Nice changes.
The tent is your best friend.
The 430 is too small for it.
For @ 50$ more, you could have had a 600 watt = twice as good as that 430 watt.

I believe you when you say you want hands- on experience, and not yield.
I also understand the need to create "chit".... but save money. Need less. Every $20 adds up in the end. Pool- table hoods are pointless. You are not creating enough heat to need it...

Too much going on in that room, and in the head of the farmer. Yeah, we are farmers, not scientists. The plants don't " NEED " us to grow.
We are here to tend, and observe. Less is more ( except when referring to CFL's ).

Yeah, it "might" work. I grew 6 plants in a tent - Vanilla Kush with a 400 watt Lumitech, and got @ 56 g each plant. I changed to a 600, grew 6 more and got .... WOW!!! 112 grams per plant. No other changes.

Good luck getting 65 grams dried per plant. Even with HPS.

4 strain Organic soil- SCROG-VERT 400w MH & 600w HPS
Tube hoods thinking side by side and spin every week of so.
( yes I know what this is & how to build it )
In a 5' x 5' x 8' Tent
And a 4' x 4' x 6' Tent for Training or Hydro or whatever else I come up with by then.

So I would say I'm learning and have a goal.
Took over 100 grams off the single SourD ( just ok smoke)
Yet with CFL's and not bad smoke, C+ grade.

Super Silver Haze tho low yield- 39 g Is B grade and the bomb
smoke and I'm way proud of her.

6-7 grams of oil and I could go on. All that on Ghetto cfl $

lol Bro I have a feeling if ya follow me over the next year or so you will see why I do what I do and that I really am open to suggestions & changing my style if given good reason.

I would love nutten more than to get through the rest of this grow on the easy.

The CFL hood was a bad design. No hole on top for heat to get out
and the ladys got fried.
No big deal tho only Bagboy shows lotz of burn.

Stem cut:

Healthy looking ,Well formed.

I thinking due to the high moss content and lack of micro nutrients and poorly vented 5 gal bucket.
Same as before. There was no root groth beyond 6".


This was my 2-3nd try at soil set up and seems to have gotten worse at letting go of the water.

Higher perlite % didn't help and I'm convinced it is the moss that is killing me here.


Over all :
I waited a couple extra days to check the root because even though I have not water for a week almost 2 weeks. It is still heavy.

Sure enough as I look at the roots.
There is almost none deeper than 6" and what there is
looks weakly formed.

The bottom layer looks to have been wet since day 1, Almost a slime type feel to it.
No smell or anything,Yet I'm surprised I don't have root rot.
Guess no root- No rot--lol

From what I know of Grape Krush this is probably close to the worse kind of
soil mix I could have given her. ops...

Now I can see why she looked good and then almost over night
looked like I left her in a hot oven for a day.

She wanted to take off and ran into the wet soil, she could go no further.
From what I have read on GK.
If she is over watered. Her leaves will wither like crazy. I can at least to this...lol

I cut her a little early because she was hard to look at...lol
The real reason was she looked like she wanted to grow yet just couldn't
and I started worrying about bud rot or a becoming a good place to feed bugs.

Over all:

Makes me want a lot more control over watering and feedings.
I need to play with coco in my next grow.
Though I really like organics and feel this is my way to go I still have
a lot to learn about drainage and so much more...lol


Im hoping She will make good Honey oil...

Side note:
Even though I have to shut down after this grow for a few months.
I have a few different soil mixes and some test pots set up for
strawberry's, red wheat and some things I can grow outside over the summer.

I have had a Bonsai tree collection for years and have great soil ( by luck )
In my plants. I have been breaking up soil and collecting fat, I mean really fat earth worms
from my other trees and collecting them in the strawberry 30 gal container for the summer.
Should make for worm casting for my next try. maybe...lol

The GK has seeds-Yet once again-- after watering her. she just up and frys,wilts and dies. What is with this strain.lol
Still there are seeds on her and I am leaving her alone till I cut the SSH down.

