All the Beatles albums are gone! Lots of other classic stuff is just gone and claim "blocked in your country" What a "super-power".

Whus happening? Gone forever or will there be a "new" pay for version soon? Anywhere else to go pay or free?

If Pink Floyd disappears next I'll go crazy I think. :)

I go to torrentz.eu for albums if they aren't on youtube. I haven't checked out classic stuff in a while, but almost every album I've looked for in the last year had been on youtube. Except for music from Nine Inch Nails. Youtube seems pretty lenient about playing music for free except in cases where the band (or the people who own the rights to their music) objects.

"Blocked in your country" is easy to get around with a proxy.

because those who own rights to the artists want the monitization

Suddenly in the last couple of months, the Beatles for G-d's sake? Dylan has mostly been gone for over a year. I got several Doors disappear yesterday and tonight looking for Hendrix/manic depression almolst got me manically depressed

I would be happy to pay for access and not have to see commercials but that doesn't appear to be an option. So potentially billions of views on so many songs and albums are just suddenly gone and there's not even a mention in the press ( not that the press can be relied on for anything but just saying )

Oye Vey already

Search for "free proxy" and you'll find tons of sites. Sign up for a proxy service and download a program like OpenVPN that connects to an external proxy server somewhere else in the world. To youtube, it looks like you're trying to watch the video from wherever the proxy server is located. I've only done this from a pc or laptop, not a phone or something like Apple TV.

Some of the free proxies are more reliable than others. Right now I'm paying a small monthly fee for a paid proxy service, since it's more reliable and they have servers all around the world. And I'm using it for a lot more than playing youtube videos.

Sites like torrentz.eu are useful if youtube isn't playing the music at all. Not just restricting playback by region. You just have to download a bittorrent client (I recommend Deluge), search on torrentz or thepiratebay or wherever, and download / load the torrent file. This works for music, movies, porn, whatever. It's not 100% legal.

If you want a cheap legal option, Spotify is awesome. Their free app lets you play any band or artist you want, randomly shuffled with a commercial every once in a while. The paid version lets you listen to any band, any album whenever you want.

I like the sound of cheap, legal, etc.

Spotify App? Forgive me I'm old and dumb when it comes to this stuff. Will it work on a desk top ( I do not even own a cell phone that takes pictures and is still on the same plan ( which is no plan at all ) it came with back in 2004 :)

Get some extensions onto google chrome - Obvious ones are the Adblock family, Browsec (vpn which gives you an ip address in US, Singapore, UK and the Netherlands), Vanilla (destroys cookies as you visit sites) AVG Do not Track etc.
Key Scrambler is a free d/l (encrypts your keyboard presses) and I would say Peer Block is essential too.
You can find all of these reasonably easily with a google search.
KickAss Torrents seems pretty good for the music and people sometimes post albums on blogs (although with the bands you're after, it's likely they'll be DMCA'd quickly).

If you're willing to pay like $10/month you can sign up for unotelly. It lets you change your country easily.
It was setup mostly for netflix to watch movies from other regions but they have shit for youtube, hbo, and a ton of other crap I've never heard of.

I love it for netflix and I use it sometimes to watch stuff on youtube that "isn't available in my country"
