. thank you both for the help!!

Problem with Heat

Problem with Heat

i asked this in the indoor forum with no replies. i figured there must be more pros in this thread.

i did an auto flower grow in my grow box the past 2 months. i checked the temps of the plants near the lights. it gets up to 85 degrees. the temps down on the pots are 78. is this too hot? my plants' leaves seemed to yellow and dry up and die. when flowering started. the plants looked great until flowering. i was thinking this was because the roots were too hot and ended up slowly killing the plants. would love some suggestions here. i'm trying to figure out what's going on. the grow box is 24x24x48. light is a sun system 150watt hps. i have a small house fan blowing air around inside. a 4 inch computer fan sucking air in and two 5 inch computer fans sucking air out. i don't have the proper things to make a glass cover so that is not an option. i also have another 5 inch computer fan hooked up parallel with the light blowing air across the light.

Hey Smokey,

I would ditch that intake fan and make it passive intake.
Rule of thumb is to make your passive intake double the size of your exhaust.
So if you have 4" exhaust, make two 4" passive intakes.

hey smokey i got that same light and what ive seen works best for cooling it is just find a way to mount a pc fan blowing directly on the bulb
best of luck man

Were you vegging with the same cab/light/fans?
How long into flowering did you notice this?
Definitely change the third pc fan from intake to exhaust and have passive intake, but ventilation sounds OK, IMO.

I just got a 150 hps. My question is about powering it. Right now its attatched to a power strip that is connected to a light socket adapter in my closet. I dont want to burn the house down guys, and I dont know shit about overloading... Is it safe to leave it like this..

It has a ballast. its from htg.

That set up will work fine timmytucker as long as you don't put much more on the same power strip than a small fan or 2, and it's properly grounded.
Congrats on your new 150. First grow? Good luck. Welcome to the 150W club. :rasta:
