hello all,

So I had a tooth pulled and I am not supposed to smoke in order to avoid dry socket from drawing on a pipe or joint... but i figured I could still take a shotgun hit and went digging for my 1977 Power Hitter.

I thought some of you guys may enjoy seeing and reminiscing about some of the old smoking devices you used to use.

I have some more old things like a marijuana gin... you remember when you had to sift seed from bud? Ill continue looking for that and other things... if you guys want to share some of your old gear... by all means, of course please share.

Hey Abja, got those of off e-bay, there are tons of ,do a search for vintage nut grinders, they used to use them to grind nuts, androck is the name if the company that made them. Yea the tops unscrews off. It never over grinds the buds and makes a real nice consistency.
I paid about 5 to 10 bucks for them, if you have a grandmother around she might have one in her cupboard.

We had one of those back in high school but it was this putrid green color and I say we cause I can't even remember who's it was. It was always just rolling around in the back of someones car or trunk and we'd get it out and go to the moon. I remember a cop once when they used to break your pipes and grind your herb on the ground and let you go, found that on a pullover and threw it down and stomped on it and it just flattened like and didn't break, although it bent the inside metal thing. He then picks it up looks at it kinda bewildered I guess thinking if I throw this on the side of the road it will be garbage and tosses it in the back seat of the car lol Of course not less than 1 mile from leaving the scene we already producing the herb he didn't find and power hitting once again. IIRC someone got arrested that time for being cocky and we we were of course smoking in his honor :D good memories :rasta:

I remember the Power Hitter very well. Used it until we melted the metal tube right outa the plastic top. I still use a 40 year old rolling tray with the seed holder at one end. It still does a great job. :smoke:

I use to have a "Mary Gin". I thought those were such a great invention for taking the seeds out of the weed. Mine was yellow. I lost mine somewhere during this long strange trip.

On the bottom of my tray it says
US Pat No4,063,645
BRAND X COMPANY
PO BOX 26385
Tucson, Arizona 85726

I'll try and get a pic posted in the next few days.
Side note I have a newer one that I picked up 5 to 10 years back that I don't like as much as my old one. So "someone" is out there (re)making them.

seed from bud was done via notebook and school ID, weight and gravity thing ya know? God knows we wished there was a better way. Then we found High Times, and it was like finding porn.

pipes in my youth were the chamber pipes that you could screw together to make any crazy thing you could dream of back then. People also put pot in the chambers to get it full of resin, yea, I can say I did that. I also got a protopipe

^ ^ The proto pipe :D that thing was awesome until you didn't use it for a while and then getting that little disk out to clean was a real bitch! The other pipe you show with the chamber is still the only type pipe my friend will use. He gets mad that they don't sell them everywhere anymore so when he looses one it's a little bit a hunt to find another. He says he feels like a girl with a glass pipe, I told him maybe so but shit it tastes so much better :rasta:

Plug hole and squeeze
