Rusto: T12s: 1.5 inches in diameter, four foot long. Common shop lights, one can find at any hardware store.
12 bulbs for a total 580 watts.

Yeah br26, that probably why I choose ‘em to start with, same as many old growers (who you calling old?? hehe)

In Mel Franks/Ed Rosenthal 1974 edition “Marijuana growers guide” on my bookshelf talks exclusively about shop lights for growing. I had made my decision to grow indoors before finding OG (online growin) and that was my reference. I’m happy with my choice :smile:

Hey Makavellian! yeah they are the shit.
Those Afghanis? Yep there curing, I won’t get into them till April. I’m no good with words for a smoke report but.. Their bag appeal is top notch. All the purple in ‘em and the aroma, strong, orangy and the taste is exotic on the mouth. A pleasure to smoke, But it not very potent. It is a nice high, kinda up. Just takes about 3 or 4 bong hits to get there.

Ok the weights for the first half of the crop is:

79 grams, Afghani ( 5 plants. One in the shade)
26 grams, BagSeed ( 4 plants, all in the shade)
105 grams total = 3 3/4 ounces

In defense of the Afghanis they are heavily seeded so that why the low yield, and my gardening skills. And worse, much of that weight is seed weight. But with the crack down and paranoia with seed vendors recently I’m glad I’m sitting on that sack of seed.

2 seeds. 4 plants. 1 molded during cure. so far about 3 ounces and 5 grams hash. still more hash to come and 1 more papaya with 1-2 ounces. here's a couple pics from feb 2. first is blue second is paya.

blue turned out really fluffy but that could be the way i ended it. papaya is so tight. the buds aren't big but lose very little weight or volume when dried and it is so crusted with trichs. not to mention one of the best highs i've found.

Turtletech, I’m intrigue to try the papaya. You should try the White Rhino, I remember you’re thinking if it. While I trust the Doc to keep below the radar, I think I’ll skip ordering this year. Err on the side of prudence and all that.

what lights do u use? cool, warm, full spectrum? and do you use them the whole grow?

Hi br26. Intrinsic_ here. Colorado is my ID since being banned. Hehe.
I used alternating cool white and warm whites, six of each. I would like to try full spectrum to see if a difference in yield/growth but they are much more expensive.
Yes, same lights used throughout the grow, no swapping.

My total yield for 18 weeks is 215 grams =7.7 ounces.
6 weeks of veg, 8 week of 12/12 for Afghani and 12 weeks of 12/12 for White Rhino.

the full spectrum lights tend to have a higher color k of 5000 or so, and the warm whites are much less.

i get my lights at KayMert, and they run about $9 u.s. for 2 , 4' t12 tubes.
seen the t12 ballasts there also, they were only $12.

there was a page that referred the k's of each floro t12, but i can't find it.

I've made a sort of reflector with 5 x 18w...
They are long about 60 cm and have white7blu spectrum... I don't no the name, but are tubolars.
In Italy are really used this tipe of light, but not for grow!
Anyone know what's the name? here We call this bulb NEON, like the gas contains, i think.