She on the other hand has done great already- Hardy easy to grow and productive.
I did a seed count last night and I already have 61 dark brown seeds with black stripes. looking tits. Another 40-50 green to light brown seed as well.

So many more on her still as well.

I am tempted to cut her asap so as to get the 150 hps into the other flowering room.
Still thinking about it.

Funny chit. I cut the Super silver haze seed lady on day 100 and picked 8 seeds from the dirt, figure I missed a few so place the pot outside and watered. 2 days later.. Bam. One pops. Wonder how many might show for up the party. My guess is 4... Thinking this is Boarder Haze.

Thank for the props bro. I'm proud to say that I have managed to spread my seeds all over the states. Over 700 seeds sold or traded so far. I have my haze going outdoors (14 popped -9 fems 5-male.pulled males) flowering around 4 weeks and looking great. Got my hand on some Columbian gold seeds and around 15 other strains so far. This winters grow will be for seeds and should be the bomb.

Tell u what. I had no idea seeds where such a hot seller. Recuperated all cost in 2 weeks. Wow chintzy crazy. Till next time have fun y'all...

Here we have some Border Haze ladies
from the seeds the fell in the dirt from my 1st seeds grow.

Since I left them outside and did not do much with them over the summer beyond watering and keeping them short they are going to be a small sample of what is possible.

They started flowering around 7/30/12 so they are around day 100+
I have just started noticing damage due to bugs. Not so bad as to do anything about at this point.

Her smell is out of this world sweet/citrus and wicked sticky already.
The colas are filling in nice and fat.

I would love to bring inside for a month under my 400w hps yet
her roots broke out and grew into the ground and I don't want to shock her.

This time of year and where she sits means she is only getting
a hour or so of direct light so this could take months to finish.

I've been playing with the idea of just staging her and leaving her
in the ground to re veg over the winter.

Only problem being the smell as I cut her down.

??? Any tricks for keeping the smell down after you cut nugs off
a lady outside. ??? Maybe a little mud over the fresh cuts ?

Where to go from here...

I've had a few months to chew on my 1st grow experience and
am still trying to absorb all the different things that happened
during the possess.

Turned out I screwed the pooch big time as far as having vast amounts of A+ smoke to play with.
For the most part I wont smoke most of it due to my mite spray
in late flowing making for some nasty tasting chit.

Curing with orange slices has helped yet not near enough.

Made a few grams of BHO out of some and that smokes much better.

The rest of what I have from my 1st grow ( 10 oz ) or so will
go to a friend who could care less about the taste.

That or compost it soon. Tired of looking at it.

The real gold for me turned out to be the seeds and lessons learned.

My 1st grow didn't cost me a penny due to selling a few seed.
I in no way saw that coming. lol

Still have a few hundred beans for myself to play with as well.

One big problem for me was and still is. Not having a stable grow area. I'm still a few months for moving to my own pad and have to deal with others in this house.
( I Hate People ) The room I had is no longer available and have moved to my full size closet in my room.

Right after I tore down the 1st grow room a few months ago
I set up a Mini PPK system with 8 x 1 gal pots filled with coco
and test ran it for leaks. Worked great. Set up the closet and hung
the 400w light then shut the door and forgot about it till now.

Though I cleaned everything I wanted to make sure any mite or bugs from the 1st grow died before a new grow. Figured a few months without water would do it.

So all I have to do at this point is pop a few beans and turn the lights on.

My only hang up is WHAT to grow for.

I live in a MMJ state and can get B+ Meds for $100.00 a OZ
all day long. A+ for $220.00 a oz as well as cons and oils on the cheap. So for now it cost less than electricity unless I grew a couple
pounds. Which could go to chit if I screwed it up.

Seeds I have and though would love more not sure I need
them at this point for the cost.

What I would love to do is start breeding my own strains and focus
on the strains instead of meds. Would need my own place for that.

So what to do what to do...
