Your thoughts on my Central A/C unit

That's a good guideline to go by for residential, but it isn't really applicable in a growroom.

1 ton= 12,000 btu's

Did you know a BTU is very similar to a calorie in measurement? probably...

Yeah, calories, watts, fluid motion, btu, joules, evething is supposed to be mathematically convertable, but in reality you have to do a lot of fudging with the the conversion factors.

You get to the relative statement of what you are trying to do first.. How cool do you want the place to be, or how much heat do you have to remove under what conditions.

I am in Louisiana, and it is about as bad as it gets here. 500 sq ft per ton residential will get you to 72 degrees. if you add (6) lights of 400 watt to this figure you have 2400 additional watts to remove. I need some solid data and I can give you anything you want.
