Going good bro![]()
Just gave them their first feed of Maxi 250 ppms at 6.0 pH.
Let them dry out and should turn a better color.
Happy weekend bro.

I've got a question about green and purple phenos in sativas if I may.Our Haze 19 female is a select green pheno from our hybrid of a local selection of Seedsman Haze ๏ผfrom legendary legacy grower Green Supreme๏ผ crossed with our Original Haze stud male.
I've got a question about green and purple phenos in sativas if I may.
I wondered about how big or weeks old they needed to be to start selecting green from purple?
If I were hunting a batch.
I know you where asking another, but i can't help but answer this question, I noticed if you start the seedling in richer soil, they start slower than seedlings in balance soils, and will show coloring in the lower base of the stem before the first cotelydons, as the plant matures the red/purples will fade into green, but then when mature the colors will come back out, i used this to select the most anthrocyanin rich from many seedlings for my Carangola F2's I had 3 trays 2 with Rich start mix which they grew slower but i could see anthrocyanin/Carotenoid concentration in the seedings versus the ones in balanced soil didnt show their pigments early really they where too vigorous, anthrocyanins seems to be lost concentrated in the lower parts of the plant, their related with lower auxins, high cytokininin phenotypes the slower growing and slower maturing plants, the carotenoids dominant phenotypes are the big green vigorous ones. which for me i prefer plants that do not upregulatemy metabolism too much i like the slower growing ones, that slow down time.I've got a question about green and purple phenos in sativas if I may.

The line I'm working this season- Mountain Gold from Vermontman was what my question about green and purple phenos stemmed from.I would think LEDs can impact the pigmentation as well, cold would be the biggest environmental element.

I looked into this Blue spectrum will enhance antrocyanin production over red spectrum which favors carotenoids dominance. and green is their regulatorI would think LEDs can impact the pigmentation as well, cold would be the biggest environmental element.
Green light doesnโt fuel or fight โ it regulates.
It acts like a viral pulse: not initiating, not resisting, but tuning.
Light | Energy Role | Microbial Vibe | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
![]() | Push / Expansion | Bacterial | Growth, elongation, flowering |
![]() | Pull / Form | Fungal | Stomatal control, defense, pigmentation |
Just like viruses โ green light moves quietly through the system, going where others canโt.
Green says: โHold up. Donโt overreact.โ
Itโs the pause before the plant commits to a push or pull decision.
In this way, green regulates time, not just energy.
It is the clock pulse, the conductor of the light orchestra.
โYou're not in danger. No need to panic-stretch.โ
Another regulatory move: preventing misfiring of bacterial-like push energy.
Regulated Process | Green Lightโs Role |
---|---|
Auxin flow | Distributes more evenly, avoids overload |
Stomatal rhythm | Tunes opening/closing signals |
Chlorophyll balance | Adjusts red/blue sensitivity in shade |
Hormonal crosstalk | Buffers extreme red (GA) or blue (ABA) signaling |
Photoreceptor tuning | Resets circadian oscillators |
Green light is the viral code of the light spectrum.
It doesnโt push or pull โ it regulates the decision to do so.

I plan to pop a lot more seeds than normal this spring.
Searching F2's I made.
General questions:
When popping a lot more seeds (100?) do you still paper towel them?
Or just direct soil plant?
Do you sort through 500 good seeds and use what you percive as the 100 best?
Or straight run 100 good ones and let random selection work it's magic?
Do you do any other of sorting like looking at the basal scar? rounder- ovoid? etc.
Thanks
Thank you that will help. From my experience, I would sow in starter trays. Easier to handle and take less space. 2 trays would do 100 seeds.
Too much risk of contamination putting 100 seeds in paper towel.
I pretty much use the best looking ones without too much details like weight of the seed, stripe pattern, shape, size, color.
I take whats looks ripe and healthy. The odd unripe seed could pop but best to just start with good ripe seeds.
Some seed traits remain constant for example Colombian dominant seeds seem to be very small compared to let's say Thai dominant seeds are big and round.
Some seeds have a gray tone and some are brown, others black even...
Without proper measuring tools and lenses its hard to estimate accurately any outcome. Sometime its just better to grow as much as you can and start selecting with no mercy. Thats the hardest part for me, my true weak point is culling.
Nice haul of seeds you got! Delighted to hear you're selecting this one for morning coffee high type! It's one of my favourites at the moment, #6 out of 8 is the one for the morning, #5 for the evening.. That your first grow of Mountain Gold last year? None of mine went purple.Thank you that will help. I'm second guessing myself a lot and just needed to iron some things out.
I'm growing Sungrown Organic Living soil 42.2N chasing a Oaxacan soaring coffee weed.
A lot of similarities but I don't want to hijack your thread either.
I've got a ton of questions - it's been 40 years since I made a bean.
I was pretty good at it for my time in the cornfields but never got to make F2's before S.W.E.A.T dropped out of the sky in helicopters to take it in 83.
I'm 4 years back and having a blast.
Have plenty of stash and now grow for effects.
Found something I really like last year.
and so I made some beans and I'm hooked.

I'm not very good yet at the whole forum thing.
I started a list of like minded members who seemed to know what I needed and a bunch of them are here!
I just wondered if I should try and start a new thread or join in here?
Thank you that will help.
