GROW CONTEST WINNER: ACE Seeds guerrilla outdoor grow @ 51°lat

MadMac

far beyond driven...
Hello,
as the title suggest i post here some pic's and info's about my outdoor grow @ 51° near Amsterdam... I do this because this ACE gear performs so well here that it can be interesting for all who grow outdoor in north europa and looking for replace the dutch hybrids... or looking for good ACE gear that works @ this latitude...

Background:
it was christmas 2014 when all my friends came together and we smoked the best weed we have grow that year... so everybody brings in the best bud's he had... we were disappointed again and the question came up what to do... normally we got our seeds direct from breeders in Amsterdam... so i ask what do we want?
one said i want "trippy weed" = "keyword" like we had in the 80'...
hmm i said i want the "strongest weed in the world" = "keyword" long lasting and trippy too but creative not couch lock...
so i ask SIRI: "what is the strongest weed in the world?"
SIRI: "I don't smoke weed but Malawi Gold is the strongest weed in the world"
ok then now we know and have a starting point...
dig a search on the iNet and lot's of threads came up and some wiki stuff: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malawi_Gold
So we were fascinating by reading all about that plant...
20 min later one friend got little nervous because he thought if other feel the same and search the net... they will find the same answer... let's order now Malawi Gold! Ok let's search... hmm African Seeds... sold out... duhh... ACE Malawi>in Stock> Hurray> buy buy buy... ok come down.. let's see what's up with ACE... search > icmag.com > forum > WoW goto ACE website... WoW great genetics > great explanations... duhhh what to order now... so many great landraces here awesome... let's dig deeper before we order... and so we ordered Malawi, Golden Tiger and Congo @ a reseller... than most of the other seeds from Amsterdam had very bad germ. rates and we ordered again now direct @ ACE... because all ACE seeds germinated! i ordered again... thats why i have this diversity and 50% of the ACE catalog to try out in one year :)
I can't tell you how happy we are here after i finished my first pure Sativa grow from seed (Malawi&GT)... Now we all are sure that this ACE genetics are by far the best we have smoked the last 20 years!
and by no surprise all is true... every word about ACE Malawi and all the Malawi crosses and hybrids... bullseye > dang
So if you new here and looking for the same as me, my friends tangwena and many others here... you have found what your looking for :) try Malawi and all the bros and sis and you will be happy like we are!

So i planted Erdpurt, PCK, Nepal Jam, Bangi Haze, Congo(fem), PCK&Kali China and as a bonus cuttings from my indoor grow... Malawi & Golden Tiger Outdoors...
Indoor i have Malawi&PCK, Zamaldelica, Purple Haze & Malawi... ready mid November :)
balcony: Bangi Haze and PCK & Kali China

maybe there is a keeper I've read somewhere... and there are two
1. a early Malawi pheno... faster flowering than Erdpurt!
2. a great Golden Tiger pheno but late... so indoor only i think...

Here now some pic's from the lady's that survived... lost 7 plants in the battle with snugs, storm and other...
I found two beautiful males today as you can see on the pic's. One Nepal Jam and one Erdpurt...
There is a small Malawi that is full in flower but all other just start... also the early Erdpurt just start to flower... so if i count now 6 weeks i think the Malawi could be ready before all other...
mid october would be perfect for outdoors here in my region... but it can go to november if weather and temp are ok like the last years... so as it looks like we have also found our outdoor seed's for the next decade
@ ACE fill your seed bay's ... we will buy it all hehe:tiphat:

Plz keep in mind that this outdoor grow is guerrilla style and they got no support nor nutrients... just planted them from 0.5l pot into the earth... some show little deficiency... Bangi show the most... but well this is just a tryout.

P.S. here is the link with all outdoor pic's also from the start... if you are interested in... ;-)

Golden Tiger & Malawi
Left ist the GT the right leg is broken... on the right there is a Malawi cut...
as you can see this GT is extreme stretchy and i can't believe it that these 2.5m bush is from my last cut...
these genetics are absolute awesome! Planted @ the right spot outdoors and one plant can feed a huge family a complete year...
Never met this vigorous genetics... hopefully i will find one day a early pheno like the other Malawi...

... some more

... some more

early Malawi - well she is not huge as the other Malawi cut's but so early in flower and around 1.7m.
stays a little in the shadow of Erdpurt because i thought the Malawi is not for this climate and so she got no attention... damn i was wrong! Background: I had 3 Malawi and 3 GT in my first grow from seed this year... i made cuttings from all and planted some here and gave the others to friends... just to try out because you know... there was a early Malawi and a late but high yielder GT... the one in the first post... broken GT that catched my interest... and as you see the Malawi is faster than all other fast flower like Erdpurt...
... so i still can believe that a Malawi (100% Sativa) @ 51°lat is faster as Erdpurt (100%Indica)...
i know there are faster pheno's but this is really unbelievable... she is on four different outdoor spots... will post how she finished and believe me a smoke report too... than it's christmas and Dubi get's a big present from me!... that is what me and my friends are looking for the last 20 years!
picture.php

picture.php

Erdpurt 1 - fat robust indica happy that i have two from 3
picture.php

Erdpurt 2 & Male left...
picture.php

Erdpurt Male flower - so nice to see in real life but you don't have what i'm looking for... rip

Looking great. Have you grown these outdoors before? I'm at 53 lat and have some Ace gear but it appears my frost comes a lot earlier than yours. You must be by the ocean?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed but they have not started to flower as of last visit couple weeks ago.
Going to watch closely your grow. Best of luck and may all your buds be huge.
Peace GG

Hi Mac lets hope global warming works in your favor, you dont mess around once you find what you like.
Nice plants for that latitude, its hard growing good gear that far from the equator, best of luck my friend.

