Monday 24th February.

So that's the start of another crop they're oot the trap flying

At the weekend I got my clone tent connected up to the flower tent ventilation with a length of ducting, it supplies enough negative pressure to prevent smell getting into/out of the room.

It's only 2ft laying down it's not ideal tbh I'm not even sure if that sp150 (135w) in the pic will be too bright at that distance, if I turn it to 3ftvthen I've only a 2ft square that a 2ft tray doesn't even fit in

My other clone tent is 2x3ft and 3ft high so I need work something out between the two for the best use of them, previously vegging seeds I had to swap them every night into the flower tent...aye those were the days

The vegging side of things is coming along nicely too.

The clones are looking lush I'm pleased with those considering the input, atm it's 250ml a day poured into the tray, they need a tiday up!

New seeds updated pic.

One looks a bit burnt already but majority are OK, it's a democratic grow majority wins
I'm giving them 0.8ec cold it'll be rising 15/20% when it's heated but that should still be ok?

Seeds 1wk since planting they'll soon be ready to flip

I'm going to give the stragglers a few days more, I'm a bit unsure about the Hsc blueberry there's only a couple of wisps growing from the cotoleydons I've seen that few times never progressing past those more the once I hope it's OK (back left corner)

Tip...I 2/3rd fill my pouches leaving a little space to top up any leggy seedlings.

There's a couple of them need a bit longer to grow I was more like to do harm than good trying to top them up just now.

I put them into a bigger tray and put the heat matt under them it's going to be needed when I flip, I need to find a suitable tube heater for that tent, I've a 120/or 150w but I need to squeeze it in diagonally it's a bit more than 3ft.

I didn't get the crop cut down today but I did get the leafs removed and ready to go cut and hang tomorrow.

Edit...I sorted out a controller and 120w heater for my seedling tent 70cm/2ft 4inch

My tent is going to be cosy!

I harvested this morning

I'm pleased that's done and started drying, I'm hoping to get it dried and tent taken down and replaced while the seeds are vegging.

My zipper de railed a few weeks back I can't afford to have the zipper breaking when I've crop in there, I'm using the zipper that was parked for years it feels tight and sounds zippy it might be ok?

I was hoping to not be here when I next set a new tent.

What is the closest you have had flowering plants to your LED.
I have a 460W Spider Farmer and there is one plant that is probably 9" away from the light. Out of 4 plants this plant has clawed leaves in places either from too much nutrients or the light. This is a new soil mix and a work in progress for this particular plant.

I dread facing this tent I'm not fit for it tbh I've few options but to tough it out, I've been here before it's surprising what I can get done a little bit at a time.

I would normally try to maintain 9/10" between the canopy and plant tops, getting too close the light spread can suffer.

There's occasions where plants have grown 3" to 4" from the light

I'd say this was around 4" with the light set at 600w

I can't remember the name of the light but it's a generic 720w straight 4k sannan chips and some ir chips.

It's been a few days they're coming along nicely

A couple look a little peaky so I tested the run off and it's a bit high 1.5/1.6ec.

I noticed the pouches are a little thirsty when I'm using the heat matt so that adds up given there's continuous heat applied to them.

I've unplugged the heat matt, rinsed the pouches and also installed a tube heater so I'm going to flip them tonight or maybe tomorrow?

I've also considered 2.5/3wks vegging in future, it seems logical a bit more vegging time would be advantageous if bigger plants were the order?

I'm thinking that shouldn't affect the flower time too much if at all...
Edit...that's based on 4wks ± before sex shows so flowering must have initiated ± 10 days earlier?
So there's a minimum of 2.5 weeks of obligatory vegging before they're mature enough to initiate flower?

I've got too many plants to try it just now but I will in time, maybe next time?

I have never done a controlled experiment but they say your plant is going to take up to 3 weeks to flower no matter what hours it's on, so you might as well have longer grow hours for this first 3 week period for increased production. Sounds logical but have never verified it.

I've found with 12-12 its around 3.5/4wks before they start showing the 1st signs, say 4.5/5wks before they've all cleary established their sex.
I've worked the time backwards from sexing, sexing ime takes 3.5/4wks before signs start on the earlier ones it's another wk± for the bulk of them to show cleary, if you work back 10 days from there ± and veg until that time it shouldn't affect the flower time too much, maybe not at all but idk, I've got trouble accepting a bigger plant won't take longer, or maybe it could take longer to start flowering instead, idk hopefully I'm just plain wrong that'd be best around

That'd be like 3 fems tied etc + 3 clones tied etc that'd leave 16 sites comfortably...that's a plan?

It's great that you can come back and add to posts I like that about Icmag, sometimes you want to add something that doesn't warrant posting again, it also gives us the chance to keep related information grouped together

The proof is in the results... I have grown once from 12/12 but didn't keep any detailed info so my experience has no basis for outcomes. I do remember it took a few weeks for flowering to start, I believe it was a Peak Seeds BC Blueberry strain and produced no branches just a column and it was maybe 14"-16". It was only 1 plant 1 time in the past 10 years.


When I use to listen to Reeferman, he commented if your growing from 12/12 you should grow a minimum of a 12 week flowering strain for proper production.

That sounds like a good plan, like mainlining the plant? I've always liked that idea to get bulky buds, minimizing lower larf and maximizing light reaching more of the plant. Look forward to seeing your next project

Maybe next again crop I'll concentrate more on clones/yeild and grow just a handful of seeds

I enjoy putting a bit time into vegging if I've not to many, my biggest problem is room to move in the tent, if I had easy access to the plants it'd be ideal, the plants at back aren't as well cared for because after a certain stage I can't reach them for maintenance...not without considerable hassle i mean.

I enjoy growing seeds these days with 12-12 I want to continue growing them with each crop even if its only 3 or 4 it's like Christmas at harvest for me these days

Right on, if you were to focus on a few in a bigger tent, you could potentially set up in a U-shape layout. Two plants left, one-two plants in back and another two on the right. It was my favorite layout with self draining buckets. Example below, as you could tell on this run I added a plant in the middle.

Your plants looking ripe at 8 weeks, if perpetual and readied made clones, could pull a lotta harvests

How big of a tent did you get? If it's ~60" or 150cm then you should be able to get 6 - 8 medium plants and might still be able to walk in. Yeah, the lower light hours seem to noticably quicken flowering time.
