Ok. Well I lied just a little bit. Saw them live 25 years ago. Signals is my favorite album.

RUSH

"Digital Man"

His world is under observation
We monitor his station
Under faces and the places
Where he traces points of view

He picks up scraps of conversation
Radio and radiation
From the dancers and romancers
With the answers but no clue

He'd love to spend the night in Zion
He's been a long while in Babylon
He'd like a lover's wings to fly on
To a tropic isle of Avalon

His world is under anesthetic
Subdivided and synthetic
His reliance on the giants
In the science of the day

He picks up scraps of information
He's adept at adaptation
Because for strangers and arrangers
Constant change is here to stay

He's got a force field and a flexible plan
He's got a date with fate in a black sedan
He plays fast forward for as long as he can
But he won't need a bed
He's a digital man

Something For Nothing

"Waiting for the winds of change
To sweep the clouds away
Waiting for the rainbows end
To cast its gold your way
Countless ways
You pass the days

Waiting for someone to call
And turn your world around
Looking for an answer to
The question you have found
Looking for
An open door

You dont get something for nothing
You dont get freedom for free
You wont get wise
With the sleep still in your eyes
No matter what your dreams might be

What you own is your own kingdom
What you do is your own glory
What you love is your own power
What you live is your own story
In your head is the answer
Let it guide you along
Let your heart be the anchor
And the beat of your own song "

 We now return you to our recording in progress.

My, isn't everyone a little pissy today? Rush is actually 3 guys and they don't look anything like the pictures Sprout/Black Velvet showed. They first got started back around 1968 and 2 of the 3 members were replaced. Sprout posted some time ago that he was around 21 then, but also posted elsewhere that he had grown for 15 years(must have started at 6), and elsewhere that he didn't grow. Now he says that he saw the band 25 years ago. My, time travels fast when you smoke all those dime bags(what is that? 1/2 a bud?)

why anyone would invent going to a Rush concert is beyond me-
i saw them in the English Midlands in 1978 (and they did look pretty much as in the pic), thats not a boast it's a confession

I am not responsible for the pictures.(That one was taken in 1974) The original band in 1968 were Alex Lifeson(still with the band) ,Jeff Jones and John Rutsey. Geddy Lee replaced Jeff Jones later that year and Neil Peart replaced John Rutsey on drums in 1974. Geddy Lee is the only one now who has long hair. I guess that you aren't old enough to remember when all band members looked gay or female. That was not exactly the "Golden Era".

congrats! besides the obvious lying that everyone else has called ya on, you managed to screw up the conjunction they're (they are) TWICE using both there, used to show location (in the thread title), and their, used to show plural possession.

If we're going 3 piece canadian I'll go with Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, the guys that did the opening song on Kids in the Hall.

If were going any old 3 piece it would be Violent Femmes.
