GG 2015

Preparing for GG 2015.

Probably going to keep it simple this growing season. I have alot going on in my life and I will not have the time to do a large grow with various strains.

I have one plot ready with 20 bags of all purpose soil. Going to run autos in this bed. 70 day start to finish on the Auto strain.

I will have one additional 20 bag plot for like 6 to 8 regular northern photoperiod plants. I will try to have a couple different strains.

I have a drainage ditch with water I plan to use until the water dries up.

Thanks Dog Star

Good to know you will be following me for the season. Its nothing special on the list for the outdoor grow. Going to run some auto seeds I reproduced from last years GG.
Think I will run some Nepal and HFH girls in the other bed.
I will be shutting down the indoor grow after I finish up on these girls. I am thinking to redesign my grow box to be more effective.

About 1 week until seed planting, 15 May.

I am only running 2 raised beds in 1 field this year. Too busy with other life obligations to tie up so much time and work into growing GG.

Each bed is 4 foot x 7 foot or 1.2 x 2.1 meters and each bed will be planted with 1000 seeds of DoubleFun. A unique autoflowering hybrid that is potent with fast flowering time and extreme mold resistance. I will pull males and cull for the strongest females. A true SOG just like last year.

Each raised bed on tarp is 640-800 liters of soil.

Of course just like last year, I will be using slug killer and a fertilizer that is in pellet form with micronutrients. That is about it.

Next year will not be an autoflower grow. Next year I will drop down two of the tarp sides and combine both plots for a combined reg photoperiod grow.

Hope you guys enjoy the grow show this season. Won't be anything like last season but hey its something.

subbed and goodluck, and pics from last year?

are there any holes in the tarp and do you get much rainfall?

Hey Von! I had pictures from last year but I deleted the folders to make room for this years photos. I can see if some other members saved some of the photos.

Last year I ran small raised beds. 5 of them, About 4 bags on each raised bed. I finished with about 50 females per raised bed, when it came harvest time and half of the plants were weak and did not give much bud. It was too little soil and not enough water. It was a hot dry summer and the water was gone from the raised bed in just a couple days.

The tarps are to contain the water this year and not let it flow into the ground underneath. They will keep out the invasive weeds that would steal water and nutrients, also a huge problem last year. And hopefully it will help keep out some insects?

Right now I have no holes in the tarps because we barely get rain in the spring and summer and I need to keep all the water I can at the plants roots.

If we get more rain this year i will just push a metal spike down into the soil and make some holes through the tarp, or just punch some holes on the lower outside bottom. The water can even come out on the corners as the tarp is just folded over on the corners.

My big problem is that ants love to make their colony in the nice loose soil. I have to find a way to kill them this year, they farm aphids on my plants and last year it was an aphid nightmare.

Thanks for stopping by pump

I have several thousand auto seeds ready to go and I am going to do a true SOG with autos just like last year.

I will keep adding 20 to 40 bags of soil each grow season to this grow spot until I get tired of it and relocate to another spot, or hand it off to another grower, or until it has been discovered.

If that happens I will then just spread out the soil and let nature have it.

ya i read that the ants protect the aphids bc of shit they put out that ants eat. im gonna be using neem and karanja oil to keep the bugs off my plants this year. i think other then them protecting the aphids ants dont cause no harm to the plant do they? ive never had that issue but i did notice some ants close to my 1 of my plots so i want to be on high alert to make sure they dont set up shop

Ants directly do not fuck up plants. My experience has been that they keep other insects off the plants. Unfortunately the by product of there existence is they farm aphids, Which when allowed to feed on the plant, there population explodes and seriously fucks up plants in a matter of 1 or 2 weeks. I had them bad last year, And unless you kill the ants the aphids will keep on breeding and coming back. You cant kill them all and with the protection of the ants they will just keep coming back. The key to beating aphids is wipe out the ant colony. I have a powder that I will spread down and the first sign of ants, they pick it up and take it back to the colony and bam, colony is dead. I actually am very fascinated by ants and like them very much, I never go out of my way to kill them, only when it comes to growing my plants. Then they have to go.

I am headed out today to turn the soil over and plant a couple thousand auto seeds. Time to get the grow show started.

im gonna keep neem & karanja sprays on my plants this year so hopefully no bugs will have a chance to get on my ladys this year. Im also gonna use either Calcium Bentonite With Diatomaceous Earth or just plain Diatomaceous Earth-red lake. ive got a few ants at my plots as well and from that i have read the DE will fkk the ants up if they even think about crossing the soil to try to help anything farm. i agree i like watching Ants as well but when they get close to my ladys i squash and nuke them lol. i got some terro liquid traps that has borex in it that does the same thing as ur talking about, taking it back to the colony.

I´ll be watching, I guess it´s ODH´s Af breeds as you mention doubbleFun?

I just recieveed a pack of 20 A-class breeding strains from him, with 20-100 seeeds in each bag, for my breeding this year. I also are going to do a sinsemilla perpetual AF sog this year, that will be sowed every 2w. All ODH autos, some growing now is DR/AK/SD FinDR/DR/AK/PR and also DR/AK/PR from him. Actually just put them in a pot..

My thread will be up later when all seedlings are in theirr GG spots. Not much to look at now, and as all photo´s will be used for breeding, except some that will be put at a sinsemilla spot.

You´re in Sweden too, right?

800L for only 6-8 photos? You can put alot more in that ammount of soil.. I would have done like double that, and tie them down in every possible directon to maximize the yield.. Like Maffe did with his Leb27´s back in when it now was..

I´lll be doing the same, but I dig trenches around 100-140cm long and 40cm deep/wide and in those put between 5-8 regular photos. If I just end up with 3 females, then I´ll put some Af+s in the trench too, in time for being able to be pollinised from the Photos.

Probably will be a hell of alot new really early hybrids done...

Sibbeli I was thinking to throw a few regular girls in with the autos just for the hell of it. You are right about the plant count. Next year I am not running autos. I will combine both tarps full of soil and grow many many regular girls. This year is mostly auto. I am running DoubleFun from ODH. I received the strain last year and I made over 10,000 seeds from the strains I ran. I am using them again this year. DoubleFun finished for me at 58N Sweden at about July 10th If I remember right. 60 day seed to harvest.

So last night I finished. Turned over the soil. Mixed it up again so it was nice and fluffy. Planted several thousand ODH seeds. Covered them, Put down the slug killer. Braced the tarp with strong bamboo sticks. I sprayed deer and rabbit repellant in a full 360 perimeter around the plot. Nothing left to do except let nature do its thing.

I like those DEER-RABBIT reppelent you have,

last year sowed 14 plants outdoor and only 2 harvested due to roe deer problems,
that stuff if works are worth like pure gold.

Good luck with the animal repellent. We had some rabbits dig out a good chuck of our pots, the day after we filled em..... setting up electric fencing now.
