A keeper Deep Chunk cut from HTC stock at exactly 45 days 12-12, not a single white pistil and a handful of amber trichs... simply heavenly, and definately one of my favorite smokes. :yummy:

Bravo BC.............I got me a pack recently to find a good male......and smoke her of course.........were any of your beans cracked?.......i had 3 or 4..........wondering if i should pm the man about it............your girls look great......i love the sugar leaf curvature.......almost like a different species..........i would love to try TH's PTK also.......TH describes PTK taste as JFruit gum............anyway, thanks for the show buddy...........your plants like you......nate

Here's one of the fans from this plant, certainly not her biggest, but still pretty huge. The leaf is next to a 1 gallon jug which is about 3-4 inches smaller than the width and height of the leaf..

This plant was only about 16" tall, and from clone.

This plant is a keeper cut a friend from OG selected from some HTC beans Bub sent her a while ago. So I didn't see these beans..

But, I know exactly what you speak of, and have seen this happen on a few strains. With my last seed project I made a DCxBlockhead cross with this DC cut and a super frosty BH male. Anyways, out of about 100 beans, 3 came right off of the plant slightly split along the seam. I just germed them the other day as I didn't want them to degrade. I still got 100% on the 3.

Also, I made a cross with VenomberryxBH at the same time, and found 6 seeds like that aswell, all germed.


And the 3rd time I've seen it was with Master Kush seeds a friend gave to me. I received about 40-50, and 5-6 where split aswell, those are put in priority mode to germ. I've always wanted to try MK anyways, so it's no biggy.


If I was to guess I would say you'll still have good germ rates on the ones that are split, but I guess it depends on how old they are.

good luck, I'm sure you're find some good ones in there, almost any pheno is a keeper.

I actualy considered using a scapel to just slice off the trics, or even slice off the edges of the leaves, dry them, and line joints with the strips of trichs.. :yummy: Maybe I'll do that with the next DCs.. I look forward to running a DC SOG soon with this cut. And she purples well at 45 days in a summer grow, I can only imagine the colour and frost wen the temps dip.

sorry steel, I don't. I left a few buds on the bottom of the plant so I can let them go to 60-65 days like CBF and others suggest for the full body of DC.

Once I saw that all her pistils were red and she was showing smber trichs I just couldn't let the whole plant go 60-65 days, as I only had one plant in flower, and I'm jonesing big time for DC.

She was about 16" when put into flower, and stretched to maybe 18-20" as she was in a packed room and stretched for the lights little more than DC usualy does. I only had her in a 1 gallon, as this was kind of a trial run, to see how good this cut really was.

There's maybe about 5-6 branches left, with nuggets on the end. I also wanted to leave the bottom buds as they were slightly under-develped and behind the main cola in maturity, as DC shades out everything but the top 5-6" of plant.

This wasn't an ideal grow with her, but still gave me some nice results. I can't wait to do her up properly, and I'll be sure to post the pics up in this thread when I do.

She is definately one of my favorite smokes, and she won't be leavign the garden for a long time, if ever.

Something I noticed recently...that I'm not sure if others have pointed out before...but...DC gets much better with a good 1-2+ month cure...I wonder if anyone else has noticed this. :chin:

thanks Zilaniz, yes, this one plant will make a good bit, she's a great yeilder in the hash department.

Hey IGT :wave: good to see ya round these parts. It is a nice cut, and I'm grateful to have it. I imagine in the winter and flushed more this cut may get almost as purple as your DC (the one that was nominated in the IC POTM), but I know you got a few special tricks up your sleave to bring out the colour ;)

I'll see if I can let a nugget go 1-2 months or more, and report back with my findings, altho I may have a hard time pulling it off. I definately hope to crop a good bit of DC, and will definately give the long cure a try if I don't make it this time..

nice shots BC, look forward to what ya think of the smoke. have 3 DC goin myself, ones already in flower.

TH recommends 65 days of flower, ive taken um at 55 days, 65 days, and i can see from your bud pics that they could of went more, as the interior of the plant is slow to finish.

i definitly understand wantin a taste, done that many times myself and im always kickin myself for not waitin. lol

like any new weed, takes a few runs to find out where ya like it best. had a cripple crk cut for awhile and ran it many times, harvestin at many different times, the 83 day bud was real purp, and the bubble water looked like cranberry juice, creamy purple bubble, that was wicked to the body. ran like a mofo when burnin.

myself, if its indica dom, i like to go as long as i can stand it,

CBF, I'll do up a report on the smoke from this cola (45 days) and also one on the remaining buds on the plant (few gs) when I take them at about 65 days. Should be interesting to note the differences 20 days makes.

I definately know what you mean, DC does take a while to ripen up on the inside, or swell fully. I just couldn't resist taking the cola once I seen some amber. I have only smoked DC twice, and only the bud from a fully seeded plant. But just based on that test I already know it's gonna be one of my faves without doubt. The seeded plant had probly gone at least 60 days, if not more, but there wasn't much bud, just alot of empty calyxes to smoke. That was such a tease and just made me jones for her so bad.

I do like to harvest in stages on my 1st timer cuts/strains, to see what the plant is all about, and so I know what to do on the next run. I definately have plans to do a good amount of DC in the future.

I'm smoking a 2-3 day 'quickish' dried phatty atm, and OMFG, this shit is just too good! I gotta try and work this taste/high into something with a little more yeild. I so look forward to the Cheese (cut) x DC that's gonna be made soon, should keep that great skunkyish, dank goodness and add yeild.

She's just so dank, sweet, and tasty :yummy: I can't imagine the 65 day sample, flushed more, and cured for a month, it's gonna be unreal. She just really suits my style, and my preferences, and I know she'll be a staple in my garden for a long time to come. The potency is up there with the best indicas I've had, even on this early sample. Such a pure, blissfull, relaxing, happy stone. definate good bed time meds if taking later I'm sure.

I'll stop talking about her for now, I'd rather give a proper smoke report after it's been properly dried and cured for at least a few weeks.. But from the prelim test it's obviously a keeper.

Definate quality smoke, that brings me back to the good bags of the 80s and even the 90s for me.. I'm so impressed so far!
