Yellowing Leaves, 37th day of flower

Strain of Mj? Ak47
Hydroponic or soil? Soil, ProMix BX
From seed or clone? Clone
Age of plant in question? 12 1/2 weeks
What stage (Veg/Flower; how many days into)? 37th day of flower
Medium (Soil, Rockwool, Hydroton etc.)? soil
Container/Pot size? unsure.. 12" dia at the top, tapers down to maybe 6-7" dia at the bottom. 9" tall
Have they been transplanted, if so how long ago? They were transplanted into these pots a few weeks before introduced to flower cycle.
If soil, composition ratios (peat moss, perilite, vermiculite etc.)? Looks like soil with maybe 10% - 20% perlite, also see shiny flakes in the soil too.
Water runoff Ph? 6.2 - 6.5
Nutrients added? Yes see below in more detail description.
Ratios of nutrients (N% P% K%)? not sure
Feeding schedule? every 3-4 days or when needed
When were they last fed/watered? Yesterday
How are you determining when to feed/water (weight, wilting, etc.)? Usually I can tell by how dry the soil is, and also usually by weight. Alot of time I think I should water them.. but I don't have the time so I'm like I'll get to it tommorow they will make it they look fine. I get home a day later and they have started to wilt. Has happened to me a couple times. Nothing sever though. Just seems I'm usually a day off in the watering.
TDS/EC/PPM? Not sure how to read this stuff yet.
Tap/RO/Distilled water? tap @ 7.3 - 7.8
Ph before and after adding nutrients? ph of nutes is ually 5.8 or so. I use Advanced Nutrients PH up pure concentrate to adjust. To 6.5. Lately I've been using a higher ph. I used to be at 6.2. But I've been thinking that maybe its too low.
Is your Ph equipment properly calibrated? Yes. I have PH 4 and PH 7 To test.
Light intensity/Age of bulb/Wattage? EYE Hortilux Super HPS 430w
Distance to the canopy? 4" - 6"
Temps at canopy? gets warm in there sometimes. usually around 85
Temps at root zone or reservoir? Unsure. Have never really checked. When feeded nutes are 68
Day/Night temps (Min.-Max.)? 85-90 during the day, 65-75 at night.
Current air flow (CFM)? 130cfm
Is there air blowing directly onto plant? Yes. Small occilating fan.
Using CO2? no
Relative humidity? 28%-35%
Growing technique (Scrog, Sog, Supercropping etc.)? I have 2 plants in a c22. One is just growing naturally. The one pictured was tied down early in veg (LST).
Has plant recently been pruned, clones taken, fimmed or pinched? no
Pests? no
Chemicals used to irradicate? n/a
If so,When? na

Hey everyone. Hopefully I can get some help on figuring out what I need todo. Here are some pictures of my girls. Well only one of them. The other looks pretty much the same, symptoms wise.

As you can see there is alot of yellowing leaves and dying ones. I've picked maybe 2 - 4 handfulls of dead leaves already. My girls have lost alot. I've tried feeding them with regular veg nutes in addition to bloom nutes, thinking it was a Nitrogen defiency. But nothing seems to help. I'm lost on what I should do. Or if this is even a problem. Someone I know told me in flower plants lose big leaves to let light thru.. I don't really believe that. But if this is normal to happen in flower well then kool. This is my 1st grow so I have no idea.

Something that is coming up on these girls is flushing.... How do you flush a plant properly. And when? I know its the last 2 - 3 weeks? Is that 2 - 3 after 65 days or so. Or is it the last 2 - 3 weeks of a 65 day period? 65days being approx estimated flower time..

Oh btw this is the lineup of nutes I have been feeding them with during flower. Next time I would like to use more of the Canna line stuff I didn't use in this grow. Just didn't have the cash at the time I needed to add them I guess. I'll have more nutes for next grow. I personally think my plants are hungry. But the burnt tips make me think otherwise.

Canna Terra Flores 2 - 2 - 4
Canna Cannazym 0.1 - 0 - 0
Atami B'cuzz Growth stimulator 1/2 strength 1.0 - 0.01 - 0.7 355ml bottle
Atami B'cuzz Bloom Stimulator 0 - 0.01 - 0.7 355ml bottle

Thanks in advance for taking the time to take a read and help me out!

