Xmas lights for heating seedlings?

Can't for the life of me figure out what i did with my heat mat, so i'm gonna try to recycle a string of old xmas lights to see if they'll keep the beans warm enough. Temps just dipped into the 50's in the cab, so i'm hoping this experiment works. Anyone tried this before?
