Aeroponic Girl Scout 600 Watt LED grow

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my current grow album with everyone and hope to learn more about growing and more about what others are doing. This is my 3rd time growing and first time having a tent which I am loving so far because it's very simple to control the environment. I hope I can learn off other growers and become a master grower one day. Hope you all like this and looking forward to some feedback !

Here are some photos I took a few minutes ago. I still have over 3 feet of head space to work with.
Day 23.

Very nice setup - I'll be subscribing to see how this works out. I had put together a similar unit using a 5 Gal bucket for the res and 2 Gal for the root/aero chamber. The only issue I had with it was high temps due to the pump being in the res. I plan on re-configuring it with the pump inline to reduce that issue.

I do think you can expect some issues with space once you get into flowering (this sucker will probably get pretty big if you treat her right) but with some training and thinking ahead you can maximize your yield for the space available.

Keep it up!

Thanks GastroGrower, I did notice since the pump is in the res my water temps have been around 74-76 degrees. I am in the process of designing a system to have the res separate from the net basket so I can maintain a lower water temp and have more space for her to fill into. Here are a few photos I took a few minutes ago. Besides that, room temp and humidity have been at a perfect 75 degrees and 60 % humidity with an exhaust running at low speed and a co2 tank dispersing 1200 ppm the first 15 minutes on the hour.

Hey everyone, hope you all had a nice spring break.
Some updates on the grow.

Started light stress training and seems to be handling it very well.
18/6 light cycle.
1200 ppm Co2 on 18/6 cycle.
Enjoy (=

I ran aero for a year, but even still wasn't fully satisfied with my setup....needed a ton of money and better design...

Hate to be a negative Nancy about it, but I pretty much reserve hydro for a side interest to experiment and stay up on tech, ect.... But I will never depend on it for my bills or building big new things with out 10x the money I need...cost me a TON of money I might of well have thrown away...

What I learned is to run less additives, just the best food you can with a high rate of hydrogen peroxide, added every day.... Air conditioning is highly recommended and reseviour chillers are essential! I would aim for never over 70* in the res never under 65*.

But in reality, hydro with out air and water management systems in place and many fail safes and back ups as one can afford can be a depressing way to spend your energy and money.although learning and building the systems is super stimulating and fun...

Anyways , I'm a little bitter still, but I have some serious aero tables that when I can afford to do right I will.. Too prove to myself I can....

That said I always did 1+ every run even with root rot, and I did over 2+ in under a 9 week cycle from plant to cut....so there's that...

Yeah, everything does pretty much have to be perfect.
I have a mobile air conditioning unit i am planning on putting back into the tent today to maintain lower temps, especially for the water. But since im using co2 and LED lights, should i worry too much if my water temps are reaching 77-79 degrees ? Water chillers seem to be over priced...

Would like some people opinion on this...
should I take some clones (maybe 4-6) and increase the number of plants im doing to take advantage of all the space in the tent or should I just keep this one going till harvest and attempt to train her to yield 1/4 Lb.

FYI, while the Apollo says it is full spectrum, it is far from an ideal grow light for cannabis, or anything really

Also, it is no where near 600w actual, AND< not all leds are of high quality. In this case, you get what you pay for- an inferior product.

Quality 250w LEDs for growing cannabis start around $700

That light has far too much blue and red to grow optimal bud. Yes you will grow decent bud, but I wouldn't pollinate under it as the new seeds will have an altered DNA gene pool due to minimal white light. The spectrum balance should be the opposite of what this light has

Looks good man! You could probably get away with 2 plants in the future would allow you to do less training with the one, either one will work just fine though, just depends on what you want to do. My opinion, you should be able to raise the temp in the tent a little more because your using LED instead of HID. HID converts a lot of energy to heat where LED does not. Excited to see what you do with her. Aeroponics is just about the only way I have not grown cannabis lol. Best of luck to ya bud, will be following!

Water chillers are a must have for any hydro application IMO... Honestly just trying not to be a jerk because you seem excited, but a lot of your roots already show signs of damage from the temps or pathogens in your water.

Aero is great because the high oxygen, and still running 5-20ml litre of H2O2 is going to help but nothing will stop root damage as soon as res goes over 72* in my experience, plant will look good for a while longer then crap out...

I wouldn't even try hydro again without res chillers and air conditioning.... But yeah 70* is my safe line... Good luck though! I had fun learning and it all applies to all max yield growing so no loss in that department either... Just maybe throw a soil container in as a back up.

Thanks, I will definitely look into buying a water chiller.
And i will go ahead and have a soil back up pot/mix ready just in case things take a turn...

Appreciate the feedback !

Appreciate the feedback !

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I will continue to update every few days.
In the mean time i will be looking into a better quality LED and water chillers, any recommendations for either? Was thinking about going with the BML Spyder LED lights or California Lightworks, still need to do some research/ comparison.
