YOUR WORST/DISAPOINTED/OVERATED STRAIN(S)

Thats like asking whats the worst pussy out there is. Two many things can contribute to a bad strain that you just can't say its the strain. Just like with pussy..somedays its gonna be wetter then others doesn't mean its the worst...just my stonage opinion

the worst strain for me was purple widow,i grow it indoor and outside.from 15 seeds i got 10 females.they were very uniformed plants, outdoor was just alittle better(they are outdoor seeds).i didnt like how the buds formed they were airy and the plants were very long sativa types with a very low yeild.i had 6ft plants before flowering so i thought it was gonna be a good yeilder but the average plant yeild was like 2-1/2oz.cant explain the smell but it wasnt pungent.the plants was purple almost black though,i wouldnt recommend growing indoor

heavy dank nugg

the pure by flying dutchman or jock horror by nirvanna.the pure3 because it tastes like shit. harsh like gargeling glass.and the mild buzz was gone after 10 min.jock because it tastes like haze meets dirt.or like haze meets catpiss. depending on pheno.and its a paranoid racy bad vibes kinda buzz.Oh and for those who would like to say its cause i didnt grow it right. ha ha ha yha. check out my albums they are a very good representation of my abilitys.

hmm...I think the worst strain that I've ever grown was Diesel Ryder...low potency, much much lower yield then expected. I've been growing Pot of Gold recently....great smoke, but terrible germination rate so far, and I have never had a problem popping beans otherwise...everything else has been pretty good.

ill start by saying ive grown some delicious NL#5, and some bland ass atomic NL, ive been disapointed with quite a few strains, but ill take some responsibility, heres a few bummers:
bubbleberry from a clone-tasted like dogshit
guerilla gold 2 - 5 germed, 2 females, both were total garbage, contacted vendor, never got replacement, contacted again, never got replacement again, very disapointing
atomic NL- big buds but not much flavor and didnt match description at all, 55 day strains should not take 70 plus, not mostly indica as stated
sweet tooth 1.1- it might be good smoke but 1 female out of 10 seeds and she wants to autoflower, saved the best 2 males to try and salvage something
outsider, matanuska thunderfuck, dutch treat, and sensis hindu kush- maybe i didnt grow them right but all were disapointing, never again
man i wasted a lot of time and money on bunk genetics

the dutch treat can be very problematic and finickey.similar 2 blueberry.if u dont dial it in u r fooked.if u do....u r rewarded with some of the worlds finest.blackcurrant/lime flavour is oustanding when dried and cured properly.the stone is meditative and stimulating at once,a true dellema(sp?).yields around a 1/2lb,dried of A+grade.indoors is more potent, outdoors is larger plant.mold is an issue if wet autumn weather occures

Biggest disappointment for me value-wise was Sensi's NL5xHaze('02-'03). Not a single keeper out of 8 females. It wasn't the worst smoke ever, but for the money it was certainly my biggest letdown.

Worst smoke ever was MOD's Dream Goddess. Disgusting smell and taste; like really cheap perfume. The high was mediocre at best. I wound up giving away what I didn't throw in the bubble bag. Even the bubble I made with it was Sub-Par, even though it only made up a small portion of what went in the bags. Moments after smoking it for the first time I killed my mother and clones, and discarded all seeds contaminated with its genetics. It was that bad.

...coming from a nongrower (myself) but soon to be grower, i can even say that there are some things you can take into consideration, and some you cannot.

the "worst" strain? let me put it this way..

say i have a pack of 50 seeds. i spread out, to 10 people, 5 seeds.
we use the same exact methods (which, really isnt physically possible but nonetheless) when it comes to growing, drying, curing, etc. everything the same down to the equipment.

you can have 1 person germinate all 5, and get 5 females. you can have another only germ 4, and get 1 female. its going to vary, not to mention when they actually start growing color can vary, CBD/CBN (sp?) content can change characteristics about the aroma, taste, high, etc. all of that. i believe they call them "phenotypes". i may not be correct on everything but this is what ive gathered from years on these forums along with overgrow when it was around.

