All types of critters are welcome here that's a awsome snake. I love all kind of wild life especially when they are hanging with the flowering girls!

Good catch! It does look like a cocoon. It could also be something that died there which has been infected with a fungus. Hard to say for sure without a more detailed pic.
Fake news. Those bugs are on leaves and a cane. Sad. Very sad.
The snake is a scarlet king snake and it is harmless. It can be confused with a coral snake which is venomous.Glad you didn't get bit by that red striped snake! Looks like it has poisonous venom!
Aphids
Don't think spider mites eat aphids maybe you mean ladybugs? Idk maybe they do.makes me wonder - if you bought some spider mites, can the spider mites survive the colder weather to come back & eat aphids the next day ?
Little suckers they are so annoying. Good pictures anyway.
