Ten days ago (April 20.) I transplanted my two ZamBliss ladies. They are know growing outdoors in a forest glade. This night they had to stand night frost a few Hours (-1°C). Early in the morning I have visited them. White ice cristals have covered the leaves. But they stood upright. I think they are ok. I trust the Nepalese genes regarding cold risistance.

A PanaMalawi a few meters away was bend down.

I will add some photos next time.

I had some Zamaldelica crosses get frozen at like-10C for couple hours then a few minutes through-30C on the way to warmth. Most of the crosses recovered but not straight Zam... hybrid vigour causing cold resistance? I dunno. It kind of freaked me out. Dubi is breeding aliens now.

Hi Yukon,
both (ZamBl and PaMa) survived the night frost. ZamBl looks better. PaMa seems to have a slightly expanded "next morning hang over". There are two more nights with ground frost predicted at the weekend. After that episode also with rains the temperatures should incresase significantly and frost has no more chance. I was a bit too optimistic transplanting the plants outdoors that early at 49 N. My Goal was a veg phase as long as possible without blocking the space Indoors.

Hey Paisajedehierba, great experiment.
A couple of things I've noticed with early starts is that they can show signs of phosphorus deficiency due to the cold locking it out. They'll pick up once the soil warms up, providing there is enough in the soil to start with.
I've also found that plants with hairs on their leaves do extremely well in frost conditions.
Just thought I'd chime in, hope this helps.

I have one going and is in full flower. Buds are numerous and really starting to bulk up compared to a couple of other strains that are on the same schedule. Wonderful Sweet aromas.

thanks for chiming in.
ZamBl looks slightly pale at the Moment and the grow rate is still a bit low. Nevertheless ZamBl puts much of the energy available in the side branches. The frosts have gone. But the weather is very rainy and still not really warm.
Let´s see if the preparation of the sandy soil in my location was
good enough. I have only used organic materials. All oft them are boosting soil life (along the line feeding the soil, not only the plants).
As first step (before transplanting) I mixed the soil with 25% gardening compost (containing all nutrients in moderate amounts), cow dung (moderate amounts of N and P) and animal horn strands (mild longterm N fertilizer). I have added also some garden chalk to increase the low PH.

Looks to me more like a Zamal/Jamaican pheno.

How do the fully ripen Zamal Bliss flowers compared with this early smoke report ? Most of the times, sativas need a proper curing to establish their qualities and reveal their true nature.

Hi Dubi,
I tried the dried flowers from the seed harvest in a joint and in a vaporizer. The onset is a creeper. It takes 15 minutes or more to really feel a buzz in the head.
It's a nice warm lightweight buzz, feel happy vibe with a hard knock out stone after 2 hours, where I needed to take a nap. It tasted like pure Hash ... I probably got the Nepalese Pheno
I'll let her grow 2 more weeks and decide when to harvest when the trichomes start to get brown.

Lone survivor zamal bliss. Had a very difficult time germinating them, 4 died and this was the only one to pull through after 10 days of going between a glass of water and wet paper towel and eventually just forcefully cracking it open, this little girl soldiers on. Going to be hit with panama x honduras pollen

Update time. After a late wintry May now June starts summery and the plants are enjoying the temperatures between 25°C and 30°C. The grow speed accelerates obviously. The branches are nearly growing as speedy as the main shoot. What looks strange to me is the stem. Stem rot (worst case) or simply lignification are passing trough my mind when I see it.

This one seems to be fairly sensitive to nitrogen and she didn't like my soil mix I guess. Same soil mix as several others that I have going so I'm not sure what her problem is...oh well, anyway, the plant is well behaved for indoor growing with a nice sativa structure, but very modest stretch. The buds are not very big and they look pretty much done right now, but trichs remain fairly clear. She's turning purple on the fan leaves although temps have been in the low 60's overnight for months.

The early cured Flowers smell more woody, with hints of floral and Hash. It's still a total creeper. Takes up to 30 minutes to fell the buzz.
In small doses it's a pure feel happy and good weed whereas in higher doses (remember the creeper part) it can feel quite cold and overdosed it gets narcotic.
The High lasts for up to 5 hours and has none or a very low ceiling.

I have another one in beginning flower right now:


On the left (and more or less everywhere in-between) a toped and bound Zamal Bliss that was initially meant to go outside (only the top cutting went outside). To the right 2 Zamal Bliss x (Mauritius x Ethiopian) that a probably booth male.

This plant is like Viagra for the wife. She tried some last night and commented after 15 minutes that it seemed very clear and pleasant. Next thing I know she's jumping my bones.

ZamBl is in a hurry beginning to flower. Both plants are showing asymmetric growth (zigzag) in the tip of each branch. The leaves are not growing oppositely any more. The internodial distance is shortening alot. Since one week (end of June) I would talk about, that ZamBl is already flowering (not only preflowers). Are there semi autoflowering tendencies in Zamal Bliss?
