Hi,

I am:
Hungry for buds and been climbing to grower state of mind for more than decade (really) and seeing all your flowers messing up my mind.
Because I want my flowers were cured for few month already.

I have:
Love to cannabis
12 premium auto seeds, 2 bonus noname AK47 auto seeds
10 cree cxb3590 5000K 36V cobs
2 hlg-600-48A non-dimmable drivers with 12.5A (it's possible to add dimmer to cv driver)
14 10L h: 25 cm w: 22 cm grow bags
140L coconut substrate
0.5L grow, 0.5L bloom biobizz fertilizers
Water (harvested from snow)
Very cold house, wool felt and alluminium to make grow space

I don't have:
Neighbors
Heatsink
Termal pads or paste
Plans to sell cannabis since it's illegal here

This sittuation is extraordinary because, even though there is pretty premium setup, I'm not willing to spend a money to finish it properly. For now.

The reason is simple: it's going to be first and last grow in that place, since it's not mine house, I decided to move to another country as I sell land here next year, I learned that 24 lm301h quantum boards (24 qboards * 350 g = 8.4 kg + 2 drivers * 4 kg = 12.4 kg - quite portable) run at 25W-50W without heatsink is what I need with 300W-600W drivers (600W-1200W both) because of efficacy and because I saw prices and weight for heatsinks that able to cool cobs passively. I even tried to sell cobs and ordered 12 quantum boards abroad but canceled order because it was hard to justify waiting time and signal to customs about "growers choice" light board to myself, and there weren't purchaser for cobs.

So I decided to make simple cob setup for that grow with heatsink like on the photo (it's also possible to use it "bar style" instead of "board style" as it's detachable).

Hlg driver version is 48A and according to datasheet can work at 24V-48V with constant current 12.5A, so it, if I understood it correctly, can be driven with one driver at 45W * 10 = 450W or with two drivers at 90W * 10 = 900W.
Yeah, I am all about efficiency but as I said I am hungry for buds which is kindly blinding so I want to grow all 14 canopies at the same time with, possibly, 450W in 120 cm * 120 cm (4" * 4") grow space. I plan to harvest 2 * AK47 canopies earlier to make 4 * 3 raw grow space 120 cm * 90 cm (4" * 3") or maybe keep grow space size same adding space between 12 canopies and adding some cheap warm light or setting light fixture higher and connecting second driver running each cob at 90W, if I figure that heatsink can handle it in this cold house. I plan to run it 20 / 4 hours, having 4 hours during daytime, when house is warmer (12 p.m. - 4 p.m.).

Question:
Is it possible?

Thank you for reading.

P.S. I want to grow 14 canopies in one cycle because grow room is going to be inside my room this time, I will have few months to cure in snow in the forest and its not legal here afterall, so I want to play "hit and run".

I decided to cancel order for drivers even thought it was very good offer (actually ordered it before deciding to move to another country) and also agreed with myself to sell cobs cheaper since buying them (3 years ago) was mistake based on previous research.

I'm on the market for a light which I want to be portable in a check-in luggage and efficient.

I'll keep updating thread.

Also decided to go quality over quantity - canceled second 70L coco, so it's going to be 5 canopies in 5 wide 15L h:23 cm w:30 cm grow bags, roughly 14L of substrate in each bag.

Hello and welcome.

Yes, it is possible.
The light for that area is definitely enough, if not too much. Maybe you can make 2 circuits or even 3 to turn on/off extra light sources.
The size of growbags is fine for autos too.
Curing in snow in winter? Sorry but that will not work.

Thanks! 🙏🏼

In pot. It's same to curing in refrigerator but without vibration and risk of having pots for police eyes.

Will post when I figure about light fixture.

I messed things while being in a hurry, when I saw good offer for light fixture, canceled order for drivers, then took a deep breath that reminded me why I wanted to go 25-50 watt qb288 route — no heat sink, larger coverage, longer led lifetime and made me think twice if I need to start really quick which is but because I've been climbing to that moment for a decade. So I successfully continued cancelled cancel and ordered a bunch of qboards that will be delivered in January.

Since lighted coverage increased, back to initial setup: 14 10L h: 25 cm w: 22 cm grow bags, 140L coconut substrate. Thinking about how to place canopies: 2 pots * 7 pots or 4 pots * 3.5 pots.

I have difficulties to follow.
What do you mean when you say canopies?
The plant, a branch, a budsite, the grow bag?
3.5 pots?

Yeah, I understand. So many factors with most crucial that I'm out of flower ^^. And second is I have a problem setting cobs because don't have heatsink by hand, and on the other hand quantum boards can be run without heatsink on low wattage. So I have chosen no to hurry and ordered qb's instead of heatsinks (they are heavy and I mentioned I need it portable) for the cobs, which I wanted to set without holder to cheap heatsinks. And decided to sell cobs, if that even possible. Other factor is that hlg-600 driver is 48A version, which can run 36V cubs but on constant current which is 12.5A * 36V = 450W (each cob 1.25A * 36V = 45W), so it's a waste of 150W from maximum 600W drivers output, and non dimmable to half amperage, according to datasheet, because it will work in full amperage in 24V - 48V. And with 48V quantum boards its different story. Anyway, I ordered boards only for one driver and if I can't sell cobs I can use them later, or, if sell, order other half of boards to get 300W-600W quantum boards setup with both drivers.

By canopy I mean plant ^^

By pots I meant plants, mistyped

4 rows * 3.5 rows — I meant 4 * 3 = 12 plants + 2 plant (half row)