BUT, there is a factor. other people mentioned before about how "true" breeding is the best...it's obvious that these breeders are out to make a buck, and not provide good things to the cannabis user community (which, are MILLIONS of people across the world)....some breeders stay true to their methods, develop good genetics and breed them properly, not this quick over and over and over and over crossings we see going on. good job, guys. seriously..you get a lot of people stoned! haha.

there are some beans/genetics that, thru breeding obviously, have good characteristics, in general. IE, better germination rates, higher THC content in the bud, etc.

you can spend $150 on seeds and get 3/10 germination using a good method of germ.
you can spend $150 on seeds and get 10/10 germ, and an amazing smoke.

BUT

you can spend $30 on seeds and get 10/10 germination with amazing smoke
you can spend $30 on seeds and get 0/10.

there are too many variables in this, i always read forums. forums are up-to-date sources to learn about things such as quality strains, new grow methods, etc. pick a strain you'd like to grow from the seedbank in question, do a search on icmag and take a look. if you cant find anything, then its not a popular strain...which in itself is probably for you not to grow.

keep your eyes open, follow grows of the strain you want, make sure it fits the bill (indica vs sativa) and grow it. be keen about buying beans, and budget yourself. allow yourself X amount of money to spend on seeds, and never go above it. now, if you got money to just DROP and have nothing else in the world to spend your money on, then sure go buy the $200 in seeds. or whatever other retarded amount you want to spend.

i'm going nirvana/greenhouse this time around. good prices, good reviews, steady genetics from what the forums show me.

Dude I have grown GG and it was a great early outdoor strain for me.
Maybe u should figure out what your doing wrong rather than spending extra money on beans.

My biggest dissapointment was Blue Widow from high-grade seeds. The plant structure looked like spears of hay.No pleasant smell ,trics nothing.Smelled like lawn grass, never made it to the bubbler.May have just been the 1 pheno i had.So i made seeds with the male,to try again....

Yes well said. It's all about variable in seeds itself. Even chemdog threw out some pheno of the chemdog seeds from the original batch.

I think the most important part is the storage of the seeds and whether you are really getting the real deal seeds from seed banks. I will not be suprised that some seedbank are sending out knock off seeds. How would people be able to verify it and I've heard bunch of stories of seeds not growing out like descirption. It's all about the chain of seed being delivered to you.

My worst would be the attitude's free seeds, I tend to test the seeds by pressing on the seed to see if it will hold. All of the G-13 lab freebies broke. I did order Barney's blue cheese... the seeds seem dry and broke easy. No more Barney's seeds even though I had awesome experience with them in the dam. I just don't want to waste my precious money on lousy seeds. Shoulda have went with Big Buddah seeds. I know I didn't grow it yet... just that I've too many other seeds competiting with each other to be grown.

There are plently of small time breeders who make excellent uniform mature seeds out there. I'm sure they are working hard to earn our respect and doing good job so far. *Stll not grown but I can just wildy assume by looking at the seeds itself* *I know its not a fair assessment still :joint:

I have over 40 strains. Putting up the list for fun

The original lowryder, but it was the first plant i grew back then and obviously i knew its all about its autoflowering ability and not mindblowing smoke.

otherwise i feel ive been lucky, no strain has really disappointed me.

HOG... pissed completely off

Blubonic... Great strain, great high, nice blueberry taste, nice yields. BUT, the ones I had, the stems were so weak they just bent over.... Upset me a lil.

Bubbleberry.. old Spice brothers strain. Just wasnt what I was expecting!!!!

Lately the beans Ive been popping have been spot on. At least a keeper or two out the bunch.... By most peoples standards... although the bar is waaay up there around these

Good thing we both got it because its currently out of stock.I haven't pop it but hopefully plan to do it sometime soon because of the plant limit in my state. What I know about it is already explained on your grow thread. Too bad I cannot see you pictures.. it is saying that I do not have enough posts to see your pictures oh well :(

The description and the pictures and the low price is what made me order it.

nirvana big bud when i was starting to grow
every other strain including some others from nirvana went fine
the big buds out of 10 seeds germinated only 4 turned into to plants
1 was deformed 2 males and 1 female
great yield , lousy smeel and aperance
not much to the taste but the high was the worst
so weak sometimes it seemed you just didnt smoke anything