Hey buddy, it's normal for N deficient plants. At the stage your plants are in they are on their last leg... doses of N wouldn't help much here. In your next go round ammend your soil for more Castings, an organic source of N. I started doing this and my plants stay green now throughout the 60s. I prefer a little yellowing over a dark green though, but some people like it otherwise.

They look good though, it could be worse, and at this rate your plants should burn clean and smooth with a flush.

As far as harvesting/flushing it's up to you and your strain and what high you're looking for. For my 65 day strains I start feeding plan water at about day 50 and continue throughout. A 85 day strain I'd start flushing at 70, etc...

wow you have a nice gallery man.

Thanks for the explanation on whats happening with my plants. Thanks for explaining the flushing thing to me too!

Oh man I can't wait to smoke this shit. Gonna be bad ass! Then I have master kush seedlings and hashplantxwhitewidow i need to start sexing!

High ya Chron! Fer yer first grow you've done a great job.I agree with Stretch 100% on everything right down the line. The worm castings -are- a perfect amendment fer promix.By addin 20-25% yer not only adding a fix N yer also addin micro-nutes not ta mention micro critters that were not there before.Jus somethin ta think about for future grows with promix, and if that don't work give em some borax with boron.LOL...jus kiddin. Hey these are those plants huh? Well, I jus thought I'd pop in an add a lil ta Stretch' post.Later man, take care...BC

Thanks guys. Everyones help in the infirmary has been awesome. Cuz of it my girls are doing great. These clones started off on a bad foot. They were taken while the mother was flowering i guess. So they had to reveg and I didn't know what was going on. But they pulled thru and are doing great. I think I will start flushing on day 50.

If pick up a microscope to view the trichs to harvest when most of them are cloudy. Would I start flushing my girls for the lasts 2 weeks once I've made that decision that its good enough now to harvest.

Ph is high for promix. Should be between 5.6 and 6.2. Canna flores is high in potassium and low in magnesium. It requires supplemental magnesium. It is common for growers to add 1/4 teaspoon epsom salts per gallon of water along with it. The lime providing mag is probably running out from being watered alot. Since you probably got mag def, apply 1 teaspoon per gallon of water epsom salts once to boost levels in the plant then resume the new low supplimental level everytime.

would there be much point to adding anything now. THey are on day 40 or so now and if they are gonna finish at around day 65 then thats only 10 days of feeding left.

i have similar problem with hydro scrog day 45 of 85 day flower. if worm castings works for soil is there an equivelant for hydro?

Yes, I agree with the above posts, it is totally normal and natural especially if you have a shorter finishing strain. While you can't totally rule yellowing out there is a couple things I saw in your post that might have contributed.

I read that you transplanted a few weeks before flower? IMO that is a little too long. A few weeks for most plants and they fill that right up! I usually transplant, then wait to see new growth or a 'spurt' or at the least, let them get over the shock (usually 2-7 days), soon as that happens, usually a week on average, I switch to flower.

During the stretch the roots are going to stretch too, this gives them ample room to do so, where as if the roots were allowed to 'fill it in' for 3 weeks it might not work as well.

Also, did you feed them your veg formula for the first 2-3 weeks of flower? During the stretch they don't need bloom formula. In fact it doesn't need the bloom formula until it is actually creating flowers and buds, usually 2-3 weeks depending. What I like to do is feed it my veg formula first 2 weeks, then for the 3rd week do mixtures of veg and bloom until the plants 'ween' off the veg formula and start to reall flower/bloom, then give the bloom formula.

I found this has really helped with the yellowing. But again, these are just small steps in the grand scheme of things and may not make that much difference at all, I am just stating what I do. It all depends on the strain though, so many need so many different things like above average root space, or eating too much to keep up with. Here is my ECSD at 26 days the only one in the garden starting to yellow, and anyone who has grown her out knows she needs A LOT of root space... but I only have room for her 4 gallon she is in now.

Hope I helped.
