This is my first attempt at hydro. I am a soil lover at heart, but I like to play and I like to build knowledge, so here goes.

I used hydroton rocks and a flood and drain cycle for irrigation. I found that I was irrigating way to often and my roots and eventual yeild suffered because of that. Nutrients were Super Bloom A and B, and Liquid Karma. I added Foxfarm's new Pk boosts as well, both Beasie bloomz, and Cha Ching. I also used hygrozyme to help with some of my root problems. Well enough talking, on with the pics...

Strain is sensi star, and they were flowered as soon as they had grabbed a hold.
Have a great day...

Well Shit Sunny, Not a bad first run in the water. Hydro can be a blessing or just a constant pain in the ass. Besides the watering schedule, what do you plan on doing different? I plan on doing a table or two soon, so I might bug ya later. Nice stubby lil kids ya got there. Keep it goin'

Thank you ALL for your replies and kind words...

I am using hydroton for my medium and so i thought that I needed to water more frequently. But being the male that I am I overcompensated and watered too often. I am using just a normal timer that has 15 minute incriments, and I have it cut one once, for fifteen minutes every 2 hours. Next run I plan on doubling my dry time to 4 hours inbetween each watering. If any hydro guys have any input I would GREATLY APPRECIATE it!!!

I plan on running this little system for a while...it is just way too much fun!!! I NEVER plan on replacing my organic soil garden with water culture, but hydro is a skill I'd like to perfect.

Thanks again for the kind words....and if anyone knows anyone with hydroton experience in ebb n flow....send em my way if you dont mind.

I will let you know yeild when the plants are in the jars...right now it looks like 120 grams or so...not bad for 2 square feet.

I'm using hydroton on E&F tables Sunny. I've been trying to figure out if my timing is right too. For my 3x3 flower table I've been flooding for 8 minutes every 2 hours and for my 3x6 veg table I've been flooding for 30 minutes every 2 hours. I have gone 6 hours between a watering when I was working in the room and didn't notice too much wilting. I'm guessing you'll be fine with 4 hours.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

thanks for your input THC...we will figure this out sooner or later...:) I am going to try netcups next time too instead of the pots the system came with... I also decided to get a cover for the tray, so I can suspend the cups to allow for better air flow. Just a couple of minor changes, that should make all the difference in the world. I will definately fill you in.
