How about this kit:

20 dollar simple reliable diaphragm pump... loud as a hair trimmer, silent if you cover it up abit. and it can pump 40 meters up hill.

20 watts, 3l seems to be the best efficiency and pricepoint, so if you leave it on 10 hours all night, you come back you have 180 litres, 50 gallons...
if you are on very flat terrain get a regular high flow low pressure pump with fast output.

solar panel

... cover it in bubble wrap for sky invisibility (glare)
panel regulator:

it stops your battery every getting too low, so it will turn the pump off anytime battery is empty.

12v battery...

timer:

so you can tell water pump to just run at night..

with this system, you can pump easily 3 tons of water in a summer.

a 20ah battery can probably put through 2 tons with a high pressure pump and in about 12 hrs

and 5 tons of water on flat land with a low pressure pump like 600gph

fuck petrol!!!!!!!

I have a lot of experience with electric pumps... you should know they aint supposed to run real long, mine is recommended no more than 30 min... the new one I got is rebuildable...

How could you possibly need more than 37 gallons per minute? Thats way more than plenty, if you need a pump bigger than that, you are growing too much.

Yes, it does push the water higher than it sucks, but....you are using 4 more horse power to do it than a smaller pump that does it better. The point I was trying to get across was the fact that the trash pump is all set up for moving large quantities a short distance, alot of weight and power is used to do a job you don't need to do, why haul the extra weight.

Old forum i know but someone breathed new breath to her so im joining in.. lol you two crack me up lol. i have a small homelite water pump thats something like 10 pounds and pumps 1800gph, thats pretty iinsane so i understand why ud go with the smaller pump as would i!!! ever had to carry anything in the canadian shield? rocky steep terrain. I wonder if uve ever been in the bush and not the city, due to ur analogy between lawnmowers and chainsaws, cause in the bush they are all loud lol. ur considering using a gas pump because of your location if you were concerned about noise one would use an electric one... Im sorry there is no excuse you could give me with something that large strapped to ur back wrapped in a tarp and it be believable lol.... Ummm reverting water to help the local beavers bahahaha....

Well bought a new pump as some joker crashed a huge boulder into the original one, new one didn't want to fire after a season, took it home and planned to go to the dealer but tried one more time fired up no issue, go figure had fresh petrol, oh well hike it back in and stash it real good, up a tree this time.
