Forgot to mention, the male is still alive, metabolizing and also build up pollen sacs… insane

That’s Dutertes Nightmare aka Filipino male, I should be nicer to him but it seems that to unleash true survival mode he needs to be in the shit for ever.

That’s the only cut that survived till now.

Intense selective pressure! I love it!
I’ve been doing this method for several years now. First with only females, now with both.
Nothing better than Mother Nature to shape a cultivar. If any of these plants survive, it would be a second winter back to back, to me that’s impressive. Same kinda of treatment.

I’m also taking notes on the way to harvest/prune the phenotype in order to help with the redistribution of Auxins later in spring.

It’s a work in progress.

Well I have some idea what I wanna try to grow out this season. I’m gonna work for multiple purposes and I will also aim to start light dep right at Summer solstice.

White buffalo seed colective
2 band aid haze #1
2 Lao Hanh Haze
2 Dart 3/4 haze

2 Honduras Ace
2 Panama red Swami aka Gas
2 SMG colombia Swami aka Gas

2 SLH Argentina sourced
4 Durban poison x Filipino DN2022LWG

6 Jamaican skunk X Yucatán Mex 2015F1LWG

6 Jamaican Irie X DN2022F1LWG

3 Chiang Mai Ace “green pheno” X DN2024LWG
3 Chiang Mai Ace “pearl pheno” X DN2024LWG

This is what I’m going to try to run this season.

I won’t be able to touch any of the Thai seeds recovered recently, that’s a next year goal.

I want to use the peak of summer for light dep and really getting the plants to soak the good sun during flower. By End of September I could be well advanced and possibly get to 3/4 finished by November.

And then clone and continue under lights thru winter. Its gonna be a mixed grow depending on males. but will clone females and also plant elsewhere see how far they get on their own.

Why do you not want to start dep a month or so before solstice so you can 100% finish in October using peak light Intensity?

doing them light dep’d and also cloned au’natural is a cool idea that would paint a real nice picture for reference :)

That looks like a good idea. If you do a proper light control starting in the Solstice, you can have any 12 weeker done by the end of September. If you plant them in the first half of April they will be totally ready.

Good luck

why at solstice?
What hours would you cut to, Would you do hard 12/12(for example) or try to replicate a tropical light cycle?

Yeah guys I did it July August last year with some heavy sativas like SMG from swami and ACE Chiang Mai and they took 4 weeks to build up and transition to flower. By September I had them pollinated. I had to finished them under lights all November.
So my thought is give them another month to build up and maybe harvest in October ? It’s very weather dependent here, if we have a long dry October it helps if not they have to go under lights.

I will do a sharp 12/12 light dep, it’s easier for me to wake up early and open light at 6 am or 630 am and the sun will be shining them close up light once I get back from work. It’s all elbow grease but worth it.

I will also put the best veg pheno in ground to see them fully express. I have to build a hoop house where I’m putting the selection in ground.
For the veg it will be under lights now at 13/11 until natural light goes 13/11 then they go outside until the final selection, some go in ground some in pots and some passed out to buddies and/or planted somewhere safe for them to battle it out.

I had a great result last year with light dep and that really motivated me to do it again.

Also I paired them to be potential matting partners depending on males. For example the Honduras, Panama, colombia could be a great mix. Same for the Haze selection from White Buffalo. Myself I really want to show here the 2015 Jamaican skunk x Yucatán Méx. this is a very intense gene pool with plants going above 7ft if untrained and not managed, but this is the most Narrow Leaf I got in my garden.

Hopefully something good comes out of all this.

Cheers

Looking forward to seeing this lone-wolf!
Will you do some of your Duertes nightmare too?

I’m looking forward to grow some herb as well.

Duterte sadly I don’t have more seeds but I was smart enough to send a dozen seeds out to a fellow wolf in USA and UK. The possibility of doing a seed increase is still viable, and maybe urgent.
I have pollen from last years male, maybe not viable anymore I will find out.
The good thing is 2024 Duterte was crossed with Ace Chiang Mai and SMG colombia so we locked him down with some already great genetics. Plus Im pulling out all the crosses made from 2022 and 2023 Duterte males. Time to see how the progeny looks and acts like.
From what I seen in previous grows, the male is really intense and dominant.
———-

Meanwhile what I left in the pots before leaving to Thailand, well all dead but the Chiang Mai is looking like she alive and trying hard to survive. It’s impressive to even see green and alive foliage. This is a nonintervention test so all I can do is watch them survive or die.
Already this is a positive result, they survived January and February on their own.

Smokes amazing, uplifting sativa head high, with a lingering spice smoke and smells of green tea, dry herb, floral, slight lemon mango fruit background. It’s not a CBD high like I tasted with some Thai grown flowers.

Ace Chiang Mai x Dutertes 2024. It’s great to test progeny as a collective.
