Yellowing/scars problem

distilled is much like RO. Some pring water has minerals, which are not bad, Some may have sodium, which is not good. I prefer ro/distilled/deionized, as all should be near 0 ppm, and are therefore a blank slate and you can control exactly what the plants get.

I have a ro system. If it would ever rain I am not above using a barrel to catch some.

Else distilled for me.

E,
Sorry Man...I knew you were across the pond and so things would be different. I'll bet distilled water is readily available though. You can add back a tiny bit of tap water to resore some of the micro-nutrients. I don't know how to convert from mg/l to ppm but just looking at the mg...that's alot of sodium. If someone were on a strict low sodium diet...they probably shouldn't drink that water.

Far as water near the coast...it's possible that it could contain more sodium then further inland.

Spring water travels through limestone aquifers and that's how it picks up calcium. Don't know where the sodium comes from. But lakes and rivers are mostly rainwater run-off. And plants in nature are in their proper environment whereas our artificially housed plants are a different story.

Think of it as a test. Run distilled for a couple weeks and see if there's any improvement. If no improvement...then you will have ruled out water issues.
Cheers,
ET

Dr-Dank: Ok thanks for your input. They sale distilled water around here, I'll give it a try.

Evil Twin: Yes, you guessed it, distilled water is available around here. I'll buy some and try it for some time. About the sodium yes, there are special waters for people on a low sodium diet!

Thanks for your explanation about the limestones, outstanding as always!

I will give a try with distilled water for some time. I think my plants are back on track, they look more happy now. Pics soon!
