I have a TETRAPLOID

4 bottom start!

Ever since I started her from seed the leaf structure has been off the charts unique. She is really stable and has super tight nodel spacing. The leaf structure is crazy; the middle leaf is double as long as the others and the other leafs curl under the main one.. It has done this for multiple generations too! I usually only dab but when I went to try this one it really hit me hard and made me feel like a kid again! I then read tonight thay a tetraploid is known for 30%-40%thc if grown correctly.

Can anyone tell me more about this? I am super interested. I have been a looker on these sites for years but today was the day to make a post but I am not to sure how to add a picture since I am using my iPhone right now.

Sorry, but no you don't. Tetraploid refers to the number of chromosomes of a plant, something you can't tell by looking at. What you have is called whorled phyllotaxy.

I do not think it is whorled phyllotaxy, as it split into a 4 stem plant right after being cloned.

send it to a lab and test

I have it at Analytical360 right now getting tested. Has anyone ever seen this trait? I was just told by a really reputable breeder that he has actually seen this only a couple times and said they are legendary strains and they are really exotic. Anyone have any experience with this?

Not to disrespect your friend but if what he says is true we would all see these plants because these forum's would be full of them. ;) it just looks like a mutation to me a nice mutation but still just a mutation. But mutant's can be beautiful things. :peacock:

I do not think this form would be filled with these because they are rare. I know strains that are so exotic only certain groups have them and have to pay amounts such as $30k to get that certain strain. I am just curious to see if anyone else on here HAS one like this, or if anyone has ever SEEN one :)

Now if you could only get ppl to buy bud for the leaves you'd be golden.;)
lol cheers,..............................................gps

I think the suggestion to test was implied as a DNA test.
That's the only way to know if the plant is truly "tetraploid".

I don't even see any whorled phalotaxy in those pics.

I'd call the plant a special mutant.

Hit it with some pollen & see how the offspring turn out. Who knows... Maybe you could create a stable line starting with that crazy lady. :D

quokka

I've had plants do things like that........ i don't really think it's a rare special thing exactly.

I see this alot in plants cloned from mothers in early bloom which grow exactly like that, but i've had 1 or 2 plants grow like that from seed, its just a genetic mutation, nothing more.

What?!

has someone been yanking your chain or are you trying to yank ours... you must have some horrible connections if any variety is going to cost you 30k.

Just how exotic are we talking, to justify that kind of money, like multi top... twisted leaf exotic or even more rare than that? I don't think I could take anything more exotic!
