Things move on, its called progress (although some would disagree)
A Friend/client has an electric Porche and it certianly looked like a sports car.

Bob Dylan was booed for the first electric guitar performance in 1965

10 years ago people were saying that LEDs would never take over from HPS.

my buddy leased a caddy ev.. fukin cheap msrp 65k, 3k down, 401 a month for 24mos - they r giving em away... i drove it, and when i stepped on the gas (what else do u call it??) , it pins u with its 500hp... but very disconcerting.... no sound... i grew up with muscle, had a small collection of 22 mopars, 12 hemi's, 8 6pks, and the sound is what gives u the woody.... ofcourse todays cars would kick ass of any old muscle.. save a couple/maybe 3... and another thing, it will probably save your hearing tooo...

I disagree and i think most would these days. you're ok with electric guitars though ?
i luv elec guitars, only wish i could play it way/way better then how i play (barely play it ) now .... tho i don't get the relationship between a guitar and a light fixture..

I think the two things ICE have over electric is the sound and the smell.

IVe seen these guys rolling see in Japan they’re fkn legends in my eyes the locals hate em. They just cruise around “calling” out at 2am, the bike Gang versions usually.

Their whole buzz is revving and clutching
in their own individual ways to make their personal “call”.

I didn't claim any relationship. i was using them as examples of technological advancements which were initially regarded with suspicion and distaste, but were eventually embraced by most.
People resist change but it is inevitable and usually for the better.
The thread is about cars though so sorry if i dragged it off topic.

two things
years ago i was teching at racewaypark nj (69 bigblock chevelle)- next to us was a honda or mitsui with a latino driver- the tech guy (all italians) to the guy he was missing a lug so take your POS back to newark..

more recently my young son was driving my wifes superbird... at a red lite the jap car next to us with his fart pipe was revving the engine ... i told my son don't even think about it... how embarrassing will it be when at the next lite he is waiting for us to arrive...

I'm truly happy with the two EV's that we've had. Grew up in an era when 'quarter mile' races were popular with the locals, relatives would race in the next state over. Excess noise really bothers me, now and I have arthritis...and found that going for a ride in a cybertruck was the quietest and softest ride in my seventy years of experience with any vehicle. The garage is way cleaner, now. Can warm up the vehicle(and power up) inside the garage without killin anyone. All that being indoors and not out in -50 F. wind chill is most appreciated.
I would say that some of the best features are QUIET and LACK of smell.
Oh, wanted to mention that the cyber truck is far more agile than it looks, the thing does very tight circles and is made for adventures in parking lots. Evil shopping carts whimper when they see it.

I've said that from the first time that I saw one. Still say it, but there are others that think it's space age cool. I really don't care about its looks once I went for a test drive. So roomy, clean, quiet, and has the 'fast' if you need it.
Usually we 'older folk' don't care for the style, but the young boys seem particularly wowed. We've had kids convince their mom to ask us total strangers if their boys could get pictures with the beast.
Commented to the hubby about how it looks even meaner when muddy.
It fits our situation, better than ICE.

Oh, in a dress. Well, I suppose that a dude in dress can be a good substitute for a girl. Just thinking about pies, popcorn bags, sox, showers with nice soap... if the need is great, substitutes happen. Why pick on 'just one' substitute? Do you really want to make babies with any of those? Besides, there are those who prefer dudes in a dress to girls.
What is it that you are looking for in a sports car? Looks? Speed? Noise? Girls? Envy garnering?

When I turned 50, I did the sports car thing. I bought a 17 year old Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Two of the reasons I wanted it was for the sound and the smell. An air cooled Porsche had a unique smell of leather, oil and gas that was utterly intoxicating. And when you fired it up, the flat 6 engine – if the valves were properly tightened – had a sewing machine on drugs kind of sound. And . . . it was the only car that I ever made money on and . . . of course . . . the one that I miss the most.

Oh, i understand. Miss the sound of my GranTorino, especially the wheeze and thunk when turned off. Don't know why I liked that, sort of a 'gran finale', ha. Why did you sell?
