Consequences And Reprocutions Of My Bust 3 Years Ago...

As most people know on here, I got busted about three years ago. 700+ plants, lb's of pot, cops stole ALL my clothes...

A REALLY GOOD lawyer got me 3 years unsupervised probation, $10k fine...

Fast forward several years, I get served at one of my businesses. Apparently the insurance company for the house I got busted in, wants almost $100k in damages, and is suing me....

When the cops busted the place, they tore it up! Tore down walls, tore doors off jams, cut power, fucked up the nice wood floor, scratched all the walls, fucked the house up!

When they went in to start repairing the place, they found lead in the paint and asbestos. Guess what? I have to pay for that!!

Thankfully, I have a new lawyer Brother in the Freemason's and we are fighting through this, to try to get the damages reduced. Looks like I will be paying close to $60-70k after all said and done...

Just something to think about, when renting a house. THIS CAN come up...:tiphat:

Do not know much about laews where you live, but getting off with just probation think you did very well there.

You need to sue the cops for damages...or really the landlord needs to sue them...send your first lawyer a bill for not settling that shit when you went to court in the first place...

good news is the new medical dispensary law for nevada has language in it that you will be responsible for all costs the cops or firemen or hazmat people incurred while they were tering your house apart. figure you are getting off easy.

Totally fucked up. I know here if they bust a grower, they bring in a "hazmat" type cleanup team and the grower has to pay for the clean up. They treat it the same as a meth lab any more. Granted, some growers in rented homes cut hole in walls and ceilings, and don't vent so moisture buildup causes mold and other damage. But I believe they are the small minority of growers that do so. It's just a money making thing for the cleanup crew. Have even heard that the cleanup crews here have been reselling the equipment from the raided grower.

Edited---Was typing this out while HUGE was posting the same thing, lol

The terrorizing of growers is a Jobs Creation program for LEO.

I'm in Oregon. I saw a crew of 4 "officers" (I use the term loosely) harass a local, some skinny guy standing on the sidewalk across from a dispensary (that was shut down).

Later at a local Internet cafe I saw one of the local cops and asked him about it. "Why do you need 4 cops to deal with one skinny guy who is just standing there ?" He suddenly looked like he had a toothache.

That's disgusting, but unsurprising. Best of luck to ya Krunch, and anyone else who is unfortunate enough to have to endure something similar.

That does suck. I've always rented too, but it seems less risky with a small grow for personal use.

At least you still have your freedom. If you had been busted in a less friendly state, you'd still be in prison 3 years later. I knew a guy in Florida who got a longer prison sentence for a smaller grow.

hell yeah!

Also that's total BS that they sue you and not the owner for the asbestos, if you rent a house how can you be responsible for how it was made?

60-70K is better than years in jail. there is no price on freedom.

we got in the game, we know the rules & supposedly the consequences. thats why there is such profit, because it is illegal... and grows like this are for profit, no doubt about it.

its our responsibility to leave the place as we found it, and if not, the expense to fix it is fully ours... certainly not the homeowners bad. they rented in good faith, and we are responsible for our end.

you should be held accountable, thats part of the game that you decided to play... same w the rest of us.

and yes, that doesnt mean the laws & pigs arent fucked up... yes they are. but so is the situation for an unsuspecting homeowner, unless they were in on the deal & taking a cut... then they assume some risk too.

So none of the damage was from growing 700+ plants in a house?

I had a total of three rooms going, two flowering, one veg. If I remember correctly, 650+ of the plants I was charged for, were rooted clones. I only had maybe 20 in flowering, but were getting pulled that day...

Of course there was damage on my end, but nothing that a couple hundred dollars and some hours of work would of taken care of...

Hey launch maybe you should flip the table on them.. We're you aware of the lead asbestos? I know when a house is sold that was built before 1978 most contracts have a clause Telling people that the house they are purchasing could contain lead or asbestos. When you signed your lease for rent did they make you aware? If not then the owner left you at risk being exposed to them by not let u know
