Ok explain this then.

You passed his course year ago , I came up with all this and you dont know. I never passed his course.

But now suddenly you know. Please.
What theory? I was referring to your random figures about commerical ops. What did YOU come up with that I disagreed with that is in Bugbees lectures or videos? I feel like you are confusing our disagreements with ones youve had regarding red/far red/uv with other members. You were babbling to me about your kwh costs and laughing that we use solar when our kwh cost is literally 20x more than yours.

Actually you calculated the wrong ppf output and you forget to add the canopy surface.so its all wrong. :(

ppf = 600w hps @1.8umols/w = 1080 umols/s

day= 56

canopy surface = ?m2

ppf/canopy surface = ?mole umols/s/m2

.22g/mole/m2/day *?mole *56 day *?m2 = gram

example for 4x4 canopy surface.

for 16 sqft(4x4) = 1.5 m2

dli=1080/1.5= 720/umols/s/m2 * 3600s/h * 12h/day =31.1 mole/day

.22*31.1*56*1.5= 574gr

574gr/600 = .95gr/w

up to 862g = 1.45gr/w
hi im not here to argue with anyone i dont even use led except in veg.
but i have a 600w hps. can you explain these numbers to me? are you saying i should be getting 856grams out of my 4x4 to be using it efficiently?
i usually only keep it as 300w or 450w cuz its hard to cool except in the winter, it gets the same air as the rest of my house. i figure i average about 60gram in a 1sqft footprint. depending on strain. i perpetual grow so i wont have any one grow run totals but the last 2 plants i harvested were 1 ounce each they only take up a litttle more than 1sqft. lowest end of plant i've harvested in that space.

Hey folks I tried moving to led, got a 300 watt from Mars with Bridgelux chips. My plant got dark green veins with pale curled edges. I never got over 50% power at 18 inches. Extra Magnesium didn’t help I always us biomin calcium in the feed water up to stretch time and my mix is calcium heavy . I finally scrapped the works and just had outdoor last year.
My question is about feeding under led I fed the Ace A1killer at 1.2 EV with a 2-3-2 ratio using calcium nitrate and MKP and epsom
Did I underfeed? I’m thinking of going back with HPS but I can’t keep my temp down in hot weather.
I really prefer indoor flowers but fear another failure. Mostly what I want to grow starts flowering too late to finish here at 38 degrees.
Any suggestions appreciated.

It sounds like K problems. More Ca or Mg would make that worse.

This question deserves it's own topic, with some pics. It could run a few pages, and isn't really on topic here.

Thanks guys i appreciate your positive comments👍

@greyfader hey bud, that particular plant was grown under a spider farmer se3000 @250w.
I vegged that and one other @12-12 with t5s for 4 weeks then put it into flower with the se3000 75 days ago±

I used 2x 250w side by side over my canopy.

Front right) It has some weird looking growth but it wasn't taking up space so I let it go.

maybe you gave it depression and it compensated by overeating and getting fat.

what size area were they over? and how close to the canopy did you run them?

their website says they are 300w lights so are yours turned down or were they 250w to begin with?

i hope you don't mind answering. I'm just collecting information.

do you have a par meter and, if so, what ppfd did you use in flower?

and lastly, they show a combination of warm white and cool white diodes plus some dark red.

do you know the ratios of warm white/cool white/dark red?

thank you in advance.

Hey bud, I've got a 5x5 of which I used half of that sectioned off.
My canopy was around 2.5/4.5ft, I run them both around 1ft away, tbh the figures weren't great for 500w I could barely hit 55k across the canopy.

The se3000 is 300w but I turned it down to match with a 250w viparspectra ks250w, the Sf dimmers are horrifying quality so I used the driver to set the 250w.

I don't have a par meter I've a lux meter i can use for a guide but i usually eyeball it tbh.

I'm not sure of the chip mixture, I need to take it down in the next day or two so I'll snap a picture.

Tbh I've had some good results with straight 3k +ir, straight 4k +ir and 3/5k mixes, imo they all do great.

If I can help bud give me a shout no worries.

Cheers

Twins seperated at birth, glad to see the community reuniting long lost blood relatives, hahaha. Awesome job in such small space fellas.

My yields and quality have went up switching from traditional lighting to LED, I fought it for years because they raised me over here on HIDs. It is soon time to put those old lights out to pasture. The cost to replace all my bulbs paid for at least one fixture and now I don’t have to spend money on bulbs and switch them out every year or 2, or sooner if they shit the bed.

Adjustments are needed to keep your environment right, one of the biggest being keep your temperature 80-85F and I had to feed more volume to the plants. They seem to grow quicker and require a bit more juice to keep them happy.

There will always be an old man/woman putting down new technologies and I have probably been guilty of it myself, until I witnessed herb come out of an LED garden just as good or better than what I could produce with HID.

More love, less hate, try and understand where the other side is coming from and who knows maybe you will learn something.

Have a great day my grow crew!
