but basically what i do is, when the plant is about 18 inch's tall, i will take the main top and bend it sideways with wire. at that point it already looks like a bush, then a week later, you untie the wire and your plant will take that bush shape...
i can easily take some pics for you if you would like
sounds like a nice technique without much stress for the plant. i would love to see that in a little more detail if you find the time.

seeing any yellowing yet? Like I said I'm running around 9 strains, most of which are happy with the 8-10 ml per gal but 2 in particular are already up near 12.5-13ml and already yellowing.

GOOROO- hi again! you know, my banners where getting a tad less green on me, so ive been hitting them with 1000 ppms, then letting them drift down to 500 threw out the week, thenn back to 1000 again, they have been very green and healthy!
im running 4 dif strains, 2 of them being fast finishing indicas, then the other 2 that finish around 70 days, and im not yellowing or anything. hope this helps

ya I bumped them up to around 1000 ppm's with only 100 or so being calmag.
setting up my rez to just top off with ro water and had been thinking about letting it drift and how low to let it go.... thanks for the advice.
is that 1000ppm of just a + b?

its about 900 of a and b then 100 of calmag
plus my enzymes and sugars, but those dont add ppms
ya after 1000 i will go like 700 or 800 ppms , not adding any more calmag!!!then 5 or 6 , untill the runoff gets to around 500 or 600 ppms
i only add calmag at the beginning of the week.
usualy takes me a week to run it from 1000 to 500.

so i didnt have a big enough plant to really show you guys how i do it, but this will give you a idea!

^normal plant
^my wire, i use thermastat wire, pretty cheap and you can get alot of wire from them!!!
^bend wire around top where you want to start your bend, then wrap wire around the base where you want your bend to stay!
^ and that is it! hopefully some of you will find this to benefit your garden! as i know it does mine !!!!
no plants where harmed in the making of this tutorial ....lol
from this point, i would leave the wire for about 7 days, then undo wire and your lower tops should have caught up to your main, and now you will have a glorious bush of many tops!!!
^prophet shot to sweeten the deal! i just tied her up as her heavy ass nugs where about touching the table! lol
had to tie my blockhead aswell! some heaver F***ERS!

i find that when i top my plants theyll have to much space in the middle. if your plants grow into a bush it has just the same outcome as topping and you wont loose your middle top cola and dont have the stress slowing them down, its overall a better technique i would say.

that really does help actually.
so then after that week do you just add calmag and bring it all the way back up or do you dump it all and start fresh
well by then, ill just use all my water up, then fill up fresh ro water, thats when i add my 1000 with calmag,
but lets say i have a hole can of water still, thats 600, and i know theres cal mag in it, then ill just add more a and b to bring that to 1000.
i only add calmag to tanks that i know have ZERO CAL MAG in them... if that makes since
for some reason when ive been ripping sour d out the bong all day, i cant explain myself as good as i want !! lol atleast thats how it feels
ellinho- forsure man, i topped for like 5 years, and since ive been bending i can forsure say you wont regret trying it out! plants grow at there normal rate, and you keep that beautiful main top!!!

wow sick tip on the thermostat wire; thanks dude; i bought some similar product at the garden center but im sure thermostat wire is cheaper.

no you made sense...the reason I asked was because I am running mine on blumats so using all the water left doesn't really happen due to the lack of water pressure.