hey gorilla ganja...my first ACE gear outdoor grow... so no experience... was only following some outdoor grow here... thats why i do this tread... will show what worked @51° outdoors... well the North See is not far away 200 km... the harvest time for outdoor is here around 15 October in common. If you can grow it longer as the last two years than Congo and early Malawi will finish proper...i think... last year latest harvest was around 8 November! Around 15°C @ day and 7-10°C @ Night...
I'm so exited because the Malawi Queen is in full flower while the others just start... also Erdpurt... a early Indica made for my climate... we never met a hemp plant last 20 years that is flowering so early outdoor in our climate...
She is in four different spots and gardens and everybody is so exited about... well next Malawi order we will look for this pheno again > Breeders Pack
It's so exiting too because me and my friends like the Malawi high, the smell and odor...plant in general it is so magic exotic far far away from here ;-) and sooo potent too. These Malawi line (GT,Zam,PCK,Purple etc) is so great... can't wait to check them all out.
But well if the Malawi is finishing proper in my region than a dream for many people here come true... most of all grow dutch seeds like Green House or Sensi Seeds... etc... but they fail now ...year by year... that's why i'm here and very happy with the results so far ;-)

@ konopenko
thx mate for the kind words... haha was watching all your past grow and like your location... i'm too a nature boy ;-)
Golden Tiger is one of the beautiful hemp plants i have grown until today... yes it's worth to grow just for pleasure... so pretty and i must laugh this morning after a phone call from my friend... "what is this in my Garden? Thats the biggest plant i've grown' You can see this huge bush from far away..." well he has the same GT cut in his Garden... extreme vigorous and needs space... would really be impressive to finish this Monster in our climate... 1 GT > 1 Family > 1 Year

@ tangwena
thx dude but well this is guerrilla style and as it looks like the ACE gear is made for it... they have survived snugs and other bad's... :)
Malawi tang Malawi is the Queen ;-) never mind ...
btw. have thought about the goat's problem... solution is a electric fence... not expensive if you lost... would highly recommend this for guerrilla outdoor where goat's and other are a problem... if done right a battery works for 6 month...

I hope you kept a cut of the early Malawi. Could be a special plant indeed. Maybe make a few seeds off her. Thanks for the information.
Cheers GG

The Ace Seeds website should use your Malawi closeup bud pic in their product description. Ask Dubi and see what he says!

Outdoor Temp. Graph 2013 - 2014 @ 51°

Outdoor Temp. Graph 2013 - 2014 @ 51°

high @ all,
just for the records here are the temp's from 2013-2014 @ 51° outdoors. This is for example why i bought this netatmo wetherstation...
You can exactly see when to water the plants and when the temp is to low to grow... also i have a extra module for my grow room and i can see exactly what is going on from everywhere... also check if you get enough fresh air and how exactly the humidity is... i can really recommend this... soon it's christmas time ;-)...
So here the plot's from 2013-2014 @ 51° near Amsterdam... could be interesting for all growers here in North Europa.
As you can see we had 2014 17.2 °C @ 1.Nov.... that is awesome... and 2013 @ 20.Oct 20.3 °C and on 1.Nov 13.9 °C... these temp's are all correct measured in the shadow! So in direct sun it was much warmer...
Night temp's where around 5-8 °C... so maybe it help's now to decide what strains are on the list for next year... Also if all went well with this guerrilla grow you will see the results with this strains...
Let the Sun Shine! btw. > Sun is Shining > there is a great dub version from the bob marley song mixed by Lee Scratch Perry... listen and play loud...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWp_Dic6cbQ

Temp 2014 @ 51°

Temp 2013 @ 51°

So for example if you look @ my early Malawi cut... this lady started mid Aug. and if you count 10 weeks for the early pheno than she will ready @ end Oct. :)=
This what's count for me... when start the plant to flower and how long does she need @ my location.
To figure this out we bought in the past lots of different dutch outdoor strains and then after 10 years we found Big Bud... but it failed the last years...
Start again with ACE gear is it for next decade ;-) and believe me i'm very very happy with this gear!

Peace & Love to everybody
M. :tiphat:

Thank you very much Madmac for starting the outdoor thread and for your kind words. :)
Honestly, comments like yours makes us happy after all the hard job and motivate us to keep working onwards.

I'm glad you are trying some strains outdoors in Guerrilla style (i miss my times of being a guerrilla grower heheheh). Hopefully the autumn there comes sunny and warm, without much rains. Weather is changing so much in Europe that you never know, here summer has been extremely hot, sunny and dry until end of August, then September has come very rainy and cold, quite rare season so far.

That early outdoor Malawi is amazing, especially if it's the same than your favourite resinous indoor female. It's impressive she is so advanced at this time of the year. Here all our Malawis flowering outdoors are 2-3 weeks behind yours.

Hope you and your friends enjoy the genetics and the beautiful flowers coming from your outdoor labour. Best wishes for the rest of the flowering ;)

another Malawi cut @ 51° in full flower

another Malawi cut @ 51° in full flower

high @ all,
so here is a another cut from the early Malawi @ a different spot...
she got no love in the beginning but after my advice to give some guano with watering all went well...
He has also a Golden Tiger cut but she is to late for our climate... but she looks so great.. can't make a photo of because of sec. but believe me it's a tree... he had to bind down the tops because everybody could see it from far away...
The Malawi is smelling very nice fruity now!
I really felt in love with this magic plant... like the two phenos i know... the early fruity one and the later spicy oily one...
It looks like she get the purple colors lately... will see :)

Just found your topic. Nice.
How was this summer in your garden? We had it very wet and cool. Not a nice summer at all.No hot days, max was 23C I think and the best few days were in august.
Nice grow.Seems like everyone is very satisfied this summer ;)
Nice to see how you finish.
