45 day strains

Anyone know of, or grown a certain strain that finishes around the 45 day mark? 50 days would be nice too. Ive seen some of bogs gear claim 44-48days, i think it was bogglegum.

I want to try the 6hr.40min on/12hr off light cycle with a short flowering strain. I have a buddy thats done 9-10wk sativas and finished them in under 8wks with the only difference being faster harvests and lower electricity bills.

I want to see if i can get from rooted clone to cut colas around 35 days.

Thanks, and as always keep it easy ~caddy

What do you do with the other 5 hrs 20 minutes? Half light/half dark? lol.

Some combination on/off must equal 24 for all earth based grows.

Unless you're moving from one cycle to the next, but that would result in a random light/dark period relative to the normal day - not a problem for the plant, but a problem for mantainence.

Without a doubt Sweetooth #4. It always finished around 45 and frosty as all hell. SWT#3 is probably the same but i haven't grown it.

If u live in or near cali, and have the right connections or do enough searching, theirs a strain called green crack or g-cizzle,its best taken at 45 days.problem is its clone only, unless theres someone out there that made a hybrid of it,but i doubt it would still finish as fast.schroomy 420 prob has the most info on this strain,

Reefercat, bingo, doing the 6 hour 40 minute on 12 hour off will make the days "shorter", which requires a special timer. It doesn't have to equal 24 hours, thats the whole point. He's "gaining" that much time (5 hours 20 minutes) back each day, thus making his flowering extremely shorter. He'll lose a bit of yield, but harvest fast, thus negating any loss of yield in the big picture. I'm interested in giving this a shot, in combination with Bio-buckets, for long flowering sativas.

cadillachydro, which timer do you plan on using?

hellova maintennance schedule to keep track on. I'd def go for 7hrs on and 12hrs off, instead of plundering with minute tracking...
-Guess you can make up for the yeild-difference by adding plants to the crop. At least the late and tall sats could do that way if the whole 6:40-12:00 thingy is working of course....

Keep it coming if you do this mate:)

Yeah, they say you can take TW at 42-45 days, and you can, but it is not even in the same ball park as TW taken at 58-62 days. Potency, yeild, and well rounded buzz suffers significantly when taken at the shorter harvest time. Almost a different strain IMHO.

I have been jackin with the Arcata TW cut for three of four years now and have taken them down at probably on every day from 42-70 days and I much more prefer the longer finish times. Taken a plant down at 45 days and it still being "good" is way defferent than it being truely finished at 45 days.

shiva skunk is pretty consistant at 45 days. Also, pink kush is supposed to be a good 45 day strain.

thats a great bit of advice TK. just as bud gets better as it cures, it gets better over those 20 days. worth the wait in the end, eh?

i think just like lowryder was the big thing a year or 2 ago, biobuckets are gaining popularity now, in 6 months, i bet the 6:40:12 time period is gonna be it. you heard it here first folks :p

Getting the timer set is the easy part, a intermatic digital timer does the trick, it has more than enough events with a couple to spare. The only hard part to setting up a 18 hour light schedule is trying to get your nutes dialed in so you are not dumping more than you need to. Other than that its really not that hard to set up.

Sorry guys, seems ive been on a bake binge and have been off task. Where to start.

First I'll say im as new to this as anyone else, it will be my first attempt. BGood06 sounds like he's got the facts straight.

The timer. This is the one problem thats keeping me from starting.

You have to use a 7 day digital timer. I run 240v and since there are no 7 day digital timers in 240, I can get started. Yeah sucks for me.

I also need a calender to keep track of the schedule for maintenance and what not. The 6hr40min on/ 12hrs off is revolving schedule. As BG Said your gaining 5 hrs20min a day meaning that every actual 7days flowering is like 9 days for the plants. That means you can pull an 8wk strain 16 days early with next to no difference. But, like i said the schedule flips constantly so planning a calender out is essential to keep track of the light cycle for maintenance.

There are others using this formula. I know someone that loves it. Hes the one that tuned me onto it. I just have the timer and voltage issue. The end product is stellar. Ive smoked GPD done in 7 weeks and it was excellent. It maybe coulve done a few more days, but it was the real deal, no ones complaining trust me.

Im really baked and this seems like such an effort right now...lol. Thanks guys for the strain suggestions, it definitly something i need to read in a slightly less stoned state.

When i get the timer worked out, I'll post all info with grow comparison.. hopefully itll blow up, id love to see others. Ive got some bog bmr and some gypsys gum to show. Hopefully we'll learn something cool. Keep it easy.

Could somebody post some links to timers that are able to do this? EDIT: OK, Intermatic was listed, but are there more? K+ for anyone who can help me out.

Worked out the schedule for maintenance. I may have to try this:

Day 1
12:00 am on
6:40 am off
6:40 pm on

Day 2
1:20 am off
1:20 pm on
8:00 pm off

Day 3
8:00 am on
2:40 pm off

Day 4
2:40 am on
9:20 am off
9:20 pm on

Day 5
4:00 am off
4:00 pm on
10:40 pm off

Day 6
10:40 am on
5:20 pm off

Day 7
5:20 am on
12:00 pm off
12:00 am start at day 1
