I am high - those are some impressive plants - nice density on them - is that all from a 150? Wow I'm impressed!

jaxom - it gets pretty hot, not hot enough to burn you right away if you touch the junction box, but hot enough that you can't hold your hand on it.

Trev nice looking dresser ;)

Natural - killer buds - they look super dense and crystally!

Artie - get it done!

Grow on everyone, grow on!

ay ta boy artttiiie. you have some selected strains or what?

holy bling bling Natural. nice :yoinks:

jaxom- if space avails grab an old heatsink and just lay it on top. It will go from too hot to touch and hold, to nice and warm. i also have a fan blowing on it too ;/.

and yah sugabear thats from a 150+ 2 30watt CFL's. My cool tube allows me to get my plants close enough to be touching the tube with no problems. You can tell a difference in the nugs density that are right up to the tube and the ones that are a few inches away. That one with the light is pretty hard and needs to finish turning purple so i can smoke it. cant wait to get home from work!!!!

i dont know how to get pics into this thread yet, but i THINK that if you click on "gallery" at the bottom of this post it should take you to the pic of my nigerian nightmare . not a very good pic, still a newcomer to dig. cam., but you can clearly see one of the big fan leaves turning yellow. this has happened to approx. 80% of the big fan leaves. repotting and watering seems to have stopped the bleeding . comments are most welcome .

never mind ... i think i just found out how to get pics here !

that curl on your leaves makes me think over-fertilization. that could fuck up the intake of certain nutes. have you tried flushing the soil?

p.s. not a bad pic at all dude :D, good luck with your nigerian lady!

is there a way to hook a dayton up to your light and to a carbon scrubber using it like an inline? my buddies want to cut cost on their projects and i have them set up to get some fantech inlines.

ft100 - yes it is possible you might need a couple of flanges from a hydro store. Basically you attach the flange to the intake opening - see the four screw holes in this picture trev posted - well those correspond to the holes in the metal flange they sell - the flange allows you to connect standard 4" ducting. You'd connect the cool tube to this side or if you wanted to connect to a carbon scrubber to pull through.

http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/1004610_1.jpg

I use my dayton to push into a carbon scrubber - in this case since you have a square outlet on the dayton you'll need a piece of plywood - cut a whole the size of the output in the middle - attach the fan to one side and then attach a 4" flange to the other side of the wood centered over your square whole. In my case the piece of plywood is also the back of my cabinet - but it doesn't have to be.

greengrow - If I was you I'd worry more about the curling leaves you got there - something is not right with your nutrients and or soil PH that is causing the characteristic curling - check the sick plant FAQ as I don't know much about soil diagnosis. Over ferting is possible but I can't see if your tips are burnt.

OTher than that she looks awesome - you're doing a great job and the pic ain't half bad either - just flush her and fix the problem and you're well on your way to a big harvest!

Aloha everyone! Good to see you taking care of this thread Suga. Lately life has been crazy, but I got some 1 week old stativa babies from last havest's seeds!

I was wondering if anyone has knowledge about or has used the odor control suggested by PipeDream: Web Products activated carbon filter sheets:

http://www.webproducts.com/products/furnace_ac/absorber.jsp

Just spent $200 on two 80cfm panasonic whisper fans. These babies look built for an easy DIY carbon scruber tray. I was also looking into various activated carbon filter pellets sold mostly at aquatic and pet stores.
Here is an example:

http://www.petco.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=347485&cm_ven=nfg&cm_cat=82&cm_pla=347485&cm_ite=5392612

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Aloha!

hey Bulénath glad to have you back buddy!

just bought two of those panasonics huh? sound like you're up to something :)

anyways - I tried that stuff in my homemade scrubber and it does work. carbon filters are a question of how much smell can you handle? I mean that stuff does work and will probably keep the smell from being so overwelming it escapes the room you have the cabinet in. However if you're looking for something that will block smell completely you really have to step up to the pellets and or some kindof professional model. I use a can style professionally made carbon filter (93cfm model - was around $60) and it has worked incredibly well for almost a year straight and I have grown some super skunky bud in that time. so basically it comes down to surface area of carbon exposed to the stinky air. I think a combo of the carbon filter material plus some of the pellets might make a really good tray style filter - say a layer of the material then a layer of the pellets then another of the material.

looks nice, erbs !
thanks for the input, guys ... from what i have read it looks like maybe overferting might be my problem. every time i have fed it things took a turn for the worse. this plant seems to want VERY little food with what i am growing it in (basically topsoil, potting mix, perlite, and soil-booster. will give it only water for a week or so and go from there.

yeah green grow - some times the less you do the better the plant grows :)

p.s. - it always kinda makes me mad when I leave them alone for a few days they grow better than when I'm here and giving them care - it's a weed in the end.

How many board junkies does it take to change a 150w HPS light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing HPS light bulbs

1 to move it to the Lighting & Ventilation section

2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section

7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

5 to flame the spell checkers

3 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's HPS "lightbulb" or HPS "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use HPS light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a Google search on HPS light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

Smile and enjoy your life, its the only one you're getting!

Regards to all, Pipedream

anyone have experience with thw 265 CFM daytons? or higher? they loud? will my carbon scrubber muffle it?

my blower is gunna pull air from the carbon scrubber..into the air cooled hood, then out the blower.

also made me a bleach bottle carbon scrubber last night, with some window screen mesh 2 bleach bottles, 2 32oz powerade bottles, some hot glue, a 12 inch peice of 4" ducting (the aluminum hard kind) that i snipped as a reducer.. it fits right onto the powerade bottle.. so i have a 4" core and a 6" outer diameter.. carbon scrubber for under 20 bucks. including carbon. woot woot. love the DIY.
