No worries on the drip but in the very beginning when you pot up be sure to give a real good flush/rinse to your containers after you have plants and coco in there to insure all the solids and run off are clean before going in your trays.

If you don't you can get a little settiment buildup in your res and it could effect your pump if it got to bad, other than that you won't have any problems.

the thing i was kinda worried about is the salt build ups ive been hearing about. some say its not that big of a deal others say it can b a major issue. but as long as i have some run off i think i'll b straight

If you use city water you will have all kinds of problems with buildup and lockout, I know mine fluctuates between 300 ppm and 800 ppm depending on the time of year and that sucks. It makes it impossible to troubleshoot nute problems.

I use r/o water that is at 22ppm and it is the way to go.

well, since I harvested 3 more plants today that were grown in a variation of my mix posted above.. this time they had recycled soil, and i hit them with a lot of teas and molasses.. burned them quite a bit.. they also experienced some calciem and magnesium deficiencies, hopefully I don't keep having this problem, but im pretty sure I solved it for the future ones.

who cares about a bit of damaged leaf at the end, as long as the buds make the yield they are supposed to. great job, enjoy the fruits man.

ok, first off apologies if I came off as being somewhat grumpy, grouchy, asshole-ish whatever. Been fighting this creeping crud cold for a few daze now and it may have affected my normal sweet natured self ( I can hear 'Nandro laffing in the background at that )

TK, thanks for throwing up those pics. The pics I'm posting here were done by the co-owner/administrator/head coco mofo in charge at another site who kindly consented to allowing me to post these here. These are all 100% coco, no amendments, either in ebb and flow or hand watered to waste. I do not know about the nutes he used, I forgot to ask, and I hesitate to bother him with trivialities such as this as he has a lot on his plate and has to deal with a siteful of grumpybuts like me. Perhaps if he comes along and sees this he might post up what nutes he used.. Personally I think the title of Coco Master has to go to Pistils tho.

Again, my apologies for being a grouchy asshole. I'm off to the docs to see if he can give me something to at least let me sleep at night. Haven't toked much in a couple daze as it makes the cough just so much worse. and I've not slept too well cause every couple hours I have to wake up and try to cough a lung up.

Pistils is definetely one with coco, as well, he takes care of things across tha pond real tight. Funny-true story he was tha one that started callin me that, lol. He loves his profit disks and I bet if he weren't so busy at tha Bay, he'd come over here, himself and share his knowledge. I owe a lot to that cat, he made me mod over there and I'm spending more and more time over here. OUCH, back to my home I go...

I'll be around.
Peace,

Curious about the Coco. How much sediment do you get in the rez when using coco? I got several bricks with my Eurogrower, but have not used them. Instead, I use hydrotone exclusively.

I took one look at the stuff and decided against it. After viewing this thread and all the great results, maybe it's time I rethought this stuff.

Great thread! lets hope I can revive it!

I have done 2 good grows using coco & amendemnts, and am working on the third. I also treat it like soil in that I handwater in pots and amend it like soil. I have switched from using perlte to hydroton on the 2nd & third grows & it seems to word better with the hydroton.

However my growth rates are good but not as good as I am seeing in these 100% coco setups. I am going to try 100% coco with hydroton on my next grow.

Now for my questions.....

1. I am handwatering & mixing my own nutes/teas. What works best for veg and flowering Oraganic coco nutes in 100% coir?

2. I am first and foremost a soil grower, and a little leary about overwatering/waterlogging with 100% coco. Is this a threat? On my previous amended coco grows I have noticed that they will take more freuqunt waterings/feedings than a soil/peat based mix. Do you ever let the coco dry out at all?

3. What do you guys use for foliar sprays in 100% coco?

4. How long should coco be flushed for before harvest?

This thread has got me very interested in coco, it would solve a few of the problems I have right now, and I think let me utilize my space better than I currently am. I'm very interested to see if this discussion will continue, and I think I'm going to try to design a new system for my next run.

Just searched threw damn near 18's pages worth of posts in this'y here COCO thread.

I've got a wee problem, I've posted it in my own thread but this seems like a more relevant thread to discuss it in...

Long story short, I want to switch from my House and Garden Coco A+B nutes to my Biobizz nutes, ( Grow, Bloom, Top Max, Heaven) with CalMag+ in RO water, hand watered, three gallon pots, run to waste.

I am entering week three of flowering and the buds are just now starting to take shape....

Can anyone offer an opinion about attempting to do what I've outlined?

Another biggie that I can not seem to pin down from reading through countless posts is how to deal with PH when one is going with 100% liquid nutes in Coco.

I'll probably just try it and see what happens no matter what, but just in case anyone out there might be kind enough to offer a new face any sort of opinion, well, I thought it can't hurt to ask.

Sam
